RETIREDFAN1 reacted to Chester86 in De Soto Coach to Be Fired!?
Even if they decide to keep him, why would you want to be somewhere you're not wanted and supported by those you work for?

The players may be happy, but if you're Peterman, you will always have the thought that these board members want you out in the back of your head. Doesn't seem like they'll be on his side if any important things come up.

Congrats to the Oilers. Those 4 runs is the second best scored on Big Sandy this year. The other was a 6-0 loss to WOS.
Them Dadgum Wildcats are good.

RETIREDFAN1 reacted to Hagar in Need To Stop All Federal Funds To Berkeley!
PhatMack posted this in an earlier thread on Berkeley, but I've added it here for those who may have missed it. This is the Police Chief at UC Berkeley, that allowed (didn't stop) damages to private property, looting, and attacks on innocent people. One couple in fear for their lives was refused entry into a building by her police. She's obviously incompetent, but because of her gender, and sexual orientation, will never be held accountable.

Appears President Trump got UC at Berkeley's attention. They are rescheduling Ann Coulter.
This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Btw, they mentioned the rescheduling on CBS but failed to mention Trump had threatened to stop Govt funds. Lmbo, they couldn't stand to report that the Libs had to relent because Trump threatened them. In point of fact, the university should be ashamed to curtail free speech on the campus.

Senior night in Rebel-land. Daniel Bean is the lone senior and just happens to be my middle son. Time flies, and it seems like yesterday we were headed to our first OYBS practice. From the first all-star trip with Jack Dallas, KJ Miller, Blade Broussard, Tre Bernard and the rest of the team that ended up 8th in the state - at 5 years old it has been a great journey. This has been a blessing as he has been privileged to play with so many great players:
Jack Dallas - Lamar,
KJ Miller - ETBU
Mac Patterson - West Point
Andrew Wood - Alvin JC
Jordan Johnson - UA-Monticello,
Trevis Sundgren - U of H,
Kelby Weyler - Rice,
Chet Jones - Lamar,
Chase Partain - Lamar,
Logan LeJeune - Lamar,
Bryan Bergeron - Schreiner,
Caleb Edmonds - Panola,
Dalton Bennett - Blinn,
Nathan Vidrine - Alvin,
Austin Hendrix - TAMU,
Bryce Holmes - Alvin.
I know I've probably missed someone, and for that I apologize. We have gotten to watch you play at TAMU, U of H, Rice, TCU, Texas Tech, Lamar, McNeese, Sam Houston, SFA, NWSU, Alvin, Blinn and so many more beautiful parks. My personal faves were TAMU, Rice, Tech and U of H.
We love you son and hope you have a great night, and a deep playoff run. It has been a blessing to watch you play the game and develop into a leader and a great young man.

RETIREDFAN1 reacted to Hagar in HS Track Meet, Bring a Lunch
Okay you young whipper snapper, here's a few results for the boys. A junior from El Paso Coronado won the Javelin. Sr from Westinghouse HS in Pa won the hammer throw. Deweyville won the weightboys relay. And Evadale ran 7 & 9 (I think) in the 800m. Seems like Dallas South Oak Cliff won the 4x65 relay. Callen won the 4x1600 intermediate hurdles. And big upset, Dallas Highland Park, was heavily favored in the Slalom, but was crushed by Spurger. That's all I remember.
Now let my pride show. The Evadale Rebel team won one major event. All teams raced to the concession stand. Evadale won easily lol.

Should be a great game tonight between those clubs. West Hardin is improving, and looked a lot better the second time we played them.

RETIREDFAN1 reacted to ctown81 in Should Home School Kids be Able to Participate in School Sports
But SPORTS is not a requirement for graduation. So a child should be required to get a sub par education if they want to play sports? How is a home school kid who lives in the district playing sports hurting anything? Most parents are just putting education FIRST.

No, because Algebra is CURRICULAR and athletics are EXTRA CURRICULAR.........algebra is a requirement for graduation, athletics is not.....apples and oranges........

RETIREDFAN1 reacted to ctown81 in Should Home School Kids be Able to Participate in School Sports
This is the second time I've heard this argument on this thread. It's VERY possible for a school to not be good enough academically but good enough for extracurricular activity. Sports and education are two different things and I understand parents wanting the best educationally for their child. Why have kids miss out on a valuable part of life just because they want a better education. We have kids that play for us who attend a different school. If they're school doesn't offer the sport, they can play with us.
P.S. when I say play for us, I mean the school I work at, not Carthage.

Yes they have. The people spoke and elected Donald Trump as president, along with over 1000 Republicans to replace Democrat controlled seats since Obama took office. They spoke loud and clear.
And to get back on the topic you are desperately trying to avoid, do you think Susan Rice "colluded" (buzz word alert) with Obama in an attempt to destroy the Trump campaign?
