1.
Those are decent reasons to make the move but I'm still on the fence...
Many schools have or planning to move up. How many schools at the FBS is moving back down?
 2.

Arrrrrgh, biting my wrist. It is that type of mentality for Lamar dropping football and dropping down to the Southland. Whoa is Lamar, we can never bring in anyone except Rice.... >:(
So if Lamar goes FBS we can expect the likes of USC, Texas, Notre Dame, Ohio State, LSU, Florida, Virginia Tech, BYU, Tennessee, Oregon, Auburn, Miami and Nebraska come into Beaumont?
If Lamar was FBS, yes, but maybe 1 or 2 of those schools in 10 years and like King said, a 2 for 1 deal. Geezer, that type of scheduling won't last. Texas plays Ohio st, the loser will be nearly out of the NC hunt early with the one loss. A second loss and its over. They will be back to playing cupcakes.
 3.
A few years ago.  I know that some of these schools have traveled to smaller FBS sites usually as a part of a multiyear deal where the small school comes to the big school, but I believe even that will become a rare event.  I think you are more likely to see four major conferences with up to 16 members and everyone else pushed out.  These schools will be locked into eight to nine conference games and will be pushed by the ranking systems to play teams from the other major conferences because of ranking purposes.
Good point but I disagree with the results. A loss to a high rating school is not better than whipping a low level FBS. TCU and Boise st played scrubs for a top 3 and 4 ranking at one point. Had TCU played a SEC schedule, then TCU would not be undefeated. So a big conference school will not risk a non conference loss to play another big conference school. A loss could end any hope for a NC early in the season.
 4. I took those schools from Sunbelt teams. Arkansas and Alabama went to UL-Monroe. Ofcourse Lamar could never be a Monroe. Oklahoma st to ULL, Louisville to Ark st, and Kansas st to North Texas. But Lamar could never be as magical as ULL or Ark st. Arrrrrgh, biting my wrist. It is that type of mentality for Lamar dropping football and dropping down to the Southland. Whoa is Lamar, we can never bring in anyone except Rice.... >:(
 5. Playing FBS, Lamar should be able to get home games with such teams as Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma st, Baylor, Tulsa, Memphis, Louisville, Kansas st...etc
 6. The WAC is no longer a western conference. The travel excuse is no longer valid.
 7.
man..i wonder what they see on the resumes of these guys.....since pat foster..nothing Tidwell take the men?
Actually Abatemarco was and is a very good coach. His ignorant big mouth got him fired. He could turn LU mens team around fast.
 8. When does the women play?   The men's team is garbage. Please resign Roc, for the fans and school.. Tic Price will do a better job.
 9. ULL is a very bad team with a 1st year coach, yet they still beat Roc's team. Is not Tim Floyd available?
 10. WAC talking to SFA and Northwestern...rumor, not confirmed.
 11.
UNLV said: My current prediction of CUSA in 5-7 years.       SMU Houston Tulsa Memphis K-st Iowa st Texas tech Baylor Southern miss UAB Tulane UTEP UNLV, under this plan where do you put UT and TAMU?  The SEC?
Pressure is very strong for AM to join the SEC. And the SEC wants AM. UT could go independent. It would be awesome if UT dumped its remaining sports here New Mexico st ULL UTSA TSU Ark st Lamar Missouri st La tech Denver-non football UALR-non football Texas-Non football Oklahoma-non football. ;D
 12. It is nearly impossible to start a new FBS. Lamar should jump in and take the WAC and its FBS rating and make it a regional FBS conference. New Mexico st ULL UTSA TSU Ark st Lamar Missouri st La tech Denver-non football UALR-non football Maybe UNT Maybe Wichita st ...if they decide to start football.
 13. Jenna plays better at the 2. We need a point guard.,
 14. We missed our last 4 3's... Final...  64-58 New Mexico
 15. Extremely sloppy by Lamar. Down by 4 with 21 seconds
 16.

Therefore I am back on the LU joining the WAC IF; 1. WAC gets the waiver 2. no new western schools join... 3. A new name...4. ULL and Ark st join. UTSA Texas st New Mexico st ULL Lamar Ark st Denver SJSU? Idaho?
Assuming you are talking about changing the name WAC to something else, that would be a disaster.  That WAC name and emblem is the only thing that has kept the conference around so long.  That would be like changing the name COKE COLA® to something else. And no, there is not chance UNT will be enticed to move to the WAC.  The university has formally declined an invite for the 3rd time.
UNT can decline 1,000,000 times, however if the WAC becomes a better choice than the Sunbelt, it would be foolish for UNT not to join. There is nothing else out there for UNT. Sunbelt or WAC. Stop dreaming about CUSA, it won't happen. My current prediction of CUSA in 5-7 years. SMU Houston Tulsa Memphis K-st Iowa st Texas tech Baylor Southern miss UAB Tulane UTEP
 17.

As usual, you guys know nothing. A few months ago the biggest argument against LU, UNT, and any other regional school joining the WAC was travel. Well guess what?  The center is now in Texas. With Utah st nearly out the door, Idaho and SJSU are now the odd balls much as Tech was for years.
Yeah we are all clueless...You are so much more in tune with reality than anyone else!  ::)
Oh I know it. I try and try and try. sigh\
A few moths ago the WAC would have been entising to a UNT, ULL because they had Boise St., Hawaii and Nevada...But the travel WAS the biggest issue. Now without programs that have gotten national attention the past 5 years, what is the draw for UNT and ULL?? Better off expanding the Sunbelt.
Less travel, regional schools and former rivals, why go to Fla Atl or Florida int when ULL can play Lamar or Tech. This could be the old SLC from the glory days.
 18. For example, if LU joined the WAC, travel in the WAC would be about the same as in the Sunbelt. Idaho to the MWC and SJSU to the Big West, then travel for LU would be less than the Sunbelt. This an opportunity for regional schools to build, reshape, rename, our own FBS conference. Like coach said, the NCAA will need to give the WAC a waiver to keep FBS status. I think it will. Therefore I am back on the LU joining the WAC IF; 1. WAC gets the waiver 2. no new western schools join... 3. A new name... 4. ULL and Ark st join. UTSA Texas st New Mexico st ULL Lamar Ark st Denver SJSU? Idaho?
 19. With Utah st nearly out the WAC door, that leaves San Jose st Idaho New Mexico st UTSA Texas st La Tech Denver If the Wac could unload Idaho and San Jose, Could the remaining 5 be enough to lure Lamar, UNT, ULL, and Ark st. Before anyone scream UNT would never. UNT is not going CUSA. CUSA will take Big 12 left overs after the Big 12 collapse.
 20. J Brown didn't look good. Texas has freshmen playing better and more minutes than Brown. Brown future in Texas might be on the bench. Should he come home to LU?
 21.

Proud of Roc for actually playing zone. Its causing Texas lots of problems.
Me too!  I didn't think he'd be smart enough to play zone.  Our defense played very good.  I was very pleased with our defensive effort.  However...the offense....wow!  How r we the second highest scoring team in the country?!  I thought we had players that could shoot this year?! Man that was UGLY!!!
We didn't play Billy ball tonight. Roc changed the style.
 22. Hard to judge this game. Take away Lamar's awful shooting and out of control plays, Lamar looked big time. Texas didn't look like a top 25 team or was it Lamar making them look bad. Lamar needs to work on the half court game. I really like the slashing by Lamar. I think this is what kept Lamar in the game. Lamar has lots of depth, finally. Watch out SLC. This Lamar team has potential.
