2.

....or maybe you don't understand the difference between 1.  Drafting through a pool of kids and forming three (hopefully competive) teams from one metro area. 2.  Having all of the kids from the same area come together, tryout, then selecting the best thirty or so kids to play on a single team and sending everybody else home.  It's funny that the PA League chose not to let a bunch of their own kids play, and is now crying that their "chosen few" aren't allowed to play, either.
you're right........ different rules for  different people, rules are rules
Your a blamer......you blame everyone else for your problems.  I teach my kid just the opposite.  If I found out he was stealing, it would not matter to me if the other kids he was with did not get punished........why?  Because it would not make him any LESS GUILTY....
 3.
Strategic Drafting is Code word for reverse stacking. And Sir, stacking is illegal. So if your doing it for the kids, then PNG is stacking teams by their own admissions and therefore should be handed like it was when PA was caught stacking their team. Let's be fair and do it for the kids, and remove PNG from STJFL. I'm only saying this cause I care for ALL kids not just the ones that are on my son's team.
Strategic  Drafting is just that, no code word I know of.  You pick your players for what you need.  You don't pick the fast small kid if your looking for an offensive lineman......That's what I was talking about. And as far as I know PNG is following the rules. You are the ONLY one I have heard (other than one of the Port Arthur guys  ::)) complain about PNG.  If you think they are cheating, then show up at an STJFL board meeting and speak your mind, but to accuse them on a public message board is childish. Maybe you should go to your league President and have a talk with him.

In my heart your on the mark. But I'm just waiting on all those to jump on the bandwagon and agree with you but then turn right around and strateically draft all the young kids this year and go winless for the great hope to be like IceWater and have a Superbowl trophy collecting dust the following year. My kids haven't won a football game in 2 years because thier coach haven't had the option to strategically draft. How do you think a kids feels when they go 0-8. Ask my kids. But at least that PNG coach can tell them, Son, We have to pay our dues for Coach to get his next year, toughen up kid!
That is a problem with your league or coach, not the STJFL.  Strategic drafting is pefectly legal as long as you follow the rules.
Lol!!!! No understanding .........follow the kids
You know, it sure is a feel good statement to say "do it for the kids" or "it's all about the kids". Shouldn't that be without having to say it?  Now with that said, we as adults have to follow rules. Does that mean we can't coach aggressive and STILL follow the rules?  and One4All, I completely understand. I understand that I want my Son on a winning team versus a losing team if I had my choice.  But you know what, that's not always how it happens.....This past year, his team only won 3 games, and I didn't jump on the forum and talk about how unfair that was, because it's life. Bobcat101 is complaining because her son has not won a game in 2 years.  So, what should we do? Is it the other coaches that have the problem?  Should we not keep score? It's very easy to complain, but usually they complain but don't get involved. If saying "DO IT FOR THE KIDS" makes you feel all warm inside, thats great. I hope it makes you feel complete.  The fact is the league was created FOR THE KIDS, and the coaches that take all the parents crap are doing it FOR THE KIDS. It's teams that BREAK THE RULES  are the ones you should be upset with. Ok.....I'm done  :)

 6.
I have read these pages until my head started hurting and I have came up with two conclusions: #1. There are very many opinions on this situation and neither party whether for or against is going to persuade the other at this time!! #2. I feel very, very sorry for the kids who are not allowed to play, because they are the ones who are suffering and did not ask to be placed in this situation. These kids signed up for the opportunity to be involved in a sport that is supposed to build character, fair play, and most importantly respect for one another! Regardless of how any of us feel about the situation, we need to remember that the children are what's most important. They (including the cheerleaders who are also there performing their hearts out) should be the focus of our attention, not how many Super Bowl trophies we have above the fireplace, so we can brag to our buddies during Holiday parties! I think that the STJFL should reevaluate the whole spectrum of things and implement new ways to ensure their main priority as well as the adults involved and remember that "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS"--  GOD bless everyone and see you all next year!  ;) ;)
Icewater......I felt everything you said.......but you HAVE to follow the rules....... and I must say You and WOS has ALWAYS done that!

