  1. Yup......I am still so confused how this mastermind was so easily caught.......considering how well organized his plan was........
  2. I better not ever hear you come someone for lumping races together then......
  3. I'm glad it's not just me. I've moved to my childhood house temporarily and I must say it is VERY different than Lumberton. While a street over is Groves, I still hear sirens all through the night, but so far no issues.....but I make dang sure the door are locked and gun is handy.....which I didn't do too much in Lumberton.
  4. Is it me or is there a ridiculous amount of murders happening in Beaumont last few months?
  5. That is a great question. If it is not illegal to do something while driving, and you do it but get in an accident...........does it then become illegal and the cause? If I'm driving and day dreaming and miss a stop sign and kill someone.......accident or negligence? If I'm eating and run that same stop sign with same result......accident or negligence? I honestly have mixed feelings about the answer...
  6. I posted this on a few Facebook post for the people that want her to spend many years in jail. We have all been distracted behind the wheel, from looking at a CD, to picking something up off the floor, to looking in the backseat yelling at kids. Unless we want all at fault fatal accidents to be manslaughter, we better be careful how we charge folks. We are all one spit second wrong decision away from having a bad accident. My thoughts are the cops may have thought she was intoxicated, charged her, and had to back peddle when her results came in.....or maybe she refused to blow and the charged her.......I have not found any articles that clarify.
  7. But you did ...." I think the min age is a fair requirement, and think a max age should absolutely be put in place."
  8. I doubt this was his first trip down the road with that license plate. I wonder how long he's been getting away with it........I mean, that plate sounds like an invitation to be stopped, and Lumberton does not play when it comes to traffic citations.....living in Lumberton you learn very quickly not to speed....
  9. Loss control. I was coming from bridge city to 39th and twin city for a 10-50 major. It was after a rain. We had another ambulance coming down 39th from park place to meet us. I could see them approaching the intersection and starting to slow down, I was about 2 blocks away. Then The lights seem to speed up and then an abrupt stop. They hydroplaned and rear ended a car…..now instead of two wrecks, there were three. Accidents do happen.
  10. Thoughts because I wanted to see if everyone was thinking like I was.....lol (you made me) This entire situation is tough for me. A kid may be weird, have anger issues, but not necessarily want to kill their parents or blow up a school.....or commit mass murder. How, as a parent do you know? I think we have talked about this, but Darrin Mayfield. His parents were good as gold, raised two other kids who turned out fine. Darrin kills an old man and a 6 year old and steals Lamar's tuition money......He's spending his life in prison, should his parents have be charged? I don't think so. Also, how may kids own or have been given guns in Texas and Louisiana? I may be a bad parent, but I trained my kid as soon as I could on gun safety and how to hold a gun. To me, someone breaking into your home will not wait for you to turn on the lights and fumble with a key or combo so you can retrieve your gun and shoot them. He knew if he wanted to look at my gun, he could ask and I would let him every single time. I wanted no mystery about the gun. If my son at 17 takes his hunting rifle and shoots someone, I should be charged? Heck, what if he drinks my beer, drives and kills someone....I know we don't have all the info, but this could set an unwanted precedent....IMO TVC,,,,,school me....
  11. Ok…..I has always heard they did not need search warrant…..good to know now.
  12. I have heard game wardens have a ridiculous amount of power, but didn't know about the rest of it. 14 days seems like a long time for the bartender giving some lip service LOL.
  13. That is simply a mistake that I doubt I could live with......
  14. My buddy just bought a sailboat(26’ I believe) and it’s in a slip at the marina. I’m surprised there is no issues with the one officer split so thin. I’m also amazed that only one officer handles downtown.
  15. I remember back in the day pleasure island had its own security or police force. Is that still around or does the PAPD patrol that now? I don’t see how an occasional pass by a patrol car could make that place safe. BTW, I’m back in PA for a couple years, so we need to do some fishing this spring.
  16. So dark out there, seems like a great place to dump a body…..
  17. That actually did make sense! - Thanks
  18. So you can use force to remove someone from your property, just not deadly force. If the person you are trying to remove escalates the force to over power you, since you provoked the initial force, is deadly force off the table and you have to take the beating if it gets that serious? I like these conversations, as many have no clue and do not read up on the law, just take Facebook advice.
  19. There is no way he will ever be the same. I can't even let my mind think about it.....
