  1. You've made your point already and it's getting old. I guess you think Lamar should say "Hey, our athletics suck. Don't bother supporting Lamar or coming to the games." Maybe Coach Roc should say on media day: "I tried to recruit better players but all I got was these guys. Between you and me they suck, but hey, it should be a great season!". There's nothing wrong with Lamar promoting it's teams and players. If they don't perform it's there for everyone to see. If they keep losing the coach gets fired and the fans stay away. If you think Lamar keeps hyping it's players too much then go root for somebody else and stop bringing that crap up here. He has a mentally so many in this area has in that everything good needs to come from some other place. So they oppose any all self improvements to LU or SETX. I love improvements at LU but I have to call it like it is and not sugar coat LU sports. ExampleRoc gets credit for doing some things this year that should help his recruiting. You can't really sell the SLC to a major D-1 recruit. But you can sell your program to a good lower level player kid whose eyes would light up seeing a Memphis State or Kentucky on the schedule. Roc knows he doesn't have a prayer but it's good recruiting for the future. Gonzaga coach don't think like you....

  3. Ofcourse CUSA would be better, however the WAC would be better then the SLC until CUSA opens up a spot or the new SWC is born. Higher revenue and fund raisers as well as Tech's travel partner would cover the cost of travel. Lamar is now bigger and wealthier (and soon to be Tier 1)than Tech, yet Tech is the big dawg on espn and Lamar is the small time. When CUSA starting looking for spots to fill, will they look to a WEAK Tech athletic program competing in the WAC first? or a stronger LU program competing in the SLC? Yes, the WAC. If Lamar wants to be at the top of the list to join CUSA, LU must join the WAC or at least the SUN. The SLC schools will be considered last if at all..
  4. Yes, cost will be higher but so will revenue. Lamar is SLC co-champs coach. Think about, 2 top 25 teams coming to Beaumont vs 0-11 SFA. Which will bring in the largest crowd?
  5. Ewwww, what is that smell? Terror must have pooped in his pants. Go for it Lamar.... This would be an excellent short term move....

  7. Great...I hope they can take it too the tourney....
  8. Get back to your WAC, Mountain West, Great West or whatever basketball you enjoy the most... UTA returns Guignard, Vereen, Long. All three averaged more than 12 ppg...and you have got to figure Moffitt will do more this year plus they got a nice incoming class... They even got Marquez Haynes, the Boston College transfer, who is done sitting out...played 18 minutes a game for BC, started three games and according to their Prospectus, could end up being the top player for UT-Arlington. Vereen, thats it. The rest would be bench players on a SFA or LU team...
  9. UTA struggles to get into the tourney, get hot at the right time;LUCK, loses 4 of 5 best players.... PUUUUUUUUULEASE.... and double PUUUUULEASE on SHSU...
  10. Rice 77 North Texas 20 Is Todd Dodge job in trouble? Will LU be this bad in Woodard's second year.
  11. Kalis Loyd was just in the newspaper 1 month ago... [Hidden Content]
  12. Guess you haven't seen the tennis recap yet? Our #1 beat both of your Guttierez on way to the top singles flight victory! Thought I hear one of them was sick...our #1s also won doubles. We'll have to get production below them if we want to beat LU when it matters. Bearkat41 agreed with me that SHSU is a one trick pony. One solid girl on the attack, but Lamar was able to shut her down. When you got everyone zoning in on her and having two people up for the block each time she goes on the attack, someone needs to step up? Just no one to help... VB and WBB are the two sports where we have struggled, we'll have the Cards number in track and field... as always! Hopefully golf this year with the SLC's top golfer back this year after missing all last year following surgery... The ole change the subject....
  13. That would be great but highly doubtful. Where did you hear that from and where would the money come from? That would put them at UH's level. But Lamar should soon be classified as a Doctoral university instead of a Comprehensive university based on the definition given by Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board: Link: [Hidden Content] What? you think I need to impress you by making stuff up. It was reported in the news a while ago. Lamar to become $80 milliion research university. In comparison, UT is a $300 million. Then I learned Texas is lagging in public Tier 1 schools, so the plan is for Texas to develope 2-3 schools for Tier 1. $80 million + Texas plan = Lamar as one of those schools... my guess Lamar was picked because Lamar is named after Texas Father of education. I wasn't implying anything. I was just asking where you heard that news from. I also read about Texas wanting to develop another Tier 1 university, but the schools in the running for this are UH and Texas Tech (among others), who already have $80 million plus research budgets. I just can't see Lamar increasing it's $3 million or so research budget to $80 million in a short period of time. First, LU research budget is not $3 million. Second, its 2-3 schools Texas is wanting for Tier 1. I do remember UH mentioned. Third, if UH and Tech was already $80 million then wouldn't they already be tier 1. Fourth, this was reported in the news and I posted it...maybe on that other site. This is Dr Simmons words, not mine.
  14. LSC might take them because UCO and Tarleton wants out. For the slc, Tarleton, UCO, and North Alabama in....

  16. A start. Lamar suppose to become a $80 million a year Tier 1 research university in the coming decade.
  17. SMACK, get out the way..... do you agree Terror?
  18. There's plenty of swimming duals and meets in this part of the country. Not so many for men's squads, but with women, an ever increasing amount. I actually PA announce some NCAA Division I swimming among other things, so a bit more familiar with the sport than you'd think. Figured we were good for wins against the SWAC schools on our schedule and possibly even Lamar... Swimmiing, Bowling, SLC, yes your cup of tea...
  19. Travel partners in swimming? Only if UNLV knew a thing or two about the sport... ;D There aren't many swimming meets across the country, and since LU uses KIAH just as UH, the travel cost for both schools traveling together to the same meet will be lower then traveling alone. the truth is Terror is Terrorized when Lamar is mentioned in the same sentence with another conference. Boo... BTW, Terror didnt you say the womens soccer team would win 0 games this year. Only if Terror knew a thing or two about the sport... ;D
  20. Frustrating when they announce thge signing of a player and not announce a player who will not attend.... >
  21. Where is Kalis Loyd? I been waiting and dying to see her play... grrrrrrrrr >
  22. I talk to non-football fans all the time. They are excited about Lamar football and pledge to attend the games. They also were concerned about local talent leaving and playing no name teams in Beaumont. I fully agree with the no name teams part.
  23. I hope NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT... Womens swimming would be better. The facilities already exist and Lamar could be travel partners with UH and swimming member of CUSA.