AND RACE WAS NOT THE ISSUE (ALL THE WAY). IT WAS ABOUT TALENT AND TALENT IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS. EVERYONE WANTS TO WIN AND WHEN YOU HAVE AN ORGANIZATION WHICH IS USED TO CERTAIN TEAMS WINNING AND DOMINATING THE GAME, NEW COMERS ARE NOT AS WELCOME IF THEY ARE HUGE COMPETITION.  MY POST WERE TRUE AND THE CONVERSATION THAT WAS HAD WITH THE STJFL HEAD ALSO CONFIRMED MY THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ABOUT WHAT WENT ON IN THIS LEAGUE THAT NO ONE SHOULD BE PROUD OF. ****IN SAYING THIS......I GOT THE ANSWER I WAS LOOKING FOR, AND FOR PORT ARTHUR PEOPLE THAT ARE UPSET AND POSTING COMMENTS, JUST KNOW THAT "MOST" OF THE THINGS WERE TRUE! ***THIS WILL BE MY LAST POST ABOUT STJFL BECAUSE THAT IS THE PAST! AND RECEIVED THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION ON "WHY PORT ARTHUR WAS KICKED OUT" PORT ARTHUR WILL PLAY IN 2012 AND WILL ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS IN ANOTHER LEAGUE THAT ARE NOT STEROTYPICAL AND UNFAIR. GO TITANS 2012 !!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone who believes this, private message me, I have some ocean front property in Kansas I can give you a GREAT deal on.   The arrogance of this post should tell it all.  Port Arthur broke rules, sent kids home after the draft(if they even had one), and disobeyed (by their own admission) stipulations that were given to them by the STJFL. Does he include ANY of that as the reason they were VOTED out?  No, it's much easier to blame someone else for your problems than starring in that mirror and seeing who really is at fault.      Although, it's disturbing that ADULTS can't admit when they are at fault and to own up to their actions, it should be illegal to teach kid's to do the same thing.      As a matter of fact TITANS22011, you can't even follow the simple rules of this forum:   6) NO SHOUTING!!- (Use of "Caps Lock") The standard practice on most message boards, forums, emails, web pages, etc. is that the use of all caps is regarded as SHOUTING!!     Hopefully you have learned something this past season and will follow the rules in your new league.  More importantly, you teach the kids to take responsibility for their own actions and not blame others.
 9.
BigTitan at that game you talking about when the score was run up looks bad on yall but it happpens like that sometimes. You call off the dogs on offense but you cant stop a defense score and you dont ever let you team shut down for nobody. If a team cant stop your 2 or 3 string thats on them. People on here think if the game was 40-0 that you put your players that need they plays in when its 30-0 before the last 10 seconds. But things happen but until you been a coach you dont know how hard that is. I had kids they dont want no part of offense and thats hard if you only keep D in 4 and out. Most the coaches in STJFL do respect the FIGHT in a team from PA or anywhere. For the stacking all I can tell you is what I heard and I already said on here.... and yes I said HEARD so I cant speak for it exactly but I know this dude well that told me. The problem with the PA teams was that the signups was cut off 3 months early for all PA and they paperwork was all messed up. He say that the thing about the cuts came up later. I could see why that a problem because most the signups come right before football start up and PA might of had more teams if they followed the rule. That was about all the PA teams so thay all got put out the playoffs. It might not been on purpose by PA but they cant let teams that did it right go against teams that cut off early but they DID let them play the year.  Last I was told was STJFL was waiting to hear from PA president to see if thay could work things out so maybe you ask him to try and call STJFL president to get the answer. I can talk about the PNG teams because I know how that works. I saw both them teams play that was 8-0 and 0-8 and it was more about the coach. Well not all because the one team had a player you could build around. I heard on here that hes not the hole team and thats true but you take him off and they maybe a 4-4 team or put him on the 0-8 team and they 4-4 too.... He just that good. The same thing happen when he was in peewee when they went to the superbowl and won.  Not talking bad about any coach but most of them is dads and they are some good ones like the bad ones and most not a pro coach. We all been faced with race from a young age and that didnt change from when I was a kid. It always come from the parents and that is sad. In this area for sure because we all so close we dont need to be split so hard. I had to talk to my kids like you say you talk to yours and it goes both ways though. I had a white kid come tell me a black kid told him some stuff on the field too and that was a 7 year old peewee game. It start way too early for these kids to deal with. That why I was so mad when I saw PA make this into a race thing when I know better. That makes every thing worse. If yall want people on here to know your side then you need to listen more then you talk and get all sides. And most importatnt is dont make it about what its not. I was told more then once that STJFL wanted PA to change some of yall board out. I dont know why they told you that just like I dont know why yall didnt do what they said. But yall both had a right to make the choice yall made and things didnt work out right. Now yall got a new choice to stay on here and hate or move on to bigger and better. I truely hope PA land on yalls feet where ever that is!
