Lumberton Transgender Teacher Out Of A Job Again
thetragichippy replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in The Locker Room
According to the article, her job is being cut due to budget cuts. That is not an uncommon thing..... As a sub, she was under no contract, and could go weeks at a time without work. After the incident, they put her in maintenance and apparently it was steady work......until the budget cut.....now, she is back where she was. Legally I see no issue...... Do I think they let her go because of what/who she is......probably, but I have no proof. -

I'm going to struggle on this one..... I don't blame the lady but if the law they are reporting is correct........." California law states that a homeowner is permitted to use deadly force when someone enters their home if they have a reasonable fear of death or bodily injury". I think a good lawyer could convinceve a jury that shooting the boys on the way out, they were not in fear of death or bodily injury"........ -
I did with the math question

Seattle Raises Minimum Wage $15 Per Hour...
thetragichippy replied to smitty's topic in Political Forum
It sounds really good (like all assistance programs) until you REALLY look at it...... Raising the minimum wage adds no money into the local economy; it only redistributes money among people who are already part of the economy. Low wage workers will have more money to spend; business owners and customers of those businesses will have less to spend by an amount equal to the increase in wages. The lost money is federal government benefits that low wage workers lose thanks to the increase in the minimum wage. In fact, many of these workers will lose food stamps, some or all of their earned income tax credit, and other means-tested federal benefits. This money is currently spent in the local economy, but after the minimum wage is increased the money will revert to Washington, D.C., to be spent on something else. low wage workers can lose as much as half of any new income to increased taxes and lost benefits. Given the percentage of low wage workers that live in low income households (around 30 percent) and that eligibility for the earned income tax credit extends to about $50,000 for a family of four, the loss to the Seattle area economy is likely on the order of $75-100 million. That was huge.....made national news Dude is an idiot -
Steven, when people are not smart enough to respect others opinions, name calling is really the only defense they have. We do not agree on everything, but I never resort to name calling.....as you have just as much right to an opinion as I do.

interesting.....Your Dad met the man, played ball with him and thought he was a good guy. You read his post, see he does not agree with you, never looked him in the eye and call him an a-hole(which breaks forum rules but apparently moderators do not care) So.....it looks like you are saying you are a great judge of character but apparently your Father is a poor judge of character......

Well, this really opens up a lot of things...... She admits she was his girlfriend. He was also her Boss. A Boss can illegally sexually harass their employee......but can a boyfriend sexually harass their girlfriend? (before anyone goes there, I'm not talking about sexual assault) Example, I can tell my girlfriend I like her butt in those jeans.....but I can't tell my employee.....If she is my girlfriend, can I tell her she has a nice butt after work but not while she is on the clock? Is it against the law for him to tell her all that racist stuff as a girlfriend? While I have no doubt he probably said and did all those things.....I still think she is in it just for money.

Big Girl- Proof that "credentials" arent all that is needed

10. Texas > Debt per capita: $1,513 (5th lowest) > Budget deficit: 20.4% (7th largest) > Unemployment: 6.8% (tied-17th lowest) > Median household income: $50,740 (24th highest) > Pct. below poverty line: 17.9% (tied-11th highest) Texas’ GDP rose by 4.8% last year, the second-largest increase in the country, behind only North Dakota. Part of this growth came from the state’s robust energy sector. While Texas is the nation’s largest energy producer in the country by a wide margin, it also has a more balanced economy than other major oil and gas-producing states. The state exported more than $10,000 per capita in goods last year, the third most in the nation. Even with its relatively large economy — the state is in the top 15 for GDP per capita — Texas collected less revenue per resident than any other state. Texas also spent less per capita than most states, particularly on public welfare. The state has a perfect credit rating from both Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s, and had just $1,513 per capita in debt in fiscal 2011. Two negatives stand out for the state: Texas had the lowest rate of adults with a high school diploma, as well as the highest percentage of residents without health insurance coverage. I wonder if the two negatives have anything to do with border control?
