Now granted they got caught and will, and should, serve the punishment but that does not automatically make them a bad kid. If my friends and I where caught doing half of the stuff we did in high school we would be in Levinworth, but believe it or not we all turned out to be good dads, docs, coaches, buisness owners, lawyers, and best of all Christians.
Man, I remember during high school ??? Well anyway, some of yall weren't caught thats my point.
I hear ya Blue.....!!!!!LOL
Man.......you guys just made me think of some of the things we did in high School.......... I'll be back........I need to go to Church! ;D
3 children (girl aged 4 and 2 boys aged 7 and 9) will have a Merry Christmas this year thanks to the sportsmanship and generosity of the STJFL/Lonestar youth football leagues. The money raised from our concession combined with a couple of donations I had from private individuals towards this football project was enough that these children will have a GREAT Christmas and the parents will have plenty of food on the table for the holiday season. My friends this is what sportsmanship is all about. I think this turned out better than my HJ coaches, and the Bridge City coaches expected, and would love to see it become a holiday tradition. Thank you to all who participated Richard Morreale
COOL!!
Any ideas on resources for youth football camps in Texas? I was thinking it might be fun to go to a few with my son this summer. Birddog
Looked into that for this past summer. I wanted to put my son in a contact camp, not just a drill camp.....which is all that is offered in our area. If you do that, plan on droping $800.00 - $1200.00 for a week. Most of them practice full contact and have a game the last day.

Pop Warner tackles concussions
thetragichippy replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think the biggest problem has to be how to recognize a concussion. Coaches and parents have to be better prepared to recognize the systems. Currently do any organizations require some “first aid / medical examination training? Question does anyone remember back in the 80’s a San Francisco 49’er playing with a soft cover over his helmet? If so who was it and why? I have thought for years now that would lessen a helmet to helmet blow.
How about a "standard" for helmet quality. Our league purchased new helmets a couple years ago. My son didn’t get one, he got the old type with hard Styrofoam in it. After a couple weeks he complained of headaches. I broke down and purchased a $200.00 helmet with air bladders. The headaches disappeared. Luckily this year he got one of the new ones with the air padding. I have a silver youth small for sale.....it's a DNA -

considering Barbay is the #4 winnest coach in Texas high school Football history I would have to move him up to a least number 3, Dan hooks is a hundred or so wins behind Barbay so how can that be a tie.
because Hooks has had absolutely no talent to work with. ;D
lol

STJFL junior champions VS. LONESTAR junior champions
WOS has a great Football team. Before you go slamming the HJ Jr. and Sr. Hawks you may want to look at the back of everyone of their helmets. Yep you guessed it a big ole #12. Maybe our HS team is not the best (at the moment) but why not take a look at our graduation rate, TAK's passing %, and SAT scores or better yet I can go to great schools web site and directly compare HJ and WOS but trust me you would not want to see that posted on here. School sports are nice but an education will get you a lot further.
That discussion should be handled in another thread, if at all. This is a sports thread and we are talking about football. Stay on subject,. -
NO, NO NO Hippy you gotta read like 8 pages buddy!!!
Name the date and time........I'm ready for a few beers. ALSO, a plug for my band......Friday, Dec 3rd at the GIG on Crockett Street(the old Antones), by band is playing there. You should drop by for a drink. I think you could handle some rock and roll !
I was trying to give WOS a compliment........meaning I was not sure a senior team could beat them. The superbowl is over, we lost......BUT we got there, only losing to WOS. I'd say we had a pretty good year. ;)
Sounds like yall did have a good season. Losing to WOS Jr. team is no reason to hang your head. They are very talented and don't lose too many games. As for all of this other non sense about anyone running that's just a pot stirer. Congratulations to all that enjoyed the season. Seams there are still a couple of teams playing. Good luck and make memories that are never forgotten.
Your the man TD........Good Post!

[img][Hidden Content]]
Homer pick but I'm going with WOS. That being said I only know what one team has. Good luck Mustangs.
TD.....There is a reason WOS is the #1 seed in the superbowl. They are very good. There is also a reason Lumberton Red is there with them. The boys have been working hard. Hopefully it's a close, injury free game......with red by 2 TD's ;D
If that happens then Red earned it. I just cant see WOS giving up that many points and that means that you would have to shut them out. Not likely to happen but I don't know much about Red. I hope it's a good game, injury free and WOS by 1 or 100 still a win baby.
yahh from stjfl.net , neither team gave up alot of points , but in order to beat wos by 2 that means you would have to stop #4 from scoring and no team has done it this year..he is prolly the leading rusher in all divsions but well see saturday which is getting closer...good luck both teams and lum red keep #4 in your dreams!!!!!
You are correct.......but Red was the only team that limited WOS to 3 touchdowns(18 pts). They average (not including playoff games) 34.5 points per game. It's going to be a good game. WOS has some great coaches and I respect them.......but Lumberton has it's share of great coached to! -

The white team never scored a first down the whole game and red was kicking field goals with almost 50 points on the board! ::) Ive never seen anything like that from rival towns even. Coaches will pull the quarterback when the game got out of control but not this game. Red kept their quarterback and number 1 till the end. Not starting trouble but I am glad my kids dont go to Lumberton. WOS takes superbowl by 20 points!
1. That field goal was the first one made this year. (Had a better chance of not making it than making it) 2. Per the rules we took out our entire back field when the spread was achieved. 3. Last year score: Lum White Jr 37 Lum Red Jr 0 And you are trying to start trouble, so do it with your own city. Based on your attitude, I agree with you......I'm glad your kids don't go to Lumberton either. ;)
1. No matter what the chances were, you got a 2 pointer at 48 to 0 2. I know I saw 1 with the ball in the 4rth quarter and I thought he was a primary back, but maybe he isnt. I didnt know it was a rule but it should be. 3. Like I said yalls coaches hate each other. I don't remember white and red in the playoff last year but still 50 is a lot bigger than 37 Who said red cheated by scouting or that other mess? That must be a ltown thing back to hating I cant find anything here about it.
The score was 49 to 0, not 50. It was an extra point NOT a field goal. An extra point is 1 point. ::) And a field goal is 3 points, and a catch in the endzone is 2 points. Also, Red and White played in week 4 or 5. Red did not make playoff's. If your gonna talk crap, at least get facts straight. -
