Typical. I'll say one thing abou this story. I have a feeling this board is going to get a little testy before it's over Typical? Tell me why you would consider this racial profiling? Plus, you better be nice to me. My boy Quanell X will be in a town near you 8) A little history about "your boy" from Wikipedia® Quanell was a drug dealer in the Sunnyside community located in southern Houston, Texas. In May 1989 he spent a brief time in jail and received 10 years probation for possessing and dealing crack cocaine. It was during this time that Quanell claims to have had a life changing conversion and decided he would devote his life to the betterment of African-Americans in Houston. In 1995, Quanell was quoted in the New York Daily News as saying, "I say to Jewish America: Get ready … knuckle up, put your boots on, because we're ready and the war is going down. … The real deal is this: Black youth do not want a relationship with the Jewish community or the mainstream white community or the foot shuffling, head-bowing, knee bobbing black community. … All you Jews can go straight to heck."[4] Quanell was forced out of the Nation of Islam for publicly inciting violence with his televised, and highly publicized, exhortation to Houston-area blacks: "if you feel that you just got to mug somebody because of your hurt and your pain, go to River Oaks and mug you some good white folks. If you’re angry that our brother is put to death, don’t burn down your own community, give these white folks heck from the womb to the tomb. Dove, I hope this is not your mentor! Do I sense tension brewing already? I have a prediction that by the time I get back from my KKK meeting, the thread will be locked! ;D ;D THAT WAS A JOKE FOR BLUEDOVE! I despise the KKK as much as the black panthers! I grew up one house down from Khallid Abdul Muhammad. Don't mess with me hippy! LMAO.......we should all meet for beers!!

Typical because YOU would feel it's not profiling. Team Bush were masters at profiling. I just had to input a little *Bush* Answer all the question! ???

"Our goal is to send a message to the Lumberton Police Department that the community will not tolerate what has happened to the LaDay family," said Quanell X. "We feel this is a case of racial profiling." GIVE ME A BREAK! Did he not read the article? They were called because a car was in the ditch! I appreciate what they "THINK" they are doing, but they are causing more harm than good!

Maybe. It is going to be 10 people in five boats or is it going to be 10 posters with some bringing friends/relatives and maybe have 8 boats? I think you can have a decent tournament that is really just for fun with a few boats. A maximum of five (especially with a no show bringing it to four) may be a different issue. I have fished a tournament with seven boats and it was fun and still competitive. I'm good with it..............how about everyone else??

In today's world we seem to over analyze everything. The cop reacted to I'm sure what he thought was a threat to the other kids. If he had not reacted and let the kid walk a few more steps, what if the kid attacked another student? Then we would be analyzing why he didn't react! We are going to make it so difficult to be a cop, that people will not want to do that job. -
Went back and read the topic again because I couldn't remember any negative statements about the STJFL board. You're gonna have to point it out for me because I still can't find it. We don't know when the STJFL has meetings and wouldn't have a voice if we did so we hope you get ideas from other volunteers on this site. The board members did read it, discussed it in the meetings, acted on it, and we appreciate the value of our input. This is the best run sports organization in the area because of the combined efforts of the STJFL board the local boards and all other volunteers that get involved. You can't please everybody but don't start throwing rocks at folks giving input to make it better. I think I need to get "nice Lessons" from TeamRaider!

Gonna show my age, but anyone remember back in the day when you could fight at school and it was no big deal? My father always told me to never back down from a fight, but always fight where you were confronted. I had a fight in a classroom and the cafeteria. We got paddled and headed back to class. this was in the early 80's. Things have certainly changed. BTW, not saying thats right or wrong. -

You can argue your point all you want, but your account of the situation makes little sense. I realize that some cops are bad, just like some people are bad. I'm sure if the cop did anything wrong, it will come out. I was not there, but the witnesses that were tell a completely different story. The credibility of your story might be taken a little more serious if you form complete sentences and use a period every once in a while. -
The reputation I have heard is the typical politics that you hear about every sport. I guess I got offended because it was dropped in December and you came back in April continuing the negativity. Land Shark asked a pretty nonthreatening question and you kinda went off. I'm sure your a nice guy, I may have taken your comments a little to negative, but I guess the "better off without you" comment struck a nerve. No organization (including the government) will not have complainers and people who question the system. That's why I live in the USA......for my right to do just that. I to, am sorry if I came across too rough, looking forward to discussing things with you in the future.

I don't like to beat around the bush either. The last negative comment was in December, so why start it up again. The first post this month simply ask a question that could of been answered politely. Second, we have every right to discuss whatever we want on this board, that's the sole reason for it's existence. It's your attitude that gives the STJFL is reputation. From the STJFL website, " It shall be the mission of this organization to implant the importance of academics, good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, integrity, and courage of the children, parents, coaches and volunteers for the betterment of all involved in this organization now and for years to follow." Your attitude showed lack of good sportsmanship and integrity. You should go back and read your By laws!

Thanks for verifying. I guess he's in charge of Public Relations :

also pay attention to the times and locations. High tide in Galveston is not at the same time as Sabine Pass.

We are hoping one of the last two Saturdays in May will be good to have the tournament. It was a straight up tie, so we are undecided if it will be a fresh or salt tournament. So far, Bullets, TVC and myself are going to set this up. Once we find a date, we will go with a location. If you have any questions, post them or PM me. Let's get this thing GOIN!!!!!

SETX Sports Fishing Tournament?
thetragichippy replied to bullets13's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
well, lets get this thing going. Who wants to set it up or help?? Its a tie 8-8 for fresh or salt. It matters not to me. I'm more familiar with Bass tournaments than salt. So, if we do salt, I will need help. If we do fresh, I say largest stringer. So, we need some volunteers..........who's up for it?? Suggestion, we do $25.00 per person and fish teams of 2, so 50 dollars a boat. After determining how many boats we will have, we can figure out how many places will pay. What do y'all think??
