Just about everybody in our AD went to Austin to watch the ladies play.
Well, that's the excuse for the past few days, but what about ever? I know you guys are new to football, but it is typical for most schools for spring football to... a) Post a schedule of practices, scrimmages and the 'climax' (Red-White Game, whatever) b) Post occasional updates of practice and if not that, at the very least the scrimmages I really thought Lamar would be doing a release every few weeks this past fall of the happenings of fall practice. Never. Never any notice of any of the scrimmages, etc. The complete opposite of any other up-start in the country, even the non-scholarship ones. You can say that it is in the local media, but as I said before - if I'm Joe Recruit and I am checking your school out, I am looking at the web site and not the newspaper. Having been part of the recruiting process for student-athletes, they or the parents compliment the web site and other information available at their fingertips (especially families outside of the region who would not be able to make as many games). Just surprising...
cluck cluck cluck nag nag nag.... go get me a beer...
 2.
Joe Curl did a great job @ UH...leaving because of health. Lots of activity down on Cullen. Hope Rhodes takes a look at Tidwell.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr If LU could raise $100 million, they could raise the money to keep Tidwell here to make LU a to 50 power and see Kalis graduate.
 3.
Wait...practice started???  ??? No spring schedule on the Lamar athletic web site - [Hidden Content] In fact, the only stories are about signings and Todd Whitten. Spring practice must be just as important as last fall's practice...talk about momentum killing.
It's all over the tv news.
 4. I like to add. SHSU men and women in the NCAA, 0-2. Lamar men and women in the NCAA, 8-7.
 5.
LU just starting a football program, why would we want players that where kicked off other teams. Just asking.
Jenna Plumley....
 6.

Terror, both LU and SHSU are 14 seeds. I bet our ladies make a better showing than SHSU men's team.
Well...?
You said you didn't want to trash talk so I left it alone. Now this....
 7. Timid, soft, got pushed around, star struck...except for Kalis and Jenna.(the two experienced players) Very disappointed in Darika. She didn't show up. I can't count the number of bad passes. I was not impressed with West Virginia. I think LU could beat them, unless they were having a bad game too. Great season...Looking forward to seeing Kalis and Jenna next season. The remaining team needs to step it up. Smith and Green is not bringing it like I believe they can. Jenna and Kalis can't do it all by themselves.
 8. This exposure will land better recruits. LU could dominant the SLC for years.
 9. Yeah if we can get players who can kick the ball with the right force and angle, we could score a lot of points. I don't know much about soccer. I just wanted to join the conversation.

 11.
Having attended the game - SHSU's game plan WORKED. Bob Marlin out-coached Scott Drew. Anyone that was at the game could realize as much, seeing how frustrated the Baylor offense was. The only thing that did not work - the Bearkats' shots were not falling.
“We’ve never seen a triangle and two,” Udoh said. Said Sam Houston coach Bob Marlin: “Our defensive game plan was good the entire ballgame. I thought we … did the things we needed to do, but we just didn’t make enough shots to win the game.”
SHSU far from embarrassed the SLC. The media in NOLA was thoroughly impressed based on conversations I had. One member of the media did ask me if Lamar was still in the SLC, or if they had moved to Division II. Heard they were starting a football team, but was not sure if LU was playing in the Gulf South Conference or the Southland. They recalled the Cards from the American South days in NOLA and had not heard much a *peep* from them since... Oh, Billy Tubbs was one of the possible answers to a question on the video board.
That is what happens in the SLC. Everyone forgets your name. You should have brought up UNO...
 12.

SHSU always embarrassing the SLC....
Come on now UNLV, they played a great game today and almost won.
I know shhhh, I still like to ruffle Terrors turkey feathers.
 13. Good thing ole Terror decided not to talk trash with me. Great fight SHSU put up. I think Marlin is gone. Maybe to ULL.
 14. SHSU always embarrassing the SLC....
 15.
I just do not see the point...  ??? We're comparing apples to oranges. Men's basketball to women's basketball. Sam Houston State to UNLV...er Lamar.
Since your women couldn't bring and I our men never had it, we are stuck with apples and oranges. I think you know LU women will make a statement while SHSU will get slapped out the way.
 16. Terror, both LU and SHSU are 14 seeds. I bet our ladies make a better showing than SHSU men's team. Let the trash talking begin.
 17. In 1991 Lamar womens had to make it to the Elite Eight before ESPN put the game on tv.
 18. Bracket moved us up to 14 seed to face West Virgina in Austin.
 19. LU needs a big parking garage north of the Montagne. And a new Montagne scoredboard. The High school Merrel center put the Montagne to shame.
 20. We dancing.... Why can't Tidwell take Roc in a back room with a yard stick and teach him the game.
 21. Now we need to put the lock down on that Jade Davis and we would be off to the NCAA.
 22.
I was thinking about Quinn Snyder earlier today.  This is a guy who has played and coached at Duke.  He did great things at Missouri before he ran into some player trouble.  Now he is coaching the Austin Toros in the Developmental League.  This a guy who needs another chance and would be an interesting possibility. On a side note, it is a shame that the most LU hoops buzz on this site in the last two years revolves around the possible end of the Roc regime.  This speaks volumes about the mindset of the fan base.
We want to win. LU needs a winner. Nothing personally on Roc.
 23.

I thought Roc was described as young and energetic when he arrived on the scene?Thats alread been tried several times at LU. Maybe it's time for a father-figure to run things around here.
Lamar has tried almost every kind of coach there is these last 20 years without much success!   :D
LU didn't try a coach that can win.
