1. If the goal is for LU to move up with Texas st and UTSA to a new FBS conference. Just maybe a Gillispie can be brought in. But lets not poop on Roc just yet, he has not been fired/resigned yet. Coach Tubbs did no better when he was in his second term with LU as coach.
 2. I heard Larry Brown was in town. Ok who believes me?
 3. Next years team will be worse than this years team. There is nothing to get excited about next year. Maybe Roc can be the assistant AD, then AD after Tubbs calls it quits.
 4. According to Terror on katfans. WOMEN 1) Stephen F. Austin 13-3 2) Lamar 13-3 3) A&M-CC 12-4 4) UTSA 10-6 5) UTA 9-7 6) SHSU 8-8 7) NWST 7-9 8) SLU 6-10
 5. All LU has to do is match them score for score to win.
 6.
I think Roc gets one more year with all the freshmen coming in.  But still, this is a young team and young teams generally improve as the season goes along.  Has anyone seen any improvement?  It looks like they got worse.  They'll probably end with a 7-game losing streak.  Tubbs can't be happy with that.
The Freshmen are not showing anything to get excited about. The team will be worse next year. I like Roc, but he is not getting it done.
 7. The love fest by SLC tv on CC already has Lamar losing next week and CC winning it all.
 8. cc 7-15 from 3. LU 2-15....  on our own court.
 9. The 3 big boneheaded moves by LU. 1. Dropping football 2. Losing the Lamar University System 3. Dropping to the SLC
Don't buy into the excuses of idiots. At that time the economy was great, LU could have raised millions. With the right people in place. Look what Dr Simmons is doing now in a bad economy.
Come on now UNLV, you can't deny that LU had financial problems.  The local economy tanked in the mid-80s and the population shrank.  Lamar is part of the Texas State University System now because of all the problems they had back then. I do agree that had the right people had been in place Lamar would be well ahead of where they are now.  But it's too late now and Simmons and Tubbs are doing a great job in turning things around.
I'm not talking about the 80's. I'm talking 90's. The move to the SLC was desperate move by people who did not know how to run the school. If LU had stayed in the Sunbelt, we would be talking FBS. We would be part of the CUSA talk. The stadium would be under construction for 35k. Roc would have better players and a much better record. Tidwell would have a top 25 team.

LU beat Rice and Tulane yet they rank higher. It's all about the Conference.
It's not all about the conference. If we were winning hand over fist and still ranked in the mid to high 100's I would agree. But We have to take some of the blame because our basketball program is just not that good. Swallow your pride and admit it. The Southland Conference is NOT our biggest problem. Probably not even top 5 on the list.
A better conference yield better recruits. A better conference get better exposure. The SLC has one ncaa win in the last 10 years. Hang around losers makes you a loser.
If you haven't been paying attention, we are the losers holding the others in this conference back. Your words not mine. Your thinking is ridiculous. We are about to miss the conference tourney for the second straight year, unless we get a miracle finish. And your argument is that the "losers" that keep beating us are the ones holding us back? Why don't you look at budgets and the overall facilities of out athletics programs (Ty Terrell track is the biggest joke in the SLC and is worse than most high school facilities and for the product that had been placed on the field for the tenure of the staff, there is no way Vincent Beck should be as SAD as it is) and you might just realize we are way further behind than many of the "losers" in the SLC. You're so quick to blame everyone else for why Lamar is struggling, but you seem to refuse to place blame on the shoulders that deserve it the most. The admin at Lamar is a joke and thngs are not going to get better until the right decisions are being made all the way across the board and not just for one or two sports.
And one of those correct decision would be to move out the SLC.
I believe if you recall the downfall started about the same time we decided we were too good for the SLC and we left for the Sun Belt.  Also, it was the same time football was whacked.  We were going to have all these funds to really focus on our awesome basketball team.  It has been one failure after another since then.  Ok, we may have had a fluke season ending run once but other than that...el stinko!  And, yes, we are about to miss the conference tourney.  Franklin screwed it up for everyone.  Who was after him?  Mclaughlin?  I think Simmons and Tubbs finally have us headed on the right track but they've got 15 plus years of disasters to make up for.
This screwups was not because we left the SLC...Hence La Tech, UNT, ULL, Ark st
 13.
Oh no trust me I know they should have stayed in the Sunbelt... It was a dumb decision IMO. But I'm tired of hearing about that. It was in the past. Now we should be giving these lady their credit on a great season. And how they have played great all year against whoever they play even though it is a Southland opponent. If they get into the tourney it wont be about the conference. It will be win or go home no matter what conference we or the opponent is in.
Taking shots at the SLC is in no way hurting the ladies. However if we stop reminding LU of the boneheaded move to the SLC, they will do it again by missing an opportunity to move up or leaving the SLC for the summit league.
 14. My point is still, it's all about the conference. LU doesn't seem to understand this dropping to the SLC in the first. You guys just don't realize how much press LU got, in Vegas, in the lowly Sunbelt.
 15. Something I learned living in Las Vegas. A fool plays the hand he is dealt.
 16. If LU was in the Sunelt, 11th seed easily... It's all about the conference. The Sunbelt is no better than the SLC, but that FBS status gives them a phantom advantage over the SLC in all sports.

 18. 5 Loses in a row. Roc just don't have it. He could make more money recruiting for a big name program. Time to go Roc...sorry. Lamar is a fund raising machine. Lamar needs to fund raise a few millions then use the millions to grab a coach that can bring it.
 19. UCA lost today. Now lets hope cc lose tonight to SFA.
 20. Major choke. 3 goose eggs last 3 innings while giving up 3. And poor coaching...
