I was hoping to see something about Colmesneil, Chester, and Burkeville.

I was at the Oilers/Jets game when Buddy Ryan jawed Kevin Gilbride.

Jessie Wolf was pretty good, too.

Unfortunately, classes begin Monday as well for us. We won't hit the field until Monday afternoon. I can't wait, though. Monday will feel like a week from 7:30 to 2:25.

I'd really like to see Deep East Texas get a Zero Week extravaganza like they do in San Antonio and Tyler. They even have a Week Zero classic at Brookhill in Bullard for small schools. This would generate a LOT of money for the area and get the season started off on a great note.

Welcome to all fellow SDC members who have joined. SETX and SDC are two great boards. I'm glad that they have joined forces. High School sports in this region of the state will be very well covered.

Both sites are awesome. Good job on hooking up with Smoaky to cover the sports on this side of the great state of Texas.

I have bought one every year since 1982.

Darn. I thought I found someone who would get fired up about the subject. Just trying to stir the pot a little to keep this one close to the top.

I hate to upset whsalum, but Groveton, Lovelady, Burkeville, AND West Sabine can beat anyone in 24-A hands down. 23-A will be the toughest Class A district this coming season. Each and every district game will be a bloodbath. I also look for Colmesneil to be much improved over the past few seasons as the kids have taken a liking to football.

It was from theoldcoach.com. They don't police their boards as well as they should over there, so rumors start up everyday.

Probably just a rumor. I haven't seen the job posted on THSCA's job site yet. The board that it was on is known for unfounded rumors and hearsay. I saw it as well.

The playoff reps from this district will definitely be battle tested. There are some GREAT district matchups over here.

We have our work cut out for us, but our kids are excited about football for the first time in several years. They were even talking about football during the baseball season. That is a first in a WHILE. I'm really excited. They are planning to be in the weightroom 4 days a week this summer and we have most of them planning to participate in the UIL summer program. We have several going to football camps this summer as well. I'm really excited about the upcoming season.

Groveton is LOADED from what they looked like at the state track meet. I look for them to be in the top 5 in the state before the season is over. They have the speed and size to compete for the state title this coming season.

We play Evadale, High Island, and Sabine Pass in our non-district schecule. It's a shame that the UIL sent us, Chester, and Burkeville out of this district. We will miss you all.

I think the Eagles will take the game tomorrow. I am looking forward to the matchup with undefeated Hughes Springs.

6 Offensive and 7 Defensive starters are among the 14 returning lettermen. We should be better this season than we have in the past three or four. The kids are really excited about football over here for a change and hopefully it will carry on throughout the summer.

I saw Groveton at the Area, Regional, and State track meets and they have some monster athletes. They are going to be a force in the region this coming football season.
