Seattle Raises Minimum Wage $15 Per Hour...
thetragichippy replied to smitty's topic in Political Forum
WRONG..... It was $4.75 in 1996, then $5.15 in 1997, Then $5.85 in 2007, then $6.55 in 2008, THEN $7.25 in 2009 but facts never really stood in your way of you trying to make a point -
Ummmmm.....ok But it turns out that Buffett’s own company, Berkshire Hathaway, has had every opportunity to pay more taxes over the last decade. Instead, it’s been mired in a protracted legal battle with the Internal Revenue Service over a bill that one analyst estimates may total $1 billion. [Hidden Content]

Google it I know this might be a new concept for you, but instead of just throwing your opinion out, or getting other people to do your research......why don't you do it yourself..... Maybe even throw in a link to support your argument......If you did that, we MIGHT even take you serious -
Seattle Raises Minimum Wage $15 Per Hour...

What's the point...she claims to be intelligent, but can't even seem to answer a direct question. She has no idea how business works or who is going to pay that $117,000. Unless she thinks the CEO is going to take a pay cut.... -

That is a 43% increase in salary. Not that big of a jump? If you make $40,000 a year and walk in on Monday and your Boss said, Hey you are getting a 43% raise. You now make $57,200! Would your reply be That is not that big of a jump?? making you think! B) -

Lumberton Transgender Teacher Out Of A Job Again
thetragichippy replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in The Locker Room
According to the article, her job is being cut due to budget cuts. That is not an uncommon thing..... As a sub, she was under no contract, and could go weeks at a time without work. After the incident, they put her in maintenance and apparently it was steady work......until the budget cut.....now, she is back where she was. Legally I see no issue...... Do I think they let her go because of what/who she is......probably, but I have no proof. -

I'm going to struggle on this one..... I don't blame the lady but if the law they are reporting is correct........." California law states that a homeowner is permitted to use deadly force when someone enters their home if they have a reasonable fear of death or bodily injury". I think a good lawyer could convinceve a jury that shooting the boys on the way out, they were not in fear of death or bodily injury"........ -
I did with the math question

Seattle Raises Minimum Wage $15 Per Hour...
thetragichippy replied to smitty's topic in Political Forum
It sounds really good (like all assistance programs) until you REALLY look at it...... Raising the minimum wage adds no money into the local economy; it only redistributes money among people who are already part of the economy. Low wage workers will have more money to spend; business owners and customers of those businesses will have less to spend by an amount equal to the increase in wages. The lost money is federal government benefits that low wage workers lose thanks to the increase in the minimum wage. In fact, many of these workers will lose food stamps, some or all of their earned income tax credit, and other means-tested federal benefits. This money is currently spent in the local economy, but after the minimum wage is increased the money will revert to Washington, D.C., to be spent on something else. low wage workers can lose as much as half of any new income to increased taxes and lost benefits. Given the percentage of low wage workers that live in low income households (around 30 percent) and that eligibility for the earned income tax credit extends to about $50,000 for a family of four, the loss to the Seattle area economy is likely on the order of $75-100 million. That was huge.....made national news Dude is an idiot -
Steven, when people are not smart enough to respect others opinions, name calling is really the only defense they have. We do not agree on everything, but I never resort to name calling.....as you have just as much right to an opinion as I do.

interesting.....Your Dad met the man, played ball with him and thought he was a good guy. You read his post, see he does not agree with you, never looked him in the eye and call him an a-hole(which breaks forum rules but apparently moderators do not care) So.....it looks like you are saying you are a great judge of character but apparently your Father is a poor judge of character......
