What really troubles me is the amount of prejudice from both whites and blacks.. The whites accuse the blacks and the blacks accuse the whites. I think we should ALL (myself included) take a look down in our hearts and pray to God that he would rid us of this awful sin. We need to start believing the best about one another rather than stereotyping and assuming the worst. I agree this is a tragic incident. I really feel for this mother who is greiving for the loss of her son. I also feel for the policemen and their families who had to be looked down on for simply doing their job.

dang smitty you sound like you have all the answers... maybe you should run for school board, mayor, governor, heck president... you'd have the worlds problems fixed i a week with all your wisdom and insight.
-
Smitty, I would love it if you could come up with a proposal to build new schools without a bond. You would have to be a miracle worker to make that happen. Maybe I am ignorant but how is the school district wasting money? How are they bad stewards of taxdollars?
-
I hate to say it but smitty you are acting like a pompous, arrogant, (you know the rest). You seem selfish and you don't have the future of our children at heart. You are just a hater. I agree with the posters that the way the bond was proposed to the public in a wrong manner. Nederland schools have needs. You should listen to the people that spend there time everyday working in those schools. It seems most of them were for the bond. If you care about our city you should show concern for our children and schools.
-
It really kinda aggravates me that people are so against building new schools. THERE REALLY IS A NEED FOR NEW SCHOOLS. People are so ignorant and selfish. Just walk through our elementary schools and high school and see the needs... I imagine if they had to work in those conditions day in and day out they would have voted differently. Athletic facilities can wait, but lets build schools!!!!!
-
I think they need to restructure the bond and maybe it will pass next time. During a major recession is probably not the right time to ask people for such a large tax increase. I think we really needed the new schools but the people have spoken...

one thing png lacks compared to Southlake, Ennis, Stephenville... TALENT... you can run whatever spread you want but without the speed at receiver, a versitile QB, and good rb... yall will not win... I look for yall to be comparable to Nederland... nothing more nothing less. -
I have been out a lot lately... Sabine Lake is muddy and almost unfishable with winds blowing 20+mph out of the south. We have been catching flounder along the Causeway bridge on soft plastics. Also been catching flounder south of the Causeway on the East and Western shores of the ship channel near the LPG plant... Lot's of black drum if your into that.
-
> I just want to fish without being blown all over the lake!!!! Thanks for the info
-
I am an avid fisherman and have noticed over the last week winds of 20+mph DAILY and forecasted for next week are winds of the same. What is causing this? When do you think the wind will finally start to lay down? Thanks much

C.A.R.E. must be starting the smear campaign in full force. Today I recieved my first letter full of propoganda opposing the bond.
-
I agree with you. I will not vote for anyone who supports this dorr fellow... I am going to look into this.
-
Sounds like someone took a page from the Paul Dorr playbook. Google "Copperhead Consulting Paul Dorr" and see what is at work to divide and destroy Nederland. These claims of NISD Admin stalling are pure political techniques...tried over and over again. People of Nederland need to get one thing straight, CARE is being pupeteered by a man that wants to tear down the public education system! He comes to a district to create chaos, misstrust and hatred among the community and leaves. In fact, you might be well served to ask to see the names of the people actively working to kill the school progress in Nederland by funding the CARE organization. Just as I would encourage you to look for the facts in this Bond, I would encourage you to look at the strategies that we can expect. Below is an excerpt from just one of those easy Google searches. Sound familiar...? So, when you get the postcards a day or two ahead of the vote, hear the radio ads, see "ghost author" letters to the editor, have another attack on the administration...and so on, remember that the person running the show has personally advocated home schooling and the dissolution of the public education system. See through this mess and support the Bond. www.nederlandbond.com Dorr, an anti-abortion activist from Ocheyedan, Iowa, is well known in levy campaign circles. He has vowed to end public education using any means necessary. He claims to have organized the defeat of more than 20 levy elections in Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota, including recent campaigns in the Lyle, Orono, Blooming Prairie and Howard Lake-Waverly districts. His smear campaigns include twisted facts and innuendo. When he leaves town, he leaves underfunded schools and a divided and bruised community. Dorr has a pattern to his campaigns. He is hired by a local voter, drawing a fee of between $5,000 and $15,000, which is well below what he spends on the campaign. He arrives about four weeks before Election Day. Dorr’s first move is to tie up the school administration by asking for many hard-to-find public documents, including contracts with employees, architects, financial advisors and administrators. He also requests current and past budgets, budget projections, enrollment data and information about facilities, among other documents. He then publishes a newsletter in which he twists facts about the district and takes information out of context. This is mailed to every voter in the district, usually about four days before Election Day so inexperienced pro-levy campaign volunteers can’t respond. He also employs a smear campaign. He will imply that district officials accepted bribes. He will question whether school employees are involved in the campaign. He will hire questionable experts to challenge pro-levy data. He once famously accused an Iowa judge of bestiality. He will air television ads featuring his children while implying they are district students. He will join public meetings promoted by the local “vote no†organization in which he will hide misinformation by starting a statement with “I’m not saying this is happening here, but …†He will question every absentee ballot and question election judges’ relationship with school officials. Those who have undergone a Dorr campaign say his ugliest tactic is to polarize the district. His disinformation campaign inflames those who already distrust schools, making the vote not about the levy but about schools themselves. After a Dorr campaign, divisions that existed in the community before the election widen, leaving resentment and raw emotions. In most communities, these feelings are slow to heal. Not following you at all... Maybe I'm just ignorant but what does Dorr have to do with Nederland?