I'm not sure who you are or where your from, but I like you! That was a great post and I hope everyone reads it........If you look deep enough, it goes WAY past youth sports!!
 10.
Don't yall just love it when it is said that there is better coaches in select than little league. If the same coach coaches select and little league does he turn on a "Better Coach" switch when they go to select. I have coached both leagues and I have loved every minute of it. While on select teams there is better talent through out the team because you can select players, in little league you have to draft players and some players have not advanced in talent as quickly as others. But all players have a general love for the game. I believe that is where the better coaches come from. In little league, if little Tommy in right field gets a ball hit to him and he throws it ten feet in front of him trying to reach second base, some will say "can't that coach teach him how to throw a ball". I say well he was throwing to the right place. If the same thing happen in select ball some will say "boy that coach has him burning that ball to second". I think what is hurting both leagues is the scheduling. Some cities play little league on Saturdays and some do not. Some of the smaller cities Saturday games means a lot of money. Also, some select coaches refuse to let there player play in other leagues. I think is bad. I say let them play both, because if you ask a young player they mite want to play with there school friends, not just teammates.
Usually, there are better coaches in select than LL.  In league ball you sometimes get a Dad that was nice enough to volunteer because of lack of coaches. That's not a bad thing, it's actually a good thing. However, if that Dad did not play baseball, he would probably not make the best coach or be able to teach fundamentals..  There are exceptions, but usually an experienced coach is better than a Dad coach. I am/was not taking away from ANY coach in any division. Having coached myself, I appreciate what they do on any level. We are also playing LL and Select. My Son wants to be able to play with his friends and I don't blame him.

This next statement has nothing to do with wanting to rejoin STJFL. Its just my Opinion.  In life, people  do make mistakes, and aren't given the death penalty.  Why can't anyone understand that in your first year everything isn't going to go smooth.  That doesn't mean that the rules that were broken were intentional.  To some of you (I've been reading) lol, its black and white.  Its simple, they TRIED TO "CHEAT".  That's too easy of an explanation to be the truth.  Sometimes you have to really investigate the situation and see what happened and you'll really  find out that it wasn't intentional at all.  You may not believe it, but a lot of these kids play together on other teams (other sports), and these coaches coach other sports also, so do you think these volunteers (coaches) would intentionally cut kids because they want a STACKED team.  If you believe that, you're dead wrong.  I know these guys personally, and I won't lie for anybody.  I totally understand the playoff situation, BUT why not just that team?  Why the entire league, on down to the flag kids?  Come up with an answer for that.  That was a sign from the league of what they really thought about PA.  I would rather see my son COMPETE (lets not forget that word when discussing football)  against the best and LOSE, than to WIN and dodge real competion.  Thats just me.  Regardless of if a team is "STACKED" or not, these kids are all the same age, and I will NEVER allow my son to be intimidated by another kid HIS OWN AGE because he's somehow better.  Like I said baby, in PA, "We FIght, We Fight, We Fight". lol You Fellas  Be Blessed.  Fight On, All Teams BigTitan out!!! lol
that's a lot of words to say we "didn't mean to cheat" or "we didn't mean to break the rules"  ::)
If thats what you got from my post, then it is what it is. Like I said, be blessed.  Fight on, ALL teams.  PA isn't the first to unknowingly break a rule, and they wont be the last.  What do you have to say about PNG having a undefeated team, another good team, and a winless team.???  If you can't answer that logically, then please kill the PA Jr team being Stacked issue.  Last time I heard, they LOST 2 games.  Not undefeated, like PNG W or winless like PNG G.  That is a huge disparity for coaches that say they don't stack their teams.  Obviously, someone got a better deal with their team. Try explaining that fact and please make sense.
