  2. The RAIDERS roll!! Last night the Lumberton Raiders made history as they edged by the Nederland Bulldogs. The Raiders also claim a share of the 22-4A district title as Dayton beats PNG. The Raiders were led offensively by Cody Hussey rushing for 153 yds on 20 carries. The Raider defense was able to hold the Nederland Bulldog passing attack. This will be Lumbertons' first trip to the playoffs.....
  3. Oh yea, I wouldn't miss this game for anything. I have been waiting a long time for this.
  4. Hey Bullet13 you sound like you have done that before. ;D I went today to the High School office and purchased my ticket. If you can make it there this week that would be your best bet, or maybe get to the game early. I have a question ,If the game sells out, Will this be the first Lumberton Football game to sell out? I have lived there since 1976 and as far as I know there has never been a sell out before. I was not around from '91-'96 so I am unsure for those years.
  5. Trying to stay busy so that the time will pass by quickly. ;D 8)
  6. Here is another idea. How about some of the Alumni coming up with a BIG donation, since WO-S has had so many professional athletes. ;D
  7. As long as we can slow them down a bit I think our offense can capitolize. I just do not want to see a score fest.
  8. Baldwin88 must of had flash backs of the Newton game when we lined up against each other in Germany. That is something I never expected. Being all the way on the other side of the world in another country playing flag football and look up and see a familar face (a guy that idolized me so much he wanted to be #88 too, hahahahaha J/K) just so happens we were both from the same hick town in Texas and wore the same number in High School.
  9. That is Hilarious. They better not try that with Donald Stowers from Central. He had some WHEELS when we played at Lamar. Still looks quick too. ;D
  10. No put our best DB on Asa man on man. Lumberton has some good DBs. They all look to have some speed too. The problem I have seen with them in the past is they play a REAL loose zone. This will NOT work against Nederland. They will Kill us on the short quick routes. That is why I suggest playing man up. I think Lumberton has the talent to pull it off, this should give the Dline and LBs time to get to the QB. One last thing is the Nederland coaches are smart they will figure a way to beat this so that will call for Lumberton to mix it up a bit. Play a bump and run type of zone. Rough the receivers up off the line and disrupt their patterns they will definitely need to be physical those 1st 5 yds. All of this is easier said than done though just a idea, Lumberton definitely needs to improve the pass coverage reguardless.
  11. Whats wrong with it? If you have a better idea lets hear it.
  12. From what I have read (havn't seen Nederland this year other than the Dayton video). If Lumberton will man up on the receivers this should slow down their passing attack. This should make it harder for the receivers to get open quick and allow Lumberton to put pressure on the QB. From the stats I have seen Nederland is lacking a RB like they have had in the past. I think the key is to shut down the quick pass. This could be a key to a Lumberton victory. (this is in no way bashing Nederland, it is just a plan I thought might work) So what do yall think?
  13. Newton??(answer to Mavericks school)
  14. The problem with the 2001 team was their lack of defense. That is why the score against Jasper was so high. Pretty much a score fest.
  15. Dayton realy seems to be playing tough right now. Another thing is playing at home for Dayton.
  16. Penny and Mike East those are two great posts from a couple of very classy fans. Thanks! That alone makes up for any misconceptions I have ever had about Nederland fans. Good Luck to Nederland and may the best team win.
  17. That is too funny!! No jealousy here. I was just playing around but if you really feel that way bring Verde out (also remember I am a few years older too) ;D . I will compete against him in anything BUT baseball or softball. I ain't scared. I know he CANNOT cover me one on one. HAHAHA This is fun. I was thinking about getting some guys together again for a flag football game again in a couple of weeks maybe we can do it then. As for Jake, he looked athletic a couple of weeks ago at the flag football game. Now back to 1985 that was a good team as well. Coach Spacek, with Brian Wright RB, Stucker, Herrington, Jared Huey, Ken Hecke, I think Boykin was the QB. Tore down the goal post after the win against Jasper
  18. I will go on a limb and say Lumberton!! I just hope the secondary steps up.
  19. That ain't no lie Jake!! ;D
  20. Well due to obligations with the USA I was not able to see the '91 and '92 teams. If I remember correctly they were 3A which would be a different talent level (unless your WO-S). The current 2007 team definitely plays with more HEART than any other team I have seen come out of Lumberton. I think the bottom line is that if the 2007 team makes the playoffs they will without a doubt be labeled as the BEST TEAM to come out of Lumberton just because they have achieved somethink NO other Lumberton team was capable of doing. Baldwin88 nice name ;D Just remember I was the 1st RAIDER88! HaHaHa (inside joke). See yall at the Game Friday night. I may have to get someone to save me a seat, I do not get off work until 530 in Orange.
  21. What about Rhodes from Kirbyville?
  22. How about South Park: Bud Hebert, and there were many more I just cannot remember them all. French: Louie Kelcher
  23. If you will observe all of he Lumberton topics, we do not ALL talk trash so we should not all be penalized. The Raiders need all of the fans we can get right now!! It has been a LONG time coming and I think this group of kids from Lumberton DESERVES to make the playoffs. Everyone of them have worked their tails off. Probably the best group of athletes to come through Lumberton as long as I can remember.
  24. Me neither but it is just around the corner. I was hoping they would have invented a time machine by now so I could just sta in High School. ;D ???
