I’m sitting here watching Wisconsin get beat down by Ohio States defense and just started thinking , are pocket passers dead in college football? with the amount of speed defenses are putting on the field if your QB just sits in the pocket he’s almost like a sitting duck. Idk maybe I’m just not seeing them but if I’m a college coach I’m probably not recruiting any pocket passers to Be my QB im Strickly talking about College , in the NFL the best ones are pocket passers but in college I don’t see it

Wait Northshore wasn’t in Deer Park and La Portes district ,..NS I’m in 21-6A La Porte, Pasadena and Deer Park is in 22-6A Yea they did go 3-7 but there best season was in that district so I wouldn’t say they weren’t successful

Memorial had their best season in that district, and to be honest WestBrook probably wins that district this year... they both need to go 21-6A with Baytown and Channelview in that district and they should move Galena Park out to 12-6A with the woodlands and move Lufkin into Longview’s district with all the other teams in that area smh.

I don’t think it will happen, but if I’m RJ, I’m going to WestBrook , the Receivers they have there, He May break the single season Passing Record ,.as well as just offense of weapons , and not to mention playing against 6A competition .l.

The real key in the whole process will be the coach, ...Dont matter how many athletes you have, if you don't have a coach worth a flip , it'll never be up to its potential .if we're being honest and kids go to where there post to This school should have some of the better athletes in the State, but with no good coaching and structure/program it won't matter

I wouldn't necessarily put off the football team being good, I feel with the merger the school may get thoes guys at Westbrook from the Pear Orchard as well as the kids walking the halls of Ozen due to the football team.not being good, and trust me it's a few of them just walking around

With the enrollment of more then 3,000 kids maybe not and even If they do staff is needed throughout BISD, thats why i mentioned earlier of being at other schools, but I see your point Soulja trust me, I felt the same way back in the day. It's alot of positives that can come from this in due time. Central is out dated and should have been delt with a long time ago , they just keep putting bandaids on gun shots with that school, you know lol. Now if they had renovated or built a new one WE probably wouldn't even be having this conversation

As do I, the only ones I feel won't be retained are coaches , other then that I'm subbing now on days I don't have anything to do, and you should hear which im sure you have, how bad BISD needs staff/teachers. Idk if you knew but they've even talked about the idea of teachers not having to have a certification now and just being hired . Maybe demotion but I don't see people just being thrown to the curve , when they're already in short supply

Soulja i know how you feel about not wanting to close the schools down , same way i felt when they closed French down , but it didn't turn out to be that bad, plus with the shape the district is in no one would lose jobs, hell they need staff everywhere .theyll just be relocated to a different campus , plus the kids deserve a newer campus. Centrals been there since I was in school and my nephew went there and told me about the facilities

Yea I actually like the Panthers or Jaguars but as seeing you would have to compromise and pick another big Cat (Lions,Wildcats,Tigers ect) which arr over used why not be unique and go a diff route you know

Think the area is known more for Oil and Hurricanes among other things rather than Steel

Exactly plus the area is known for storms, and instead of Blue and Grey let’s go Black and Orange Cus I’m biased (OKST C/0 87) and for the name idk how about Durley Highschool or Tyrell Highschool , that would be a good question on the name honestly I would love another Beaumont French but again I’m Biased lol (C/0 82)

I agree, that 2011 P.A.M Squad had so much speed on the field in 11 it was the first time I ever thought Central looked slow , they were also Physical . I would say say the best offenses ive seen Central would probably be the Baytown Lee teams in the 90s, they were running and gunning before anybody, as well as the 90s early 2000s before they went down Westbrook teams as well as some of the late ones and that 2000 Ozen team with Rayburn at QB (I believe) ...

This was my first time seeing Central play since 2010 when they lost to Humble in the playoffs (due to work and relocation) i could only go by what I was hearing and from listening I really thought Central was headed down the path of Ozen, with all the good ones leaving and going to other schools, but what I seen tonight let me know Central still has the kids and speed there and now just has to be coached up by the coaches (which I believe Nelson will do) They May be losing enrollment numbers but I believe a good football team and program will once again have parents sending there kids to Central instead of cross town to WestBrook ..Goodluck Jags the rest of the way, look forward to keeping up with you now that I’m back around.. Also my first time seeing Johnson, and I can say he Deserves all they hype. Man amongst boys out there..Good luck P.N.G is always good when you guys are strong for the rest of the District , hopefully Central can catch up and it can be like the good ol’ 20-4A days when P.N.G, Nederland, Central and/or Ozen were all good and battled for supremacy ...I guess Memorial will take Ozens spot lol
