1. I think if the Big 12 dissolves that would be bad for LU. The Big 12 needs to move quickly to replace Nebraska with TCU. And standing invites to BYU, Utah, Boise st, Houston, New Mexico and UTEP if the PAC takes 6.
 2. Report: Huskers, Mizzou face ultimatum "Nebraska has until 5 p.m. on Friday to tell us what they're going to do," one school official said, according to the The American-Statesman. "The same deal for Missouri. They have to tell us they're not going to the Big Ten." [Hidden Content] I hope AD Tubbs is not asleep and is ready to move...
 3. GALVESTON, Texas - The Southland Conference's Board of Directors has redefined the league's sports sponsorship standards for its member institutions, requiring all institutional varsity sports programs to participate fully within the conference's competitive structure if the league also sponsors the sport. The decision, with an effective date of July 1, 2011, was announced by the Southland's governing presidential body at the conclusion of the conference's annual spring business meeting Friday. If an institution chooses not to meet this requirement, then it shall relinquish its membership and notify the Conference per the withdrawal provisions listed in Article 3.04 of the league's constitution, which requires a two-year notification of withdrawal or $250,000 penalty. 5. The heat should have Texas st tired. Why couldn't UTA put this game into extra innings.
 6.
1 gamer. And no crow for me I've had G's back all year.
NOT FAIR...I thought this was a 2 lost tourney.
 7.
I hope they remain open.
They will remain open, but the athletics will take a big time hit. Think UNO...
 8. Texas st beat UTA 5-4. LU plays winner of Texas st UTA rematch Saturday. LU must win 1 of 2...If second game is necessary.
 9. This was a problem brewing for a very long time. Louisiana is smaller than the Houston area yet you don't see as many DI schools in Houston.
 10. At least 2 of 4 top 4 teams will be gone today.
IMO this makes the most sense, not sure there is enough room between the stadium and feeder road to support a upper deck.
Can't a top engineering school figure something out.
IMO this makes the most sense, not sure there is enough room between the stadium and feeder road to support a upper deck.  Build  a upper deck on the East side and new press box on top with suites and turn the west side press box into suites.  Could bowl the south endzone at the same level as the east/west stands until you get to the windows of the fieldhouse and then that section just high enough where it does not block the view from the offices.  Then they could fill in the gaps between the Montange like they did at Boone Pickens Stadium at Oklahoma State.
That's a great idea as long as they turn the East side into the home side. You can't have the visitor side looking that much better!
If we support LU like we should, there will be no visitors side.
 13.
Here is what a former Lamar assistant SID Drew Lacy (Bearkat 41) thinks of this recruiting class and Lamar fans in general. [Hidden Content]
It's called be jealous because LU is on its way up in football, basketball, Wbasketball, growth, money, research, and class while SHSU is going down. 2,000 at a home football game. SHSU might drop football.
 14. Maybe build new multi-story press box on the east side and turn old boxes into suites.
 15. I would love to see UH and LU in the same conference. The rivalry would generate much revenue for both schools. But it is not gonna happen. UH and New Mexico are canidates for higher conference.
 16. 10.    LAMAR (27 Points)..........10 Recruits..........2.7 Talent Rating Average Per Recruit..........Southland Conference..........(4) Michael James, 6'1, PG, Eastern Utah (JC) UT; (4) Vincenzo Nelson, 6'5, WF, Itawamba (JC) MS; (4) Devon Lamb, 6'2, 2G, Southwestern Christian (JC) TX; (3) Tremell Adams, 6'1, PG, South Suburban (JC) IL; (2) Brandon Davis, 6'6, WF, Southwestern Christian (JC) TX; (2) Tre Lynch, 6'1, PG, Lancaster (H.S.) 17.
Read the article.  It is interesting and the SBC would be an option.  I prefer something along the lines of a new SWC that would include: Lamar, UH, Rice, Tx San Antonio, UTEP, New Mexico, New Mexico State, SMU, UNT, La Tech, Ark State & La Lafayette.
Take out UH and New Mexico, add Tulsa and TSU, then you got it.
 18. It is an interesting opinion. But I don't see it playing out that way.
 19.

Terror and katfans are steaming over this class. hehe. Any bets SHSU come in last place this season?
I'll take the bet. No way they finish in last place. NO WAY. They might not win the league, but I will garuntee they don't have a year like the Cards did this year.
Ok, not last place because this conference stinks in BBall. But I bet SHSU have a very bad year and next few years.
 20. The women must start the season in high gear. No Jekyll and Hyde playing like this past season. If so, LU could get a much higher seed and possible first round win. The men...well...lets wait and see. It looks good so far. We are talking the SLC. A below average team can win this conference.
 21.
Six recruits and the tallest is 6-1???  Somewhat of a smallish group.
We need quality over height. Would like both but we can win in the SLC with this height. That Francesca sounds like she will be a force.
