1. NCAA is going to 96 teams. So LU and UTSA can start up a new conference without being forced into the 6/5 rule. UTSA UTEP UNT LU Tulsa SMU ULL Tech Ark st is a start.

 4.
yeah, for the 1989 season, I remember in an Enterprise Rush Wood article that that season average was 6,000 per home game. If you look back pre-Div1aa some of the home attendance records were 18,500 1980 vs Baylor 17,600 1979 vs La Tech 17,250 1979 vs West Texas State 17,222 1977 vs SW Louisiana 17,050 1981 vs Southwest Texas and about 5 others above 16,000
Hint Hint Lamar.
 5. Lets talk about replacing Roc before every game.
 6. NCAA national championship coach Rollie Massimino is coaching at a DIII school. Anything is possible.
 7. I don't like doing this because we have a sitting coach. However if Roc did leave, I like to see Abatemarco come back. He has matured much since his first stay.
 8. 16-4....If they win Saturday, i will be shocked and outraged if they dont get that one top 25 vote.
 9.

Not bad at all!!!!!!!!  I hope they get close to doubling that by the beginning of football season as well..........I do however find it hard to believe that there will be 12-13,000 at every game........I just do not see 7-8,000 individual game tickets being sold for each game!!!!!!!!  Hope I am wrong!!!
I think there will be about 7-8k season tickets, about 4-5k students and probably 3-4k walksup, a sell out the first game no doubt!
I agree with these numbers.
 10. I think a few teams may try to move up, but I think more will drop football or drop down. There maybe be a few FBS drop down or out.
 11.
I don't think they've done enough on the national level to be ranked in the top 25, but if they keep doing what they are doing, then they will get there.
Non of those other teams is doing national level wins. Just like Lamar, they have a good record versus against average to below average teams. It amazes me how you all hold Lamar to a different standard then other schools. The "we can't have better let someone else have better attitude"
 12.

Just going by what the PA announcer said last night. BTW, what's Sam's largest crowd this year?
I am sure you can ask the PA announcer at Lamar! He seems to be getting good numbers from somewhere...  ::) Looks like our top crowds were 1787 against TXST and 1564 against SFA. The TXST game was the first one back for the students while SFA was prior to the "re-arrival" after the break at semester and as I've said before, unlike Lamar, which relies on the community, SHSU basketball relies more on the students. Figure we'll start topping 2000 pretty soon and if in position for something special at the end, 2500 to 3000 easy, like it was in in 03.
I think he was talking about SHSU basketball, not football.        Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol.
 13.
Their RPI is abut 96 now, but since the SLC is pretty weak it'll be hard for them to improve on that too much more.  I'll be happy with a NCAA berth and a decent seed for them. [Hidden Content]
Tulane RPI is 70, yet they got votes. Princeston is RPI is 77 Gardener-Webb RPI is 110, yet they have several points. ECU is 71 you see my point?
 14. Lamar really choked this game away. The Turnover Show and miss free throw sidekick. These players play like they never played basketball before.
 15. A few more wins without a loss should get them top 25 points.
 16.

LU biggest problem is being in the SLC.
Are you saying that it is too difficult to keep up with the SHSUs and SLUs of the world? The Great West would probably take you if that's the case. Didn't LU have a heated rivalry with UT-Pan American back in the American South and Sun Belt days?
Hang around losers and you become a loser.
 17. LU Ladies wins 67-63. Plumley torched them with 26.
 18.
All were at home!!!!  All would have been ugly losses on road!!!!
Lamar wins again. You were wrong.
 19. Lamar beat Rice, Tulane, and Arkansas st. Yet all 3 is ranked higher than Lamar. Lamar wins tonight....
 20. Something is in your water for those who would think Lamar would lose or it would be a close game. Lamar has beaten 2 Conference USA teams and destroyed Ark. st of the Sunbelt. Last year they beat a Big 12 school. Lamar is no Duke, but they are a middle of the road quality DI program. Lamar would destroy Yates. Yates would better match up with a NAIA school. I think Lamar Port Arthur beats Yates by 15-20.
 21. LSU Shreveport   41 Lamar                88 high 5's Texas st     18 Baylor         99 47-5 halftime... Whoaaaaa...
