Hey RIBU2007, the final score was 47 - 0. The Cardinals played very well on Friday night. The boys are working hard and getting better each week. They are looking forward to the test this week against Colmesneil on Thursday night. It should be a good game. Who are the Sharks playing this week?

District 24 1A is going to be a battle. With the young Cardinal team starting to pull things together and Sabine Pass playing pretty good ball too, How do you think the District will play out. Hull-Daisetta or West Hardin are the front runners, but what are your predictions?

Congrats Sabine Pass. It looks like there will be a showdown in ditrict. It should be fun.

This will be good football game to see. I think it will be a very physical game. After seeing both teams play, I'll have to give the edge to EC. While playing bigger opponents and winning the Bucs didn't get alot of penalties. The Pirates will have to play a very good mental football game to keep Officials from droping their flags on the field. If either team looses their cool on the field during this game, it could really cost them. Good Luck Bucs & Pirates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Yeah!!!!!! and after the game get over to the Rice Festival and buy a Crab Ball. Its been 2 years sense you had your last one!!!!!!! Go Cardinals!!!!!!

Does anyone have any information on the Colmesneil & Cayuga score?

The Bulldogs will have their hands full with Cayuga tonight. They will probably use all of the kids that suit up for varsity tonight. They can't play on Friday, then play on Saturday. Not supposed to anyway. The Sharks will have to strap it on and get busy. I think the Sharks will win, but it will be a good game. Good Luck to both teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rusty Cauthern has been a blessing to High Island ISD. If I could sum it up in one word, it would be LEADERSHIP. Rusty is the type of Coach that I have been praying for my son to have in High School. The kids have been very receptive and are eager to learn from him. He is teaching the kids how to make choices that will make them better individuals on & off the field. High Island has been a starting point for several Coaches and all though Rusty is allready a successfull coach, I feel that he will be an excellent AD & High Island will benefit greatly from his leadership. He has a very young coaching staff willing and eager to learn from him. I also believe that the young Coaches will be better on & off the field, because of his Leadership. Thanks Rusty, Good Luck this year..........GO CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Bucpride & ECbucfan, I appreciate the words of encouragement. I think the Cardinals are in the biginning phase of something big for the next few years. The new Coaching staff has done a great job preparing the kids so far this year. I went to the Buc game in H-J last Friday. The Bucs looked real good, even with the injuries on the sideline. That has to give you a good feeling this year, 4-0 against bigger schools. Tony & the rest of the Buc coaches have done an outstanding job. I think the week off is probably well needed ans deserved. Keep up the good work Bucs. The Cardinals should get their first victory tonight. Very exciting time in HI.

Thanks guys for the vote of confidence. There has been a new life breathed into the Cardinals this year. Rusty Cauthern has brought a new Offense (well it is actually the old offense that the Cardinals ran with success back in the day) and a new philosiphy to High Island. Hey guys, we are just getting started!!!!!!!!! Good Luck to everyone this week. I will keep you informed how the game is going. The Jr. High just made it back into town 42 - 6 over the jackets. Go Cardinals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i jsut hope they don't beat up on them to bad, I hear Chester only has 12 player suiting up tonight. Chester is supposed to be coming to High Island next week. If you have payed attention to Burkeville over last ten years, they have historically gone through what most people call a learnig period. Then when district rolls around, the Stangs rush out of the gate headed for the finish line. History tells us that when that happens they usually make a strong run at the playoffs. From what I hear they are very young this year, but they still run the same Offense and they still have some speed. They will be tough in their district. Three teams make it this year, so it will be fun to see how it turns out.

Hey rgranger, you show alot of class talking about a bunch of boys playing their hearts out on Friday nights. Good job, degrading high school kids.

Can't wait for 87 to open up, then they can get rid of the Nudies on the beach between here & there. It is not a beach to brag about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Besides that they have taken up the best fishing spots.

Yes the Sharks and the Cardinals have a long time Rivalry that will continue. I am glad that SP has returned to District Football and look forward to the trip over there this year. I wish the Sharks Good Luck this year and I hope the Cardinals & Sharks can stay healthy through the rest of the season.

I don't think anyone here is going to diagree with you on that. That horse is dead. You still have to cut out the mental errors, penalties, breakdowns in assignments. Sometimes its hard to get the right schedule that you are looking for and you have to get what you can. I am sure that all coaches want to put their kids in the best spot posible to grow as a team, it just happened that d-villes opponents this year happen to be down. That is a learning experience that coaches have to go through.

I hear they are down this year, very young team. Coach Harper will have them ready for district. The one thing that they have is the Wishbone, it hasn't changed in forever. They will do alright in District.
