  1. Did BISD really need this?     He calls the Texas Education Agency planned takeover of the district a "witch hunt against those who have done a lot of good in this school district" and a TEA effort to "take over a majority African American school district and to have white people come in and take over the school district."   The superintendent who terminated Lawrence-Lee, Dr. Timothy Chargois, and the Education Commissioner who ordered the takeover, Michael Williams, are black......   [Hidden Content]
  2. I agree, it's pretty sad.... Supposedly educated grown people can't follow the rules
  3. It's starting to get real................   District Attorney warns BISD to keep jobs meeting open to the public, Texas Rangers to attend meeting   Jefferson County District Attorney Cory Crenshaw sent a letter to the Superintendent and to board members saying that there will be Texas Rangers at the meeting to arrest anyone who violates state law.       [Hidden Content]
  4. Wait and see
  5.   Was it? I think she frauded BISD and BISD police  with the assualt charge BS. She should be charged with that.....   So, really, she got off easy   and I really think she needed the anger management classes.....lol
  6. Judge denies BISD spokeswoman's request for new trial   :D  :D    Her petition, which includes an affidavit signed by Superintendent Timothy Chargois, claims the verdict was contrary to the law and the evidence and that she was denied effective assistance of counsel. Attorney David Barlow submitted the petition on Haynes' behalf.   New Trial - DENIED WORKERS COMP - DENIED   Hopefully those anger management classes will help.....   [Hidden Content]
  7. [Hidden Content]     Listen to it in context.......   I don't disagree with anything he said....Some people do feel that way
  8.   Ok....so according to this article and some I have read, he will be sending 275 personnel to add to the 100-200 already there.   What is that going to do?  I think we had more than 300 in my senior class.   They have an ARMY.....with this stuff   "Security officials said the Islamic State fighters managed to take control of two weapons depots holding 400,000 items, including AK-47 rifles, rockets and rocket-propelled grenades, artillery shells and mortars. A quarter of the stockpiles were sent to Syria, they said."   He needs to man up to his mistake and send some troops in to take care of this.
  9.   Popular is not always positive.....I knew a few "popular" girls in high school.....
  10.   This post just really made my day.......Thanks Craig!
  11. Someone care to give me a readers digest version of the video?......I was not watching the entire 31 minute video
  12.   But you will get unemployment
  13. My post was a response to the topic of the thread and I stand by it. I learned a few weeks ago there is no point arguing with someone who does not "get it". The one's who said we pulled out of Iraq too soon were correct.....period
  14.   Maybe both of you are realizing a person can have an opinion about facts and it not always have an element of racial persuasion......
  15. It really amazes me how some people think. While war should never be a first choice, it is necessary. I posted in another thread how few lives we have lost on the war on terror versus any other war on record. We have stoped future terror attacks by keeping the terroist moving and killing their leaders (Obama has used drones and has done a good job on that. Where he(Obama) screwed up is keeping a politcal promise and leaving Iraq before the job was done. We now have a terrorist group, reported with two helicopters, 60 miles from Bagdad, ready to take over...... OBAMA pulled out before the job was complete...... Wish his father would have
  16.   PLAIN AND SIMPLE THE BLACK PANTHERS is a race hate group
  17.   At one time I would have agreed with that entire statement.   I'm not sure how old you are, but in the late 80's a friend of mines brother (around 17) shot and killed a kid(I think he was 6ish) and his Grandfather in cold blood. He was robbing Lamar University of Port Arthur. He came from a great family and a very strict family. I'm not sure what caused him to do it, but I never saw that coming. He is now spending the rest of his life in prison.   So, after that, while the way you raise your child is important, it does not always mean they won't turn out bad.
  18.   Are you talking about Deputy Rod Carroll? He is the one that issued the public news release.
  19.   It is linked back to her because she is in the news and well known.
  20. When it rains
  21.   Would you want members of the KKK on a jury judging a black person? I don't feel that would be fair.  I know I wouldn't want the Black Panthers judging me for anything.....   And he did not strike her for her race.....he struck her for affiliation with a pro-race group....   Thoughts?
  22.     He actually said White activist group OR white Supremacist group.   It appears to me he was trying to take race favoritism out of the equation, and I see nothing wrong with that.
  23. Thoughts?   I think it's ridiculous. He claimed he would do the same for either race.....   This is one reason hatred on both sides continues.....Two people cannot have different views and get along.......       A Central Texas prosecutor has been fired for comments he made in dismissing a prospective juror who was a member of the NAACP, comparing the juror's membership to white supremacy.   Travis County prosecutor Steve Brand made the comments last month during jury selection for a robbery trial. Transcripts show he rejected the juror because she was an "activist" and had posted on her Facebook page a link to "The Negro Motorist Green Book," a guide to safe travel for African-Americans in the Jim Crow era.   The Austin American-Statesman reports ([Hidden Content] ) Brand said he would take the same approach with a white juror because "we wouldn't want a white activist or a white supremacist." Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg says the comments were racially insensitive.   Brand's lawyer, Tom Nesbitt, described Lehmberg's punishment as "bizarre."         [Hidden Content]
