Great game Barbers Hill. I don't understand why you try a 53 yd fg instead of punting down to inside the 10. Rookie coaching mistake. The better team won tonight, no doubt about it.
If he would have made it you would have said "great call". It was a coin-flip call. It was win now or punt and hope for overtime. I cant fault them either way.

BARBERS HILL VS DAYTON: THE OLD RIVER SHOOTOUT
Nobody is talking down the BH LB's, in fact you brought it up. There is one thing that you might have forgotten, you can't hit what you can't catch.
All I keep seeing for the last three weeks is how we don't have any speed. Y'all keep thinking that. We have the smartest and fastest linebackers in 19 and 20 4A. Keep thinking our offensive line and running backs are slow too. That is the same thing our last three opponents have said. Look what happened to them. Just because you think our offense is boring compared to the spread don't be fooled. I'm picking BH 24 Day-10
For some reason this reminds me of Galena Park after they won their pre-season games last year. Remember when they were high on their horse after beating easy opponents? I will say it now, BH dont have the speed, talent or coaching to even hang within 2 scores of Dayton. Put the JV in after the half because this game is OVER! -

He's a legit sub 4.5 40 guy.

he's a junior this year, heck I don't know, I think he cut 5 10th's off is 40 time, don't care about last year. Maybe cuz he played same positions as Salenga and Sonnier? I'm talking about this year, just watch.
So your saying he went from 5.0 speed to 4.5? ::)
He went from low 4.6 to low to mid 4.4.
So you're telling me this kid has better speed than Anquan Boldin, A.J. Green, Larry Fitzgerald, Donald Driver, Brad Smith, Brandon Marshall, Dwayne Bowe and many other NFL wide receivers? Give me a break. Do people realize how fast 4.4 speed is? Give me a break with all these stopwatch times of 4.4.
Agreed, tired of all these people saying there kids ran a 4.4 but no one has ever heard of them, It is possible of course, but if you run a 4.4 while in high school then we would know your name because your stats would be recognizable, only person I hear at least in 22-3A that they say runs a 4.4 is Sherman Gilbert RB Coldspring who rushed for 2000 yards and 20 touchdowns missing 4 games and playing for a state championship and I still can't say he runs a legit 4.4 because I've seen him beat on the track against guys running high 4.5's so you never know.
Like I said before, Alex Cezar from LCM ran a LEGIT LAZER TIME 4.4 at the State track and field meet his Sophomore year.
I didnt know that they ran the 40 at track and field meets but maybe they put a laser timer at 40yds. That would still be on a track with spikes and running out of blocks. If anyone runs a low 4.4 they should be playing for the Raiders in a few years. Heck, I think I read somewhere that Usain Bolt ran a 3.7 on a track.

Herrera is a system quarterback and knows this system WELL! This is his team and is a great manager of the offense. He might not have the best arm strength or size but he has what he needs between his ears. Next year will be great for the Bronco's and I dont see where anyone in 19-4A can make a case about beating the Bronc's next year.

Question about Barbers Hill...

It was intentional. I am old school, but I kinda liked 'em.
It was the 54-57 uniforms
Hmmmm.. 54? That number rings a bell -
Did anyone notice on the kickoff after the fieldgoal that the LM player let it fly over his head and into the endzone. The ball stopped in the endzone and never went out of bounds and was never downed by a LM player. That ball still should have been live and Dayton could have picked it up for a TD. The ref called a touchback but I thought the ball was still live. Is that not the rule anymore?

I say PNG and Dayton should play in game #2 next year..

Let Me Try To Get A Jump On All Of You For 2011
Backflipper replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Should be another district title for the Bronco's next year. QB and both RB's will be back as well as the best kicker in SETX and like Bronx said, "Dayton district champs 2010 7th grade all the way thru varsity".. Believe that! -
Should have been a closer game but Dayton just didnt play well today. Everybody has an off day and it sux that it happend in the playoffs but there were a few bright spots and plenty of dull ones. I thought Herrera played pretty well considering that the whole D line was in the backfield every play. He did miss a few throws but it happens. One thing that I have noticed earlier in the year and it bugs the heck out of me is the play of Gamal Fowler. If the ball is thrown to him he dont give 100% to get to it if its not a perfect throw. A reciever should at least put his arms out and dive for close balls. He had one land 3 feet infront of him without even putting his hands out. That has happend all year long. Next year is going to be great for the Bronco's. If Herrera improves from his jr to sr year, the way that he improved from soph to jr then we will be a top 5 team in the state. LM has better athletes, size and depth. Good luck in next week.

Coldspring vs. Athens/Let's hear it!
Backflipper replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I am from Dayton but I now live in Athens. I am pulling for both teams but I dont see Athens getting past Coldspring. Playing in Huntsville is almost like a Coldspring home game but Im sure the Athens folks will make the trip pretty easy down 45. Coldspring 42 Athens 28 -

Need to ensure the kids and families are safe. Post on these forums at home please!!
You are worried about the guy posting?? What about the guy sleeping? Dude please, everyone knows that plant operators spend all shift on the internet or playing cards. My brother in law is a fantasy football genious and a craigs list addict thanks to his overpaid operator job. On the other hand I cant say much because I am an air traffic controller and we play poker all night long..