Bondcrusher I suggest you just go out and vote on election day. Your whining and complaining will not change anyones opinion on this board. If you don't like the way Nederland does things I hear they are building lots of housing in PA... maybe you could move there. :

I am voting for the bond. I have walked through every elementary school, middle school, and the high school, and I see the need for renovations or replacement. If we wait it will only become more expensive and more of a tax burden in the future. I would like for my children who are 7,4, and 2 to have nicer schools than the ones I went too. By the way, the schools are not exactly but mostly the same as when I went to them some 25-29 years ago. I don't think some people will ever be happy. ???

I wanted to know if anyone has heard anything about his progress at UT?

It is my pleasure to help share such an awesome story

This is a really cool website made by Josh Hamilton... Enjoy [Hidden Content]

Yep. Unfortunately even this conservative court agrees that the school district can set its own rules. The right to pray doesn't mean that you can do what you want, when you want any more than freedom of speech allows you to yell "Fire!" in a crowded movie theater. While the passion that some people in this thread have shown is admirable, it doesn't go along with the law. The issue to me is how anyone would have a problem with a coach trying to do what is right and honorable... I understand your point but America is in sad shape whenever the courts side in such a ridiculous. way. Its hard to believe that in this time of difficulty and with worse times to come that people still choose to wholeheartedly reject God. May God do what he has to do to turn this country around.

You are absolutely correct - but - little or no regard is given to the US Constitution now days. The nation is contaminated with hard core liberal activist judges who hate (and I mean HATE) God and Christianity severely. And with this new administration and their party in 100% control, we ain't seen nuthin' yet. Sad days for America, for sure. :'( I think you are 1000% accurate in your opinion. Just wanted to add, that seperation of church and state is not even in the constitution. the establishment of religion that they were referring to was a state run religion such as the church of England. The whole idea that the liberals have been pushing for the last 30+ years in regard to faith and religion are in complete contradiction to what our forefathers intended. God is central. He always has been in this country. We were born a country of faith and now they are trying to rip the tree(our country) up by its roots. Rip something up by its roots and it dies... Period...

Should PNG release the applicants to the public ?
dme1111 replied to adminbaberuth's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Why do all of you PNG fans want to keep it secret? I don't care one way or another. What I do care about is all the bashing PNGISD is taking from outsiders who have NO involvement in the matter. You guys like to talk tough, talk about the law, talk about LC-M, post other schools lists, and generally dog PN-G. The fact is what you say means NOTHING. You have no influence on the list so quit trying to be an internet hero. The act is getting old. I thought this was a fun site and we could all share our opinions without discrimination of where you are from etc...The fact is Aki that it is really sad that you are getting so worked up about all this... Get a life dude... why would you say what others think means nothing... you sound like quite the egomaniac like YOU have all the answers and no one else should have a voice. Get off the site if you don't like it... It is a public forum. Your act is getting old!!!! I should get a life? You are spending yours worrying about something that has NOTHING to do with you. What is more pathetic? Second, opinions from everyone would be fine. Bashing the school and making false accusations are another story. As of yet, no law has been broken, PN-G did not require a master's because we think we are the Notre Dame of high school, are we are better than everyone else, or because Neumann has one, and the list goes on. Coop, I have no issue with you are any media guys wanting the list. It is your job. I have a problem with the bashing that goes on here. I could care less whether LC-M released their list, why should someone from LC-M, or Kirbyville, or Lumberton care if we released ours? You still just don't get it.....Release the list and it will be ok, trust me, the sun will shine, the birds will sing, gumbo will still be good. This is a public forum... we will talk about what we want... I am not worried, just sharing an opinion... I happen to disagree with yours. I have not bashed the school nor would I. I do think the school board should listen to the wants of the people who pay the salaries of coaches, teachers, etc. They were elected they are not judges or dictators who should rule without consideration of the people of there cities wishes. -

OK... I've held my tongue until now... Heres my two cents...What right does the school board have to keep anything from the public? Aren't they elected public officials...Aren't theyRepresentatives of the community? The people have a right to know... Its not like its top secret information. This is a public position payed for by Port Neches Groves tax dollars and people deserve a voice in the process. This is ridiculous. They should respond to the publics appeal not act as bureaucrats who are above the law. -
Give the kid a break, she is to young to be pushing her yet. She will have a ton of time for all that coaching latter. Make sure at that age that she has fun being a kid. This will be important to her future in playing softball, they must have fun when they are young. Just so you know before you form an opinion: I don't push and never will push my kids... She wants to learn to hit better, I shift work and don't really have the time, and have taught her all I can. She is moving at her own pace. However I do appreciate your insight and concern.
