Lambert's attorney says her tears mean she is ready to take responsibilty for her own actions. I think the state of Texas had something to do with that. Funny how a prison term can make a person have conscience. Had she possessed a conscience before, she wouldn't be where she is now. I don't think she is sorry for what she did, I think she is sorry she got caught.

While I agree with your basic premise, I think it's a bit short sighted to say that those vocations listed represent uneducated people. Lots of those vocations represent many intelligent people that keep the world going around with their craft. I have spent some time around educators and some of them are absolute mouth breathers, administration included.

I'm surprised by that myself. In fact, I'm surprised this is not a hot topic. I'm guessing that maybe many people are torn between the thought of giving up their freedom in return for safety. I personally am not prepared to let the government deprive me and all fellow Americans of our privacy because they can't retrieve data from one phone. And I sure don't want the government thinking they can order me or anyone else to perform work for them.

Do you honestly expect a coach to show 100% loyalty to a school district that only gives them a contracted job for 1 or 2 years at a time?  This right here is exactly why coaches explore options...because they know that any single year a board member can be the reason they have to search for a new job.  Might as well build up interview skills...my dad told me a long time ago.  "Son, get as much from them as you can while you can.  Because none of them care about you at all."  He wasn't necessarily talking about a school but I think that holds true with any job you have.  If they want a coach to retire at their school they should give contracts that don't run out.

This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Coach Jan West coached her last home game in Zavalla tuesday night. I am 41 years old and moved to Zavalla in 1985 from PN-G  wasnt to long after moving there I visited Eagles gym there and watched my first game coached by Jan West.  I remember thinking she was very tall. Back in those days her teams were very good. Coach West coached in Zavalla soemwere aorund 33 years. She won her 500th game back in 2013. I do not know what her final record is but I know she was very faithful to the ZISD as she turned down many many offers from larger schools to leave Zavalla. I remember getting to school early to see her Lady Eagles teams off to the state tourny when I was in high school there. Those teams were really good. She was a hard nosed coach who loved her girls. She is a coaching legend there up in the country and she will be missed on the sidelines.......   Good luck Coach West
