  1. You do understand that Newton is further east than Daingerfield?  Try spell check next time big guy, it does wonders.
  2. I was also at the game on the Daingerfield side and I do not remember that happening.  You make it sound like the town of Daingerfield held a contest to see who got to throw the basketball last year!  It was a couple of punk kids that made a very bad decision and have been dealt with.  The kids that threw the ball were something like 5 years old in 98 so I doubt they remember if anyone from Newton threw a ball or not.  I hope that both sides have enough class to not bring a basketball to the game this year and I hope everyone is able to let this topic die eventually.  Good luck this weekend.

  4. You know, I read through this whole thread and had so many things to say to defend my Daingerfield Tigers but when some Einstein comes on here and says we have only been good for the last 10 years and some other rocket doctor questions our tradition I lost the desire to even try to communicate with these people.  It is very apparent that you two know nothing about high school football beyond your own little backyards.  To all you others, true Daingerfield fans do not question the traditions of other schools because our tradition means so much to us.  Will we beat Newton, maybe yes and maybe no but we will be in that fight.  Good luck this week Newton with LK and if we both win we will see you guys in two weeks. 5. It is not REQUIRED by most schools. It may be recommended but not required. If the athletic director is responsible for funding that is reportable to TEA then they must have the proper certification. Some schools still have the athletic director under the watch of the high school principal and in that case it would not be needed.
  6. I can not speak for this situation but as a rule if a coach has a masters degree it is educational administration which allows them to get a principal certification. The principal certification, which use to be called a mid-management certification, is required to be an athletic director in almost all schools. I am going through this very program right now and about 25% of the class is coaches that want to be head coach/athletic directors in the future.
  7. You guys can debate who should of and who would of, we will go home and polish our new trophy! Daingerfield Tigers State Champs
