It was a very good game. The Cardinals were fired up for their Homecoming and gave the Bulldogs everything they wanted. The Bulldogs became very agitated with the Cardinals and started making poor decisions on the field. Good Job Cardinals, way to take care of business. Go CARDINALS!!!

We appreciate your thought and concerns, but the only team that deserves to win this game is the one that has put forth the effort during practice to prepare for the game. If I know anything about Colmesneil, they will be ready for pluck the Cardinals Saturday evening. They will be ready to spoil the Homecoming events for Cardinal Football team. This is not to say that they do not have compassion for the loses that the kids and their families have gone through, because they have extended their hands to us in brotherly love when we started back in early October. The Colmesneil that I know will only have one thing its mind and that is to beat the High Island Cardinals that night. The Cardinal team that I know will be ready for the dogs to come into to town yelping and showing their teeth in and effort to stifle the Cardinal. The Fighting Cardinals that I have come to know as "A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH" will not be intimidated, they will enter the field that evening prepared to battle the dogs for 48 minutes. I am sure that it will be 48 minutes of hard hitting action that will remind former players in the stands, from both schools; about the days they used to suit up on the field. All of you former players know what I am talking about, stepping on field for the kickoff and not coming off until the final buzzer sounded. Most of you who are familiar with football in SETX, have an understanding of what it is like for High Island and Colmesneil. This match up between the Cardinals and Bulldogs may not be a big as Ned & PNG, but it is and will be a very fun and entertaining game to the fans from High Island & Colmesneil. Yes Colmesneilfan1, they tried it and it almost worked. The Wing T is nasty and they ran that hand to hand cross play all night and kept us off balance. There were a bunch of big hits and big plays made by both teams. It was a very good game. It reminded me of the games "back in the day". We will see you on Saturday Evening. Be carefull on your trip down. Go CARDINALS!!!

HI11, I do not know what you mean by your comment about proving everyone wrong. Chester had a very nice Homecoming and were very hospitable towards the Cardinals and Fans. I see that this was your first post, so I suggest you stick to reading the posts only. You need to get to practice next week and make you and your team better for the game against Bulldogs. The only way you can prove anyone wrong is to win the next two games. I am very proud of you boys and only want you guys to improve. By the way, I am included with "everyone" and you did not Prove me wrong. Colmesneil will be looking to upset the Cardinals Homecoming on Saturday, so get your head where it needs to be and get prepared.

High Island 46 Chester 32

What Chester is teaching the students of their community will only make them better individuals in life. Your kindness is greatly appreciated by all in High Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. You just can't beat a small community that has the Love of God in their heart and compassion for their fellow man. God Bless Chester.

This is an outstanding expression of compassion and brotherly love. Those two players will always be remembered by the young men on the field. Each team worked together to make it an exciting moment for the lives of two young men and their families. I wish I could have been there to see it. Good Luck tonight Rebels!!!

You are correct Rebel Yeller, the boys can't take them lightly. They must take care of business for 48 minutes. Yes the Cardinals are much improved over the past couple of seasons. The Wing T is a nasty offense and the Cardinals will have to turn up the intensity this week to shut it down early. The funny thing about 1A football is, at any given time, the momentum can change. I have been to the Cement Pit many times and have seen the Jackets hold on and win games. The Cardinals owe it to themselves to take care of business early and keep the pressure on for 4 Qtrs. Ball control on offense and not giving up the big play while on defense, the two things the Cardinals must do to improve themselves. One Day at a time Guys. Go CARDINALS!!!
