  1. Home of BISD Assistant Director of Finance and Purchasing raided by FBI Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation are raiding the home of Beaumont Independent School District Assistant Director of Finance and Purchasing Naomi Lawrence-Lee.   Lee was home with family when agents showed up at her home Friday morning.   Nice Home......       [Hidden Content]
  2. Eisley was found guilty by a jury of placing a call to Domino's and asking for pizza to be delivered to an abandoned home. Eisley shot the delivery man in the shoulder and right arm before taking a bank bag. The delivery man later identified Eisley from a photo lineup, and the phone call was determined to have been placed from his mother's cell phone.     If this does not set an example......   60 years is basically a life sentence.......if he serves all of it     [Hidden Content]
  3. Jessie Haynes files grievance against BISD after being taken off assault leave   The state also has denied her Worker's Compensation claim, and she's appealing that denial.     [Hidden Content]
  4.     Very interesting......A bunch of uneducated people talking about things they don't know......   A few made good sense.....like the one who calculated how much Calvin Walker stole.......   Or how  Melody Chappell might be one of the ones with criminal charges brought against her.
  5. 100 charges.....Dove your lawyer friend better eat his Wheaties;)-
  6. A local source at the Federal Courthouse tells the Review that law enforcement sources are telling him there may be as many as 100 charges filed against employees at BISD for bilking the district of millions on many levels.   Sources also confirm that over the last 24 hours, former Lamar University President Jimmy Simmons has been quietly speaking with officials and that he would be the leader of the district for the board of managers. Further, the board of managers would officially take over and first release Dr. Chargois and then place Simmons into the position. Further, each and every position of leadership in BISD would be terminated or transferred in the executive offices."   Sources all confirm they only way to save the district from takeover is a massive termination by the Board of Trustees of the Superintendent and his entire executive staff as the answers they gave to the TEA were "arrogant, abusive and not in reality."   "The situation is hour by hour at this point I am told," said our source over at BISD. "Deals have been cut with the Federal Government and they have told the story and who was involved. It is shocking," said the source.   [Hidden Content]
  7.     HUNG.......he accepted a plea deal.....and gave up a few million dollars,,,,,,innocent people always do that ;)
  8. Good points.
  9.   Maybe......he got one criminal off
  10.   Continue to down play this.......   These are the first two "STUPID" criminals......(Stupid = wiring money to your personal accounts)   They are about to go after the smarter ones........
  11. Our take?   Okay....Chargois is OUT no matter what. Really he is gone. Ambres might make him the lamb on the slaughter table because she has nothing to lose. He is out either way. The first action the new board will make is to fire him - no doubt in our minds. If they leave the old board in - and give them ONE MORE CHANCE - uh....he is still gone. He is the leader, he is arrogant, he is defiant, and his response to the TEA and the now famous presser has infuriated TEA. As one leader told us : "It was like he said bring it on."   Second, Ambres is simply not a leader. And there is a dysfunctional board. They cannot operate the district. So a board of managers must come in. And it works as the elections are not slated until May 2015 - which the new board of managers can draw the district, settle down the finances and get back to running a district.   Third, Jefferson County District Attorney Crenshaw has laid the gauntlet down. He is going to prosecute. He has Texas Rangers, he has his investigators, FBI agents (whoopee)  and he has a team dedicated to bringing it all together. He may be the one that cleans out BISD - which should have been done years ago. But as you can tell - he is doing it right. Quietly and with outside investigators that know - NOBODY. So - with that all we have left to say it is Tea Time in Beaumont Texas.   One last thought - we have NOT HEARD from Mayor Becky Ames and Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick - the two leaders of the community. We have heard from the doctors, chamber, real-estate people, and others, but we have not heard from - well - we have not heard from the two leaders.   That should happen. If they don't say anything to the media - shame. As well from other city council officials in Beaumont. As Beaumont continues to slide downhill   [Hidden Content]
  12. He helped create the mess he is in. If he was not "involved" in the problem, he would have distanced himself from the beginning and started solving problems. It appears he was letting the district run him instead of the other way around.  I think it will be proven that he had an understanding of the legal/criminal issues going on in the district or he was too weak a leader to investigate the problems and just ignored them......   Either way......it's HIS ship that is about to sink!
  13. Yea Dove..... Looks like they are going to take care of all the criminals..... Do you have a problem with that?
  14. If Jessie Haynes never drank before.....I bet she's hitting that bottle right now.......   I bet she has a lot of information she is holding for poker chips......
  15.     Well....every once in a while we agree.....Community advisors would be good......but you still need someone accountable.
  16. Meaning he should hire a diverse group of people.....people that think differently....you can add color if you like,(not where I was going though).   I also read ....."   If a takeover is approved, a board of managers would replace the elected school board members.  The power of the elected board would be suspended for no more than two years.  The board of managers would be made up of people from the community including business people and community leaders.  The commissioner would also appoint a superintendent.   So, does the current Superintendent still receive a paycheck for the next 2 years?
  17. Aggie, has Williams ever had to take over a district before? And if so, do you know if it was successful?
  18. This should get interesting....... One person gets to make up a board of managers to run the school district for two years....... Does he hire diversity are people that think like him?
  19. I think we are all in agreement here....
  20. Judge rejects BISD claim for about $350,000 in Calvin Walker forfeited funds   and he also rejected Walkers claim for about $2.7 million of what he forfeited to the government......BECAUSE "The word "Altered" is not fraud so stop twisting it!"    But.......he will receive $200,000 in funds seized from him amid criminal charges....   Keeping up with all this could really be a full tme job......     [Hidden Content]
  21.   The word "Altered" is not fraud so stop twisting it!  LOL......
  22. Attorney sends letter promising legal action if Atkins isn't rehired at Ozen today   "They knew," Atkins said. "They said they'd called around about my character and they understood people would not be OK with 'the allegation'." Atkins told The Enterprise he spoke at length about the allegation and suspension with Chargois as early as the Friday after the board meeting.   [Hidden Content]
  23.   Blue......"our communities" or "my community"......BISD should be one community. What is causing all the issues? It is NOT the media. I think everyone wants what is best for the kids.....and based on the information that has been reported (and investigated) it should not include the existing school board.
