But even though he is on the House Judiciary Committee, he seems to have no actual understanding of how the enforcement of laws work in the criminal context. He told Kaitlin Collins yesterday that if there is a failure to comply with his statute, it will be enforced criminally, and people will go to jail. 1. The only thing the statute does is force the creation of a searchable and downloadable database of materials. 2. The statute orders the Attorney General to create this database. 3. The statute leaves a variety of discretionary judgments to the Attorney General on what documents to include. 4. The statute does not include any provisions that give notice to anyone that non-compliance is a criminal offense. 5. Massie says "their" -- he and Khanna -- method of enforcement will be "legal." But here is the problem that shows how little Massie understands about the law: The obligation to create the database is placed upon the Attorney General. Who is it in the U.S. government that is given the authority to decide when to bring criminal charges and who to charge? Due process under the 5th Amendment requires "Notice and Opportunity to be Heard". Where in the statute is "Notice" provided that non-compliance is potentially a criminal offense?

LOL - I'm not sure why you want this case to be dismissed so bad, if he is guilty.....procedure errors do not make him innocent. I don't want to put words in your mouth officer, but it sounds like you want Trump's DOJ to fail more than you want the law upheld..... And very non-partisan legal experts claim that having the GJ sign the same indictment minus the one charge they voted against does not effect the case..... but it makes a great drama

They are going to be disappointed this bill does not release any grand jury testimony. That always has and still does require a court order - this is just theater....

This is all theater. What are you expecting to be released? The grand jury testimony that requires a court order? Do you want them to stop the current investigation and release those files? I've said this before, if you only want to hear what you want to hear, stay with CNN and all the biased media...... "shipwreckedcrew" on X calls out left and right when they are wrong on legal matters. There is not going to be a smoking gun in these files - and there will be so many redactions, everything will be pure speculation.

Your too early to celebrate - it goes to the Senate for debate and vote. If no changes, back to house and to Presidents desk. If they amend it, which is likely, it goes back to house for approval of the amendments.....then to Presidents desk. If unredacted it hurts the victims and innocent people. So we know it will be redacted, that will start speculation and made up stories that may or may not be true......what does that solve? Does that bring any pedo's to justice? Nope....this is NOT about the victims, It will be another attempt to "get Trump".....

Could he? I know Democrats claim he can. Here is the problem. Grand Jury materials are shielded under Federal Rule of criminal Procedure 6(e) and release requires a court order. Files tied to on going investigations are also off limits. Then add redactions...... So he could "demand" - but they would release what they would release, and the stuff that was not released the Democrats would blame on Trump.....So he is playing it correct. Besides, having Congress vote seems Democratic, and Trump demanding the release sounds very King like....... and Democrats wants no kings.....

I think you missed the part where I said I think everyone needs to have health insurance available. i also said I don’t have an answer. Something does need to change. There’s a single mom that works for the same company I do. She pays insurance premiums out of her paycheck, and has two kids that are sick a lot. The doctor visits cost around $150 a kid, they’re usually both sick at the same time so that’s a $300 doctor visit. She told me that the last couple times her kids were sick she took them to the ER to avoid paying the Dr…..while not right, she could not afford to go to the doctor die to the high deductibles.

WE have collected a lot of money off the tariffs - and it may take a while to feel results. He is changing global trading, that does not happen overnight.
