Everyone is very excited about the game on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals & Sharks are looking for their first district win and this game will be just as important to the two schools as any other game in the state. The weather should be nice, so come on out and join us for our Homecoming celebration. Go Cardinals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

HD has plenty of speed. They played a very good game. Our prayers go out to #8 in hopes he will be ready for their next game.

Chester 25 High Island 13

The Cardinals are pretty much back to normal, except for playing the rest of the games on the road. They took a tough one on the chin last Friday night, but the boys are excited about playing the Chester Yellow Jackets. Chester is much improved this year and are looking to put it on the Cardinals up there in the PIT. The Cardinals & the Jackets have always played each other tough and this year shouldn't be any different. If the Cardinals can control the ball on offense, they should be able to bring home the victory. High Island 34 Chester 13 Go Cardinals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

When going into a match up like this, the Cardinals will have to approach the game with the understanding that we have to control the ball while on offense and not give up the big play on defense. Everyone has already written the headlines for the Saturday press, so the Cardinals have nothing to lose and everything to gain. According to Hatchet, if the Cardinals are able to keep the Hornets from scoring on the first play, it will have been a good game.

Everyone in High Island appreciates your prayers. Went to bed at 10:30, no big deal expected a lot of rain and woke up at 1:30 and prayed for some relief from the wind and twisters. If there are any thrill seekers out there, I will let you stay in my house during the next Tropical Storm/Hurricane. I will check on you when things clear up!!!!!!!!!! Everyone has there heads up and are looking forward to getting the kids back in school. Light are on in High Island, but the rest of the beach will probably have to wait until Tuesday. We are very optimistic about playing the rest of the football season. The Administration just has to work out a few details. Thanks again.

I just read on the 1Atexasfootball message board the Fayetteville D-28A beat Granger D-27A. Fayetteville won games 1 & 3 to advance. Looks like High Island & Fayetteville.

High Island took the second game 18 to 9. The Cardinals will face Evadale for the District title Saturday 2:00 pm in Lumberton. Way to Go CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should be a good game. Coach Williams & Coach Hooker have their teams playing solid ball and the field in High Island is in good shape, so it will be left up to 18 young men to play it out. Lets hope the rain stays away. Go CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
