1. SHSU, The pride of the Southland Conference.
 2.
The Lady Cards are deeeeeeeeeeeeeep this year. They only played eight or so players today, but you could tell that they were way too much for Rice to handle. In reality, the ladies didn't really play all that well, but they are good enough to have a double digit win and score 82 points when they are not clicking at 100 percent and are without their third leading scorer Ang Green who was out with a hammy injury. In my opinion Kalis Loyd is a better overall player than Tamara Abalde was as a freshman, but Tammy was a better pure scorer. Kalis is more of a gamer and she plays much harder. Plumley is a great floor leader for LU. She controls the team and can fill it up when she want and needs too. Ashley Crawford is a nice story for LU this year. Torn ACL two years ago, not a whole lot of production last year, and this year she is a solid contributor. Add in the play of Brittney Williams, Trashana Smith and Darika Hill in the post, and this team has the potential to be really really dangerous in SLC play and possibly dangerous if they could win the conference tournament.
HUH? No team in the SLC can touch the lady cards.
 3.
Does anyone have new information on Lamar's Softball program, and when will a coach be hired?
When someone know something, it'll get posted. My guess a coach named in early 2010. Just a guess, ok...
 4.
Texas State would make more sense than Sam.
The only place Sam is going is to NAIA
 5.

What I can't figure out is how a public school nearly half LU size, ULM, can exist at the FBS level.
Take a look at the link below and you'll get an idea how schools in the Sun Belt support athletics: [Hidden Content] Schools in Louisiana cannot use student fees for athletics but they do use taxpayer money, which is the opposite of here in Texas.  UL-Monroe had over $3.5 million in school subsidies and another $2.3 million in away games income.
Then why is Nicholls st, SELA, and UNO struggling?
 6. The University of New Orleans will notify the Sun Belt Conference of its plans to withdraw and begin a move from the NCAA’s Division I to Division III that does not allow athletics scholarships, the LSU Board of Supervisors approved Friday. The move is more evidence of the growing struggles of university athletic departments statewide and nationwide. Citing budgetary problems, Southern University, Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls State are among those that eliminated some athletics programs earlier this year. [Hidden Content] What I can't figure out is how a public school nearly half LU size, ULM, can exist at the FBS level.
 7. A door opens for Sam Houston st. University. Go for it Terror. [Hidden Content]
 8. The door opens for Texas st. I say, go for it Texas st. Announcing today can get Texas st in the Sunbelt for 2012.
 9. Written by Jude Young | Friday, 11 December 2009 14:26 | UNO News The LSU Board of Supervisors voted almost unanimously in favor of authorize UNO chancellor Tim Ryan's proposal to drop his school's athletic program from NCAA Division I down to Division III on Friday in Baton Rouge. 10.

With all that said, I think the majority of the COACHES and their staffs are doing a GREAT job for Lamar and have done amazing jobs over the last several years of building up their programs. It’s a lot of work to be successful while you are being handcuffed by your administration the way they are at LU.
I think it comes down to money.  I think Roc was hired because they didn't have the money to attract a top assistant or head coach from another school.  UTSA is paying Larry Coker $200K while LU is paying Woodard $130K, that's probably why LU didn't go after Coker.
Or because Coker won a NC at a BCS school while Woodard never HC a DI school.
 11. I thought before the game they had a possibility of stealing this game or worse case lose by 7 or less. I would have been right had the ladies not spotted Tech a 30-10 start. I am confident this game played in Beaumont would have our ladies winning by 10.
 12. Terror knows i'm right which is why is so fast to try to shoot the ladies down. A LU with top 25 votes will be Terror's worse nightmare.
 13. If LU beat Tech, I expect top 25 votes.
 14. This team has gotten better than anything I imagined. ULM is not great, but they are a top Sunbelt team.
 15. You can always count on LU's second half scoring droughts of 6-9 minutes.
 16.

TT can sleep easy now: [Hidden Content]
Yep - got taken care of about two weeks ago, I believe. Not as big a debacle as some of the others, because the teams were just waiting to finalize the contract. Lamar was probably still in the wrong for announcing their schedule without a contract that was finalized (or at least that's the way it seems - since Ga State announced their schedule after Lamar without the game listed).
If an astroid strikes Mars, I'm sure Terror would blame LU
Lamar is learning the football ropes...
I bet LU will always have more than 2,200 at it's football games, unlike SHSH.
 17.
Two things that are expected - Lamar to have the #1 recruiting class in hoops, NWST in football.  ;D I'm excited about Bob Marlin's class at SHSU. It seems to be his best one in a few years and with the Kats losing Mitchell, Almond and Brown - very crucial we continue to hold our place in the top three of the league by putting in strong players that can fill the hole.
A 3rd thing to expect - SHSU winning 20 games, losing in the SLC tourney.
 18.
Baylor won last year's meeting with Lamar in Waco, 83-36. "The girls asked me, 'What are we going back up there for?'" Tidwell said. "Well, we've got to get a little respect. And I think we got a little respect."
[Hidden Content] btw, Idaho destroyed ULL 90-66.
