  1. [Hidden Content] Lamar better not allow high school to up them.
  2. UNLV -- you are a knowledgeable guy. What'd that third ranked national recruiting class of Lamar BKB do during their time in Southeast Texas? Should be noted that this is for this coming recruiting class, can't judge it til next year. SHSU already has plenty of freshmen playing a lot of innings especially on the pitching staff (you may recall the freshmen who led SHSU over Lamar earlier this year). Time will tell if these players blossom...too early to tell. We got some strong older players too (Stein, Verbick, Howard)... Recruiting rankings are garbage anyway... Well isn't that what I said, "just the opposite". Therefore SHSU should be in last place next year.
  3. Yet when you look at the slc standing you see just the opposite.
  4. A 6-4, 200 pound guard, Moton was a three-time first-team all-district performer at Central, where he was coached by former Lamar player Calvin Rice. He was a Top 50 players in the state of Texas as a senior and was a James Gamble Award nominee and a McDonald's All-America nominee. Moton, who is a sophomore at Angelina College this year, averaged 9.4 ppg, 1.6 rpg and 1.3 apg as a freshman last season. He shot 43 percent from the field, 41 percent from three-point range and 70 percent from the free throw line. He led Angelina with 55 3-pointers made. A 6-4, 185-pound guard, Harper has helped Madison win to straight district championships and advance to the Class 5A semifinals last season. He averaged 8.0 ppg last season and was an honorable mention all-district performer. Madison is ranked among the Top 20 Class 5A teams in the state. Harper, who is a three-year varsity letterwinner, is ranked as the 48th best prospect in the state by Texas Roundball and 72nd by Texas Hoops. He played for the San Antonio AAU team last summer where he averaged 17.5 ppg and 10.0 rpg. He helped lead the team to the 2007 Las Vegas Main Event championship. Williams, a 6-2, 190-pound guard, averaged 4.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.1 spg as a freshman last season at Chipola College, which was ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Top 25 poll much of the year and advanced to the NJCAA National Championship game. He shot 43 percent from the field, 38 percent from 3-point range and 65 percent from the free throw line. Williams is redshirting this season which will give him three years of eligibility at Lamar. A native of Dublin, Ga., Williams prepped at East Laurens High School where he was also one of the top quarterbacks in the state. Chipola College, who has had six players sign early to play next year at four-year institutions, is off to a 14-0 start this season and is ranked as the No. 1 team in the country.
  5. I lied...tell us tell us tell us...Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh....
  6. We understand. We don't want to screwup something good.
  7. Can you say how long they are going to make us suffer? I thought torture was illegal.
  8. When will Bob West get AD Tubbs on the show? I would like Tubbs to get 1 pre-season Rockets game here per year and maybe a pre-season Texans game, plus the PV/Southern game. If Lamar is building and renovating these facilities, lets put them to use.
  9. If Lamar new team could play as well as this years team, Lamar will win.
  10. The conference as a whole will be down. You won't see many SHSU over Tech type wins. 9 of 12 slc schools will be +200 in rpi.
  11. Lady Cardinals lose 1 starter, return an injuried starting PG, and new recruits that is already playing at a SLC level. LU should be among the top easily.
  12. Ofcourse this based before final signing day. UTA down down down...losing 3 stars. SFA same/better....only losing the Fonz SHSU....down down. SHSU will be lucky to make the tourney SELA...down..losing green but have a few young guards that are rising stars NW st...same McNeese...down down losing a lot CC,Nichols, Texas st...will again be the weakest teams...Watch out for cc in 2 years. UCA...down... UTSA...same... Lamar...down..LU lose 3 starters, maybe 4...however recruits coming in could be better than out going guys, except for Sanders. West will be weak so LU should win the west. SFA will be the team to beat.
  13. Can you say this, will it solve the parking situation for students and fans going to the football game. I wonder how many fans will not show up if they had to park near Cardinal Village. When the stadium is finished, Lamar needs to bring back the PV/Southern game. It was dumb to allow a band to end something good. All I was told on a message left on the answering machine was "I would like what I saw." I honestly don't know "what it" is. As for a the money, in a earlier post you mentioned more that $15 million. Well, from what I've been told and saw with my own eyes you are right it is more. BTW, I'm not joking about this stuff. I know I made some people upset last time and I would not do it again. At least not this soon. ;D Sure sure Above...lol. You will never live that one down.

  15. When Lamar pulled in +8,000 for the basketball game early this year, there was a parking problem. Every spot was taken at the Montagne so many parked way across campus. The master plans shows an increase in Parking on the North and South side of the Montagne/Stadium. However, even that extra parking will not be enough for 10,000 at the Montagne and 30,000 at the football game.
  16. Well at least the best mid majors can move on to try to knock the elites off. Too bad Belmont couldn't finish off duke.
  17. This article is exactly right. The "big name" schools refuse to play anyone from a lower conference that is good enough to win. This way the low conference school will never get any respect leaving the rich school richer and the low conference school is left spinning its wheels. This is what Terror don't understand. This is what those who believe winning in the slc first before moving up crowd don't understand. Lamar is spinning its wheels in the slc. Very little too no chance of being more than a 1 and out tourney team while in the slc.
  18. 15th seed Belmont is hanging with Duke. 60-58 Duke with 8 minutes
  19. LU athletic budget went to near $8 million with the yes vote. With growing attendance and game attendance it should go much higher. I don't see why FBS is out the question.
  20. Naw, can't always get on at work. This is how we do it Running Rebel style. Now if we can only get LU to get with it.
  21. UT-Austin is a $300 research school. Lamar will be a $80 million research school with the next 8 years. All the slc schools combined would not equal this amount.
