Well, here is the Confederate Flag.... They are taking down a BATTLE flag...... but most will think it's the Confederate Flag.....Since the CNN poll claimed 57% of America thought of the battle flag as heritage, I'm curious to see what happens at election time.....

The crime has to stop, which means people will need to go to jail.....some will not want to go, which will result in death......Media will twist it to fit their agenda, and protest will continue. We need strong politicians that will support the greater good and a President that will stay out of States business......

​What is wrong with adding to the police that already work there? There has to be good law abiding people in that area that would take the job. But think about it Buddy......if you were a cop anywhere, and you had to shoot someone. ......based on media opinions, would you feel like the community would be on your side? I would be afraid of it spinning out of control and my butt ends up in jail. That is the first thing that needs to be fixed, and I think it starts with responsible news reporting.

​Thank you for not discounting my post. To me, the right thing to do would be to hire more police and start cracking down on street crime. The problem with that idea, is violent criminals are typically stupid and will challenge or threaten the cops, resulting in cops killing criminals.....Then the media and other criminals will spin the "black lives matter" and here we go again. If you ran the city, what would you do?

Slavery did not come up until later..... Abraham Lincoln wanted to colonize all the slaves in South America because he felt they were lesser than white people and would not do well in society. But he gets the credit for freeing the slaves

States Rights.....The Constitution.....and the facts that the South felt like they were not being represented fairly.

That issue has not got enough steam to make it as a subject for the next board meeting. The poll shows that 57% of Americans see the flag more as a symbol of Southern pride than as a symbol of racism, about the same as in 2000 when 59% said they viewed it as a symbol of pride. So, if we are banning racist things...... Should George Washington come off the 1 dollar bill? He owned slaves. Should Alexander Hamilton come off the 10 dollar bill, He bought and sold slaves for relatives..... Should Andrew Jackson come off the 20 dollar bill.....yup, he owned slaves..... The list could go on and on and we could remove everything with racist ties and forget history...... but when you forget history, doesn't that increase your chance to repeat it??

I believe even though the flag is on Capital grounds, it is on a war memorial. That is history and I see no problem with that. It was already taken off the Capital building in 2000.
