  I disagree with most of this......and I'm sure he would to.   He got to where he is with hard work and good grades.....and the fact he is a smart smart man......   Question.....do you really think affirmative action means much to a true racist?

All that goes with opinion.   I respect Carson because of his success and his views. He was poor, lived it and worked hard to get a better life. I mean, a college degree would have been amazing....a Doctor even better.....but a BRAIN Surgeon? I think he knocked it out of the park. I've listened to his speeches, he is telling it like it is, no sugar coating. He is a hero now because he decided to tell his story at the right time...the same reason Joe the Plumber is now a public speaker and not a plumber.....

Then you are not listening.   No one has said we END welfare.....we trim, prevent abuse, and make it a temporary fix not a retirement plan........   It can be done, but people will have to stop thinking we will end it....and more importantly, if you don't agree with a successful person, fine.....but don't call your own race racial slurs because you disagree.....   White people use to call white girls very ugly names when seen with a black man.....that was never the right thing to say, and Uncle Tom is right along those lines......

From a Facebook post......   Looks like this may be more than a few people.......   Cory Crenshaw and the DA's office, has sat a Special Grand Jury. This GJ is dedicated to nothing but cases brought to them by the BISD Task Force. They will meet every week and are expected to be on this jury for a year.   Congrats on your degree's. I have a buddy that is a NP and that is really the future. Hopefully Texas will pass the law that you do not need a Doctor to sign off to run your own business.   Now, to my point....   Degree's give you knowledge, show commitment but do not make you more intelligent or automatically better at your job. I have no degree and have been managing large businesses since I was 24, and I am currently 48. I have trained college grads only to see them fail because a Business Degree only gives you the tools.....you have to know what to do with them to make them work.   While I don't agree with everything Perry has done or stands for, He has ran Texas pretty good.   Oh Yea......What do all these people have in common? Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, Dave Thomas(founder of Wendy's), Davis Green(Founder of Hobby Lobby), Henry Ford, Michael Dell, Simon Cowell......   No College Degree........and there are MANY more.....

      I guess that is temporary compared to a lifetime.   The welfare system is flawed and has a lot of waste. The cuts need to happen and will at some point.   Cuts need to be made in a lot more than just welfare.   When people hear cuts they thing someone is going to someone's house and taking back their food stamps and children are going to bed hungry, A cut can be as simple as staffing reductions or combining jobs. At my job, I lost my assistant manager and gained a full time employee. I now delegate their task to all my employee's. It works great and I saved some money.
