  1. If hired, SETX will say Ray who?
  2. I doubt its money keeping JJ away, more like ego. I'm too big for Lamar. He will regret when he retires from Fox.
  3. When I google his name that's all I find on him, and that he played for June Jones, the new coach at SMU. What has he done to merit a job as LU's new head coach? As far as Stump and Woodard is concerned, maybe Tubbs is thinking these guys are young and can create recruit, so they'll be around for a while and can bring in quality players. I don't think Lamar is offering the money to bring in a name coach that can "shock N aWWW". Yeah, a pity they are not. I would fund raise $5 million, then offer a 5 years contract to a big name.
  4. I'm not impressed either. At leave not for a start-up head coach. Stump or Woodard would be excellent OC and DC, then taking over as HC in the future. Lamar needs that shock N aWWW coach to start the program.
  5. Why would Skelton move down, again.
  6. I don't know where he'd go while we are building a program unless he goes undefeated his first year here or something... even then, It's not like he's a legend so schools aren't just going to take a shot at him whenever he recruits for a year and tries to raise more money from the community. Just remember how many people thought about how bad the Larry Tidwell hire was... or at least i was thinking, why hire an older guy who has never been a college head coach? Boy, was I wrong, I think every single person who doubted him was wrong. He had contacts all over the world!! I heard this guy, Woodard, was recommended by some big name people too. Oh and BTW WBbear, definitely agree with you on that statement. Hopefully he can get some players from the Brook to LU. Who thought Tidwell was a bad hire? I think i remember everybody wanting Ancelot or someone younger who seemed to have more passion; Because Coach Drake had not. Plus add to the fact we had nooo idea who the guy was and I think a few people thought oh Billy is just giving one of his TCU coaching buddy friends a job... great. C'mon UNLV, admit that you didn't expect Tidwell to be anything like he is (AMAZING!). Maybe this football coach will be too. Nope, Tidwell came in saying he wants to win now. Thats my kind of guy. He didn't say winning now is unrealistic and that 4-5-10 years is needed first before upgrading the stadium to a bowl and getting a FBS invite....errr nevermind.

  8. This is what you said, "I just don't see enough money from private donors for a new stadium". To make this statement, you must know who and how much Lamar is getting in donations. I don't have any tangible evidence. It's just speculation, a wild guess. But you're right, I don't know. Well I have a source that says Lamar is raking in big bucks. Exact quote, "well over 8 figures" Yes and I know the exact amount, but this isn't about money, this is about building a good program. Schnellenberger didn't win immediately did he? I mean he says be patient with the coach, and that is what we should be. I wouldn't say we are taking a "wait and see approach" we are taking a "smart" approach so we will have a winning program. We do not want football to fail again do we? 11-3 in a startup program in year 3 is winning immediately.

  11. Did you read the article on Schnellenberger? Did he take the wait-n-see slow approach? His approach is closer to what I am saying Lamar should do. Finally, BT hasn't released the plans so you don't know if Lamar will take your approach or something closer to my approach.
  12. So you know the number of donors?
  13. Here's a picture of FAU's proposed new 30K $62 million stadium: I'm ready to see the artist renditions for Cardinal Stadium. There's no reason why Lamar can't have both a big, fancy fieldhouse and a nice, on-campus stadium for around $22 million. I don't think Lamar will be bowling the stadium now, but they must expand it to 25 or 30K soon. Coach if FAU had picked you to design the stadium, it would look like High Island high school stadium. $62 million for this, Lamar is 1/3rd there. Now we need 10 donors to give $4 million or 20 to give $2 million or 40 to give $1 million then Lamar could have FAU stadium. Lamar would get endless fan support with this stadium. unlv, if you are referring to the 100 million dollar campaign for LU, that 100 million is not for a football stadium only. and second u cant get me to believe that just because we have a nice stadium people will support the team. maybe at first, but once the new wears off, then what? i still believe the key to long term success is WIN!!! WIN!!! WIN!!! No, I wasn't talking about that $100 million. A nice stadium will lure in the fans, winning will keep them. Cardinal stadium as is, with turf, new scoreboard, VIP's, new seats, and new press boxes alone will not lure in big numbers. Lamar needs to take advantage of the newness by shocking and awing the community.
  14. Well I don't believe BT will start football in that simple stadium. We'll see who is right soon.

  16. I like this guy. Go fast and far in as little time possible. "A big, fancy fieldhouse is not as important as a nice, on-campus place to play." Lamar must bowl the stadium.
  17. Top 10 from each region I think.
  18. I say big name, with Stump as OC, Centrals coach on staff and Big Frank on too.
  19. I was thinking about becoming a katfan if Lamar hire Stump. i do not think Stump leaves WB Any coach at Lamar would be nutts not consider Stump as the OC and Middleton as the line coach.
  20. I was thinking about becoming a katfan if Lamar hire Stump.
  21. I don't think it'll be Stump. A high school coach restarts Lamar's football would be a joke here and all over the country. Stump will either be the assistant head coach to Jimmy or OC.
  22. Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy. Are you talking about THE Jimmy Johnson. Man, there is NO WAY that he is leaving the Florida coast to come to LU. Surely you can imagine the millions of dollars he has been offered to come out of retirement and coach somebody's team. Just not gonna happen. And Barry . . . ? Why, just for the name? If he were to agree to come, I wish I were able to match it plus a dollar to get him to decline. Get outta there unlv - you're making all of us that are serious about the project very nervous. Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? worse case I'm wrong, so what.... However If I say it enough, I might trigger something in the universe that reverses the polarity in Jimmy's brain.
