BAD, Memphis is a power today but it is not promised tomorrow. Ask UH about it. Coach, yes and no. Ofcourse those teams want equal or better. But none are available. BE don't want Memphis. No BCS wants to take Houston. And none of the remaining teams are wanted by higher conferences. If the remaining CUSA wants to be big name conference, they must build it into a big name themselves. After Marshall, ECU, and UCF Leave, they must fill the slots. UH could rebuild its athletic program, it could start by cutting travel cost and using that money to rebuild. UH must get more fans in the stands, how? By adding members close by so opposing team, fans can fill your stadium too. Hence, Lamar, Texas st, UTSA, UNT... BE is full of Lamar type schools who take pride in there area, not looking to make run to a far away conference so your own area suffers.

Everyone is dillusional except Terror and a winless SHSU which is the worse team in one of the worse conference. Lamar and SHSU is not linked, unless you are saying SHSU is Lamar's butler... ;D There is no rule that says SHSU must follow Lamar. If coach is right, you and SHSU will have your SLC and FCS to yourselves without Lamar...

Fun times in Tampa! Yep, we were in the NCAAs in Lamar's "bread and butter" sport more recently than your own Cards. Of course, really can't say too much about your winning in SHSU's "bread and butter" sport...perhaps soon enough. UNLV...oh, football master and Einstein...let's all bow down at your feet! : Can you please tell me the GPI of the SLC? You need to stick to your fBS and leave the FCS alone. You are obviously a confused fan (see the name) and confusion reigns supreme in FBS, where no national champion is declared by the NCAA... This is not about me. Yep -- you don't know what being at a football school in the SLC is like. Young one, you have much to learn, though it may be awhile until LU develops a rivalry with anyone, especially with your FBS aspirations...fans on both sides of the Piney Woods rivalry will tell you that records mean crap. We've seen top 15 ranked SFA teams fall to unranked SHSU teams and vice-versa. We've seen it all. Our gray hairs could tell you a thing or few about the rivalry... You guys do not have one single player and you are saying that? Can't wait to see Woodard start talking about nationally ranked FCS recruiting classes and tough schedules. I have a feeling, based on what I've been told about him -- that he'll replace Scott Stoker in several regards... SHSU needs to get our act together? We've had two consecutive second-place finishes. We've been to the playoffs twice since 2001. We've had results including a national semifinal appearance (2004) in our recent history. This is not like Lamar, where all the talk is still about the NCAA tournament appearances in the 1980s. Our history is recent and even the young folk who were actually around to see it...unlike Lamar, where none of your traditional students were even born when LU was having success in the postseason in your "Bread and Butter" sport... The past is not helping the SLC today. SHSU is winless in the lowly SLC. WINLESS!!!!! El ZERO. SHSU is the reason this conference gets no respect in football. Maybe the Lone Star conference is a better fit for SHSU...

Terror, SHSU is bringing the SLC to a level never seen. Lamar will do better the first year versus what SHSU is doing now. All I'm saying is SHSU needs to get its act together or move down where they can better compete..

I Disagree...I rank UTSA the second least likely to go FBS. 1. Texas st (75% chance of going FBS) 2. Lamar (40%) 3. UTSA (15%) 4. SHSU (10%) UTSA is in a big market, but a very poor market. San Antonio is a top 10 city in population, but it is ranked about 40 in wealth, and getting poorer. ATT just pulled of there because its getting bad....Detroit. Austin is sucking a lot of wealth out of San Antonio. There is no community support for UTSA and adding football won't change that...UNLESS they recruit heavily in San Antonio and south Texas giving the team an hispanic flavor. Right now UTSA football doesn't look good. The area is not excited like the Beaumont area is for Lamar. That needs to change. Maybe it will with a big name coach. Coach Lamar is not at square one. Lamar and this area has learned a lesson. We are correcting the mistakes of the past. Lamar football has history, UTSA does not. Advantage, Lamar....

Bull....as usual. Lamar has been there. Lamar has played I-A/FBS. Lamar has played in Bowl games. Lamar is in a large enough MSA, nearly a half million. The only thing stopping Lamar is Lamar.

ULM drew 10,388 for their HOMECOMING this past weekend against North Texas. Drew under 10,000 against Alabama A&M. Only real "draw" this season was 21,929 against La-Lafayette. Look for the average to continue to head down...if it weren't for ULL contest, they'd have nothing above the SLC by any stretch... Always hating on schools above SHSU status. Ellite school envy.

ULM with a student population of 7,500 in a small town near(30 miles) from WAC's LA-Tech is out performing all the SLC....WHY? FBS.....

How do you hide it? Double deck the east side of Cardinal stadium? Redwood trees? The great wall of SETX? $5 Billion bond to relocate the campus? Paint a beautiful picture on the sides of the refiniery to give an illusion of it not being there? Take $1 billion in hush money from Exxon-mobil and ignore it....
