  1. That's incorrect. Lamar would have to be FBS for that to happen. C-USA does not allow member schools to travel to FCS schools. That's another reason to go FBS. There's not too many FCS schools in this part of the country, so it limits who you can bring in for home games. Exactly, Lamar playing FCS is limited to home games with FCS or lower. With the exception of Mcneese, expect low attendance. Playing FBS Lamar can play anyone Lamar can bring in, both FBS and FCS. UH and Lamar could have cheap high attendance home and home games every year. Both schools would get fans going to each away game. It's a win-win.
  2. Exxon-Mobil would choke them no higher than 50 pts.
  3. The same arguement not to drop down is the same arguement I would use for Lamar to move up.
  4. Can Woodard get a home and home with UT?
  5. Toot toot. I start having withdraws if I go too long without Tooting steam out of Terror's ears.
  6. Any idea what tourney? These tourney things are changing by the year. Posted this on KatFans.com, let me post here about how a few teams are getting as many games exempt as possible... I think its called the sweet 16 only tourney. Only teams who been to the sweet 16 can get invited. Sorry SHSU.
  7. For me, that's one of the tragedies of LU, La Tech, USL, UNT, and Ark St leaving the SLC in the 80s. Now everybody thinks their too good to play one another. The good ole days. United these teams were the mid-major kings, divided the mid-majors wannabe's.
  8. That's true, but the problem with a conference like that is that the CUSA schools and La Tech see themselves better than the Sun Belt schools, and they all see themselves better than the SLC schools. It'd be almost impossible to get those schools into one conference unless they didn't have any choice. Yeah if those schools had a choice. La Tech is bankrupting itself in the WAC. Tech backetball was ranked 327. No one except ULM is happy in the Sunbelt. ULL, UNT, La Tech, and Lamar was at their best when in the same conference. The remaining CUSA teams will need to fill a few spots after Memphis, UCF, ECU, and Marshall leave. The pickings will be few unless Rice, TU, TUL, and SMU invite schools way across country.
  9. A lot of fans would like this conference. It would bring out a lot more to the games vs playing in the slc.
  10. Once they update them i sure they will. I bet UNLV is happy. Took them long enough. Besides I won't be happy unless Lamar bowl or semi-bowl the stadium with FBS by 2013. looks like ur going to be bitter for a while. ;D If you look around other forums all over the country you will notice a lot of people think Lamar is eye-ing FBS. I am still feeling some doubt. I believe not bowling/semi-bowling the stadium will be the answer to the FBS/FCS question. I don't think Lamar knows yet if they are going FBS or not but they are laying the groundwork for such a move. There's still a lot of unknowns between now and 2011 so we'll just have to wait and see. I would find it hard to believe that Lamar would not have plans to expand Cardinal Stadium. I bet they have talked to Leo Daly on what it would take to expand the stadium, but there's a lot of other facility upgrades that must come first. Fuel cost I'm sure is killing Tech as well as other nearby FBS schools. Now is the time for the Legendary Tubbs to work his magic by creating a regional FBS conference. Something like; La Tech ULL UNT Tulane Tulsa Rice SMU Ark st USM Texas st UTSA Lamar Travel cost should be minimum.
  11. I think BISD will start building the stadium very soon. I would bet dirt will be flying before Summer is over. I dont think anything is gonna happen, for a while. BISD has a tendency to drag their feet with big projects. I expect nothing less from our great adminmistration. ;D 2 months ago there was nothing at West Brook, Central, and Fletcher. Today the new additions are nearing completion. BISD needs to work fast before support is lost.

  16. You're joking, right? They'll probably build a 12K stadium for that price. PNG is spending about $10M on renovating their stadium, and it costs a lot more to build a new one from the ground up. The BISD will look like a nice high school stadium while Lamar will have a nice college stadium. Some high school stadiums are better than college. Will completed Lamar stadium be better than this? [Hidden Content]
  17. Where did I say anything about size. BISD has published size many times. PNG is building a very nice stadium, however BISD stadium will be much better. NOT BIGGER.... Here is where BISD is getting its ideas. [Hidden Content]
  18. [Hidden Content] Lamar will win the field house, but will the BISD stadium put Lamar to shame? BISD complex will cost more than $30 million. I figure $18 million will be for the stadium alone.
  19. Beaumont was ranked 36th out of 300 last year. What happen to drop us to 298.
  20. Somebody needs to post them online. they were the same ones that were already posted. Surely they have more than just two drawings. Maybe they don't know yet if they are going have VIP suites and all the extras. Since they are suppose to start work soon you'd think they'd show us the plans. I say expanding the stadium for FBS is more important than VIP's.
  21. Where'd you hear this stuff coach? It was near the end of the video when he was asked about this year's schedule. Coach Roc said he's about finished with it and he's been talking to these schools. He said he's been talking to Louisville about playing in their tourney. He wasn't too specific about if Lamar would be playing any of these teams next year or not. Since he's trying to get into Louisville's tourney that wouldn't count as a money game I suppose. I don't think Roc sees these as money games, although the money is nice. He's good friends with both Gillipsie and Calipari so maybe he can get a 2 for 1 deal like UNLV suggested. You'd see 9000+ at those games in Beaumont. Exactly, now if they only use that logic with football. SFA will not fill the stands.
  22. I hope he can get a 2 for 1 deal with those teams.
  23. Tulsa would hang 65 or 70 on Lamar. Tulsa should put up about the same on UNT. We'll see this year.