Well, we are at 12 pages of post and you still have not found your answer.  I think we can have 20 pages of post, and you still won't find your answer.  I would be focusing on the ones that do know the answer.  I also feel that no matter the answer, you guys are not going to like it. You guys feel cheated and no one is going to change your mind.  We have speculated from racism to talent and would bet neither of those went into the decision to vote you guys out. I also think the more we hear speculation from the P.A. team, the worse your organization looks. That is solely based on my opinion.  I grew up in P.A. and have many good memories from that town. You guys have great talent, I wish you the best.
 14.
So, should be the title of this thread actually read, " Is Select Baseball Ruining Pitchers?"
You know, it's funny that this topic somehow comes up everytime youth baseball (select or league) is talked about.  Every team my son has ever played on, the coach (some good and some very, very bad) was always concerned about the number of throws the pitcher made.  I think there may be a few(very few) coaches that would risk a childs arm for a game, but I would say 99% of the coaches care more about the kids than the win. Just my view........

I keep bring what other teams have done because it keeps being said what we have done. BUT NEVERTHELESS, the facts are clear......STFJL NEVER WANTED PORT ARTHUR IN THE 1ST PLACE!!!!!! And to be honest if a STJFL BOARD MEMBER: would come on here and admitt the truth or just say: WE NEVER LIKED PA, NEVER WANTED PA TO BE IN, NEVER WANTED TO PLAY PA.......then i will end this thread and move on! So how about you get with your people and have them get back to me!
Good luck in your mission.... and I have to be honest, they are not "my people".  I would appreciate you not lumping me in to that group. I'm not sure if you think because I'm white I have to agree and support all white people.  If you do think that, it would be a VERY untrue statement.  I'm a free thinker and make my own decisions based on facts at hand.
 20.
My question is what made league ball the standard?  Why couldn't one say league ball is hurting select ball?
The biggest difference between the two is coaching. As a general rule you will get better coaching from a select league. Most select players play league for fun. I don't see how league would hurt select.....
 21. LMBO.....this thread is going no where..... You keep defending yourself by bringing up other teams........Some of these teams have been in the league a LONG time......it was your first year and you screwed up........end of story,,,,,,

Its not about know it all...its about them giving a reason to why! Once it was said that STJFL WANTED CERTAIN PEOPLE OUT, there was no reason to that either......STOP READING TO HARD AT WHAT IS BEING TYPED!
Its all about what you know because thats how all this mess got started when you said nobody told you nothing. Then your president got on here and said he didnt know nothing either. I put what I had heard about PA board members and all the sudden you know everything the is to know about the situation with 2 people being told to leave.  You the one that said it so nobody reading too deep!. STJFL has that right to do what they want because your in they world and you was new. Yall broke they rules then blame them for not reading it to you. The rules is right there for the world to see I just went and looked at it! Its not STJFL fault you didnt go read the rules before you got started. They dont owe you nothing.... when they say get rid of so and so or yall be gone you got a choice to do what they say or find a new yard to play at. Yall made a choice and now yall blame everybody else and make it about everything but what it is.... All about race or somebody afraid of your talent when yall know that not true. Just because you dont agree with STJFL dont make you a victim. If you dont like it go cry with them kids you sent home after they did a week of practice because I KNOW they didnt deserve what they got! Then you come on here and say its all about the kids. Last thing I got is yall come on here saying people dont need to hide behind usernames then you come on here and call people out by they real name because you think they owe you something.... you a class act! If this the way yall acted all year its no wonder you gone.
