  1. I think the flare thing has to do with what size boat you have and where you are fishing. I was stopped a couple years ago and was warned about flares because I was fishing Sabine lake and I need them there. If I were fishing Rayburn or Toledo, I do not need them. I still don't have them, guess I need to get some.
  2. My father always used to tell me that the LA game wardens could take your boat and all the property if they caught you breaking laws without a license. Not sure how true it is, but I make sure I'm on the straight and narrow when in Sabine lake.
  3. I don't think it's the sole reason, however, teaching the fundamentals at an early age helps improve the skills once they hit Jr. high and HS......IMO I was also not trying to take anything away from the hard work that the students and coaches do at the high school level, just another aspect of the entire program.
  4. The first winning season was the first year the team benefited from the Lumberton Youth Football programs. Now we are like most others and start them out at 5 years old playing flag........ P.S.........Gonna rock this year
  5. I have more if someone else needs one to fish with. We need to get together with Bullets in a couple weeks and go to sabine lake. I might take you up on the flyrod offer....I dont remember what kind of shape mine is in. Would be fun catching reds or specs on a flyrod.
  6. Yeah but I think it is a gimmick really. I guess you can verbally commit at 5 years old if you want to but by NCAA rules, it is obviously not allowed. This is nothing more than a father making an over the top pitch for his son and his alma mater. He might have "committed" to Tennessee but I'll bet Tennessee hasn't accepted. I think that the kid's father is trying to vicariously live his youth again through his son, possibly at the son's expense... which I guess is why you think that it is not right.... and I agree. I just don't think it is much more than a publicity stunt. publicity stunt.........might put pressure on the HS coach to start him
  7. I'm sure you were planning on this anyway, but check with the local PETA before you use any live bait ;D
  8. It's a big overpass type bridge. with a hump in the middle. I don't know what you call it, but it will be pretty tall. gonna miss the draw bridge......not many left
  9. Sorry man, have not been up there in a while. If you fish near the south end, I can tell you some of my favorite areas,.
  10. You know, I never had an ambulance call for that. However, I was facing away and kinda to the side. I never looked at the tire while it was airing up.....the crazy thing it was the one I just aired, not the one I was airing. If you have never been around one, it's loud....I mean LOUD.
  11. I had my travel trailer set up on a location for the last 5 years. I tried to move it this weekend and man, what a job. I thought I was prepared, brought tools, spare tire and air compressor. I put air in all 4 tires (all were low as they were sitting there for 5 years). I pulled it out and decided to air the tires up to recommended pressure. I had completed 3 and was airing 4 when #3 exploded. When I say exploded.....I MEAN EXPLODED!! A buddy of mine has a camp about a mile away and HE heard it! It damaged my trailer, broke off some metal and scared me to death. I was 2 feet away (airing the tire next to it) and sheer luck it exploded away from me. I inspected the other tires and they were all dry rotted. So, I removed them and will be getting new tires. The tires looked "OK" on the outside, but a detailed inspection was needed to see the dry rot. Just remember, ALWAYS be careful when airing up tires......I had heard they can do that, but this is the first time it has happened to me. If it would have hit me, it would of left a mark!
  12. I've been lucky to never get seasick. However, if you do start to get seasick............get a rope, life jacket and jump overboard. Anyone ever been seasick swimming? never tried it, but it makes sense!
  13. I brought the boat back from camp........I'm tied up the next two weekends, but after that I'm taking you fishing bullets! sweet! just let me know!!! will you bait my hook for me? ;D ;D ;D As long as you supply the beer! ;D
  14. If he gets his GED and goes to college, whats the big deal? If he gets 10 million and invests it smartly, at that age, he's set for life. What would concern me is dealing with all that the money brings..........drugs, women, fame, and all the evils that go along with it. I hope his Father has a plan for that!
  15. I brought the boat back from camp........I'm tied up the next two weekends, but after that I'm taking you fishing bullets!
  16. Anyone know when the STJFL website will update to 2009?
  17. just a shout out to the members of Lumberton Youth football for a great start to a fantastic football camp. It was well thought out and the kids are having a great time!!
  18. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to establish what race a person is nor his/her parallel of interest. : : Anyone can join, its not based on race.
  19. If I recall, when I applied for membership to this site, it didn't ask me what color I was. So, how could anyone justify asking what percentage of any race is on here. This is a clear case of bring up race just for the controversy.
  20. I personally don't know what color anyones skin is.......wait, take that back, I believe Gabe is Mexican. Also, to be a moderator I think...(pretty sure)...almost positive, you have to obey the posted rules. Unfortunately, that leaves out the two guys that I know are black.........sorry Dove and Dick ;D
