There may be a time when it is unsafe to buy a toy gun. I have read at least 3 articles about gang members painting the tips of their REAL guns orange so it looks like a toy. This way cops may hesitate and give the thug an advantage to get off the first shot.........   But I'm sure people will blame the cops instead of the thugs

    Ok.....so, you claim it is not about race, but tell Steven he only see's through white lens and then post about black injustice......I'll just leave that right there......   So, what law were you breaking? Hopefully the same laws that TVC and Bullets was breaking when they were stopped by the police.....none, but it happens to white and black people.    If the cops talked bad to you, that was not right.....just like you calling Steven an idiot.....not right, but not illegal. The reason they talked to you was because you were kids walking around in the middle of the night.  If I caught my kid walking our neighborhood at 11pm at night, I would assume he was up to no good. TVC, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it is illegal for a cop to ask anyone walking down the street what they are doing......   For the record, people with my perception are law abiding people raising kids to be responsible adults. People with my perception would question why any kids would be allowed to wonder around at 11pm. It is not illegal for my son to ride his bike down the highway.....but let me catch him doing it and see if I don't flip out.

Well, when you are surrounded by folks that want to wipe you off the map, I guess you make sure you can prevent that......   Wish Obama would realize that.....   ^^see what I did there......made it Obama's fault^^   :D

WARNING - Idiot is name calling and that is clealy a rule here.  Please figure out a different way to disagree with somone BigCam.....   Now, if my 11-13 year old kid was walking around a neighborhood at 11pm at night, I would HOPE a cop finds out what they are up to. My son better not be out with friends at 11pm walking around. There is not much good stuff they could be doing that late at night. So, I would have no problem if he was stopped and questioned. As a matter of fact I would appreciate a phone call.

Who knows, but if the ordinance allows one but not the other, then someone should have the ordinance changed. As for now, it appears the ordinance is written a certain way and should be followed......I think.....if what I am reading is all factual.

The church may not of been profiting, but the instructors were.    I think it is minor and more political then anything else.....   Why can't they just move it to the church?   Maybe the Church wants their 5 minutes of fame?   Sorry, but not a huge issue for me.

And I get what your saying, I really do, but it just is not reality. It is everyones natural defense to judge people on appearance. I wish it was not that way, but it simply is the world we live in. Hopefully one day it will change

Looking back, Clinton was a good President......although I think he disrespected The White House....   I am a huge Bush fan for 6 of the 8 years he was President. I think the political pressure got to him the last 2 years and he lost his drive and went along with some things he should not have.   Katrina was not his issue   I think he handled 911 as well as anyone could have.  I can't even imagine how Obama would handle that.

  Depends.......   Would you call this guy a redneck?     Would you call this guy a skinhead?     Image is everything.......   If you dress like a certain way, you should expect people to treat you a certain way. If I wear a cowboy hat and boots, people assume I like country music.....fact of life.....   Sooooo, if you dress like a thug/gangster, be prepared for people to assume.....

  I think history gives you a possible pattern on both sides.

Why is it that the victims background never seems to matter but the cops background does?   I could post examples, but I think we all know what I mean......

BigGirl, I was also in the band and band president my Senior year(also 4th chair in the All-State Band). I started working at 14 washing ambulances for Holmes EMS in Port Arthur. At 16, I was a dispatcher for them, at 18, I completed and received my EMT. I'm pretty sure I was the only High School Senior to have an EMT Certification. I did all of that while going to HIgh School and being very active in the band. At 19, I was on my own.