Your right about them "NOT OWING US NOTHING!" Its about the right things to do! I guess your word is better than everyone elses. I guess your on the board to know that KIDS WERE SENT HOME AFTER A WEEK OF PRACTICE...........casue I'm sure that wasn't made public or posted on any website! Just like how PA was punished by NOT BEING ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PLAYOFFS and a Nederland Parent stated that our games don't matter AT A GAME. I guess that punishment was posted on a website too! OPEN INFORMATION! Yeah right! Its all about STJFL didn't want PA in their league in the 1st place! The had not reason to not let us in and any reason to put us out! ALL THIS WAs DONE SO THAT STJFL CAN SAY....WE GAVE THEM A CHANCE! I AM JUST GOING TO BE HONEST....PA DIDN'T DESERVE TO GET PUT OUT....AND FOR THIS I HOPE STJFL LOSES EVERYTHING THEY HAVE EVER ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!!!!!SORRY FOR THE KIDS...MAYBE THEY CAN GO TO A BETTER LEAGUE WHICH TEACHES THEM MORE ABOUT WHATS RIGHT AND FAIR, THAN WHATS EASY TO DO!!!!!!!!
You keep mentioning it's all about the kids.  Well, if it was all about the kids, why did the board members and coaches from the P.A. league make mistakes? You call them mistakes, but they were really rules that were broken. All of the below statements were made from the post of Titans2011: 1.  "Yes PA made mistakes at the beginning during registration and cut off dates". (mistakes = broken rules) 2.  "They want to blame PA and not take responsibility by showing or explaining to a 1ST TIME TEAM the procedures".  (who's not taking responsibility of their own actions???.......the rules are in black and white and written in easy to read language......) 3.  "Some of the PA board didnt like the punishment they got and caused a lot of problems all year, BUT NOT ONCE WERE THOSE PROBLEMS BROUGHT UP AT A BOARD MEETING". (you don't deny your board members caused problems all year, but you blame the STJFL for not bringing it up at a board meeting?........really?  Why not blame the folks that were causing the problems?) 4.  "STJFL told the president that 2 CERTAIN members had to leave the ENTIRE ORGANIZATION in order to stay. BUT ONCE AGAIN IF THOSE 2 MEMBERS WERE SO BAD THEY COULDN'T FIND REASONS TO KICK THEM OUT DURING THE ENTIRE SEASON!" (The STJFL by your own statement told 2 members to leave. Again, your organization is NOT following directions. If you wanted to stay in the league, just follow the directions you are given. 5.  "I guess your on the board to know that KIDS WERE SENT HOME AFTER A WEEK OF PRACTICE" (no matter how he found out, the truth is it happened......is it all about the kids EXCEPT for those kids? ) 6.  "The had not reason to not let us in and any reason to put us out!" (your organization broke the rules, they had every reason to do what they did.) So, instead of calling out STJFL board members by name, why don't you reflect on the mistakes your organization made to make sure that does not happen in the next league your team gets involved in. Every league is going to have rules and expect them to be followed. If you think you can go to a different league and not follow their rules, your going to be disappointed again.......
 23. We are now going back 7-12 years ago??  I thought this thread was started by Bigtitan to try and figure out why P.A. was voted out?

Now, I will offer a correction.  What happened to me was as a flag coach for the Orange Cobras organization, it happened a few years back, but it DID NOT happen at an STJFL event.  Big Titan's did.  My point was that racism is alive and well, no matter what we may work toward...there will always be individuals that behave hat way.  Is the STJFL racist?  I don't beleive it is.  What has happened is that they are offering no reasons as to their actions.  That is troublesome, and something that might end up in a bigger court of public opinion where they will not have the luxury of having a thread locked to help them remain silent.
That sure sounds like a bunch of opinions for only hearing one side of the story! I'm not saying it's right or it's wrong. I'm just saying there are two sides to every story.
TD, what I find strange is it went from "we have no clue" to knowing about specific issues that were not brought up before.
