3. Questions: 1.  The vote to take out P.A. had to happen at a board meeting.  The board meetings are public, and all cities are(should) be represented.......Where was P.A.'s representative? 2.  If competition or being "black" was a reason for being voted out, WOS should have gone first, better record and majority black. Why are they still in? 3.  Has anyone tried to contact the board members of the stjfl? IF you go to the website and click "contact us", there is phone numbers of the board members.  I would try this first instead of starting all these RUMORS about the race card and Port Arthur being too much competition. I'll even make it simple and provide the link: [Hidden Content]
vp - you don't understand Beaumont...especially Beaumont blacks.  They have brought racism to the forefront over the last 20+ years.  All they see is color; black and not black, period.  They only care about the black community...well at least the blacks that vote only care about the black community.  They have a 10 ton chip on their should and it is sad.  They are given preferential treatment at every turn yet it still isn't good enough.  You have the school board President going off about how terribly he was treated as a child 50 years ago.  You have black 'leaders' calling white people "the enemy".  Yet, when any white person disagrees with a black in Beaumont he is immediately labeled a racist.  West Brook used to be known as the 'white school'.  For some reason, all of the blacks don't want there to be a 'white school' so they demand that they be allowed to transfer to West Brook.  Now, there are no 'white schools' in Beaumont even though West Brook is somewhat perceived that way since it is about 25 -30% white...basically the only public high school in Beaumont that a white student attends.  Why does that matter?  Because, it goes back to the administrations and the district 'leaders'.  They don't want the 'white school' to be successful in athletics.  They want Central and Ozen to be successful.  Personally, I wanted each high school to have their own football stadium for several reasons.  But, the black "leaders' didn't want that.  As for the facility at West Brook that wasn't completed.  That too goes back to the racist school board.  They didn't want to give the job to a white contractor.  They didn't follow the bid policy and gave it to a black contractor instead.  And the trustees wouldn't back down.  Screw the kids, screw West Brook, screw non blacks.  As for why Stump left.  I seriously doubt it was because of the fieldhouse but it may have played a role.  But it is more likely to do with the overall opportunity vs West Brook.  You've got West Brook in Beaumont with BISD in complete and total disarray.  You've got black leaders actively and overtly promoting racism.  And you've got a continued mass exodus of non-blacks out of Beaumont.  Plus, he will make more money at Atascocita, have more athletes, and have a district that is probably growing and not dying. I'm pretty sure his leaving will be viewed along racial lines as well.  The blacks will say good riddance and the non-blacks will be disappointed.  He did a great job at West Brook, just look at his record.  I hate to see him go but he'd be crazy not to. Sorry to get on a political tirade but it is all connected and it is all tied to Thomas, Reece, etc.
Yes, you can take that miserable masquerade to the locker room or the political forum as this is reserved for FOOTBALL. 13.
Wherever you play, just make sure the fundamentals are taught correctly. That's your foundation for his/her future play. The rest will come in time. Good fundamentals in hitting-throwing and receiving the ball. They will build muscle memory and will make it much easier on them along the way. Eagle07 will agree with me on this.
Thats my point.....TRUE Story.....My son's 2nd year of LL, the coach walked up with "Coaching Youth Baseball the Ripken Way"......never played and never coached.. ;)
 14.
I've never really understood "select" at ages 6-12. Kids are still learning fundamentals of the game at this age and can learn it in league play, while they are still growing mentally and physically. IMO, "select", at least what I would consider the top teams (SunDevils, Houston Heat, Kyle Chapman, etc. ) , are suited better for the older players (14-18) who are trying to get a scholarship. I've seen many parents (who mean well ) spend alot of money and burn their kid out at an early age. Just my two cents.
I respect but disagree with your statement, ,my kid is 10 and I wish we would have started younger.  As I mentioned in another post, the coaching in select is at a much higher level than LL (only speaking from my experience, there may be exceptions). So, I feel if your going to dedicate the time, put them in a program that will benefit them the most.
 15.
i am new to this select stuff, but i was wandering how do i get my son on a select team. we live in port neches and he is 7 yrs old. i would love for him to have the experience
Look on this board for 7U or 8U teams and ask for a tryout.....
 16.
Here is another example: Do you want your kid in AP classes or regular classes? This is what I find most unusual: Nobody says a word if you put your kid in classes that challenge them academically. But try and put them in an athletic situation (Select-& personally I hate the term "select" ) that challenges them with their peers, and it's a whole new ball game of *strikes and errors* thrown at you  from dissidents. ;)
Dove, as much as I ALWAYS disagree with you in the OTHER forum......that is about as truthful of a comment as they come. I think there is nothing wrong with challenging your kid both mentally and physically........ I honestly don't want my kid to be the best on the team......I always want him challenged and striving to do better.......
