1. Very young team, yes, but higher quality than the average SLC. The SLC is not ranked 27th and 28th for the last few years for nothing. SLC MBB is awful. Among the nations worst. I don't expect more than 3 SLC schools  to rpi better than 200. Lamar and ORU are 2.

Lamar lost 4 starters, but those guys are equal to the talent coming in. Lamar should be slightly better even with younger and less experienced players.
I disagree. I think at the beginning of the season they will not be as good as last year's team, which these rankings are based on, therefore why they are "preseason" rankings. I do believe though that Lamar could be better than last year's team by the end of the season.
Last years team was not good. The coaching was the differences. Last years team didn't make the SLC tourney the year before. Last years team was athletic, but not smart. The team that ended Lamar season was much younger, less athletic, however much smarter. Knight is bringing in smart players. We will see a different style of basket that we are use to in this area and in the SLC.

 7. Any improvement?  I only saw the first 1st and a little of the 2nd. Offense is horrible. Very predictable.
 8. UAB, one of the worst FBS, is destroying SELA. We suck big time. MBB can't come soon enough.
So Georgia Southern is going FBS because someone posted some cheap stadium renderings on the internet?  That must mean Lamar's going FBS too because look below: [img][Hidden Content]]
A few days ago Ga Sou. voted to go fbs.  Some people believe App st and GSU will get a Sunbelt invite in November.

 11. SHSU is only a few miles closer to DT Houston than Lamar. Huntsville micro is part of Houston CSA and DMA. I am surprised Beaumont/Port Arthur MSA has not joined into Houston CSA. It would help our image. It will in the future, I'm not sure when. No one knows about the great changes at Lamar since the 90's. Therefore SHSU will always get the favorable opinion when compared to Lamar. Lamar does nothing to help it's image outside the area. From an athletic point, all Lamar has to do is release an artist drawing of a 30k, or 35k, or 41k stadium would look like and everyone would around the country would take notice. But Nooooooooooo., UNLV is not bashful [Hidden Content] Neither is Colorado st  [Hidden Content]
 12. Sunbelt fans...correction. I was checking out the many boards to get a hint on the Sunbelt Oct. meetings. Everyone is talking about expansion. App st and Ga Southern is the preferred choices. Arguments for and against Jax st, NMSU, and SHSU. Unanimous consensus, NO LAMAR.  Lamar MMB suck, football suck, Lamar is gay, Lamar will bring down the SBC are just a few. Not 1 person thought Lamar was a decent add.
 13.
Nope. LU can do better.
Who? throw some names out there. Big name with skills should be the choice,
 14. Georgia Tech just fired their coach.
 15. I wonder if there are any father-son fbs coaches.... ;)
Damn I didn't know people did that. UT, A&M, Tech, UH and TCU don't have this problem.  :( Hell, I doubt SFA and Slam have this problem either.
Makes sense to me. It is part of the SETX mentality. We have nothing here because everyone living here is looking out. We can't have airline service, let Houston do it for us. We can't have a river walk, go to kemah. We can't have live concerts, go to Chuck. No surprise at the shirts. Before anyone point out my user name, I use a different name on different boards. This is the only time I ever used a school name. It just popped in my head when registering.
 17. Extremely frustrating. I am not see anything to get excited about in the future with Lamar football. No improvement in 3 years.  >:( >:( >:(
I make some games in football and MBB.
u only make some football games? i make all the football games...win or lose..no matter who were playing...some "fan" u are...
Ah, I get it now.  You fback up your claims of the Rebels' ability to pack its stadium based on the opponent's travel-heavy fan base.  So I guess LU should expand their stadium so the fan-loyal Wisconsins of the world will come, much like the series with UNLV.  Yeah.
The stadium was packed. I didn't count fans at the gate. And I would care who packed PU Stadium just as long as it was packed. Gawd, you guys would go to war to keep Lamar lowly. why there was no community outrage when Lamar dropped back down to the SLC.
why would there be outrage? the university will do what it feels is best for itself...not what is said on a message board...
Yeah, why in SETX?  Everywhere else knows why. I like to see silent fans if Baylor decides to move to the Sunbelt or SHSU tries to move back to DII., They would riot while SETX accept it and try to fool yourself with excuses,.

 22. Lamar has problems. Starting with coaches.

 24.
lil sensitive when presented with facts from an ignorant southeast texan as i have said (ever since you started --first with the WAC-kiness)..if Lu goes FBS, I'm good with it..where I differ...i think LU, if they were to go FBS..should stay east --which would be sunbelt...states where SETEX can identify with and know..not out in the desert where, with a very few exceptions..people could give a squat about college football...I would like us in a conference with UL-L, you--Idaho if we stay FCS..I'm fine with that also--SLC is a good FCS conference--for what its worth...i think winning the FCS championship is more impressive than winning many of these watered down bowl games.
Idaho is not in the MWC. Ofcourse I would never call you ignorant. If you like the SLC and SBC, then that is your choice., I like the MWC better than both those conferences.I just have better taste.
