You spoke you mind last year @ the SPURGER game and the ref threw you out of the gym. After watching the refs at Spurger, I threw myself out of their gym last year.

So now you guys are complaining because they have the boys lifting weights. Strength is a tool used in all sports, not just football. In order to run faster, jump higher you have to get stronger. I am not talking about body builder type workouts either. Strength training and agility is the key to any athletic program.

HD is a solid team and very athletic. Kountze may not have taken them to serious and overlooked them as an easy win. How did the young kid do for HD?

I think the last time HI beat Warren in a varsity baskeball game was in 2003-2004 at the Spurger tourney.Warren holds the edge in this series about 5-1 over the last 6 years.That being said HI has never played this group,these kids had never started a varsity game before this season.They are unpredictable so I'll say the game will be close.Usually the home court is worth a little but from what I'm hearing HI is improved so I'll go with Warren by 3. Warren-39 HI-36 You did not understand what I was talking about. The Seniors that were on the court tonight have played each other few times over the past three years. I did not say anything about Varsity.

Warren should not have a problem with Buna.

Warren played a good game tonight and as I expected the Cardinals came out flat after 10 days without a game. Warren played very aggressive Defense and they shoot well from the arc. The Cardinals were able to break the press, but could not make the shots under the goal. The Cardinals hit the hardwood again tomorrow night against Lutheran South. The only way to get better is to battle on the court. Good Game Warren. Go CARDINALS!!!

My only concern is that they come out flat tonight. Ten days with out playing will show early on in the game. My son tells me they have had good practices and have a better handle on the Offense. High Island has played this group from Warren several times over the last few years and I believe they have both won and lost equally. It should be a very good game. Cardinals play hard and give yourself a chance to win it in the 4th Period. It will take everything you have, so be ready when you hit the floor. Play Smart, keep your mouths shut and let the refs make the calls. It will be a good game to the end. Go CARDINALS!!!

You can not justify some of the remarks made on this board, most of them have no thought process behind them.

That is not a fair statement to put on the current EC Coach.

On the Road in Buna, if it is like anywhere else in SE TX a win is a win. Buna has potential, but have a long way to go. Baseball is just around the corner you know!

I don't think there is a new found respect for Tramain, the respect never was lost. Anytime a team graduates its starting team, you have to expect a down year. EC will recover.

Good Post whsalum. When you are on the wrong side of a good game, you must always remember that you can improve yourself through any circumstance. Your CHARACTER and ATTITUDE about your team mates usually will show when you are getting you tail handed to you. How a team bounces back after a loss of this magnitude will speak volumes for that team.

I don't recall counting anyone out. The Rebels as well as the Cardinals have everything to gain this season. We have the opportunity of playing the spoiler in District. No one wants the Cardinals to be a District front runner more than I do, just as you and the Rebels. I believe the Cardinals have the tools they need to turn the District upside down and the Rebels have the same potential this year as well. Until district play begins, the Cardinals and Rebels have a lot more to prove if they think they should be placed in the top of the District this early in the season. Go CARDINALS!!!

I agree with whsalum on HD having the upperhand in the District race and Spurger has to be included in the top three not only because of their success last year, but their ability to win the tourney last weekend. Sabine Pass had a good showing at the West Hardin last weekend as well, even with the loss to HD. Steve Collazo told me 20 years ago, that it is tough for any team to beat another team consecutively in a season.

Evolution, you have to much time on your hands. That is a pretty good assessment of the District. You just never know what can happen and what team will show up on the road. It will be fun to watch. Good Luck guys. Go CARDINALS!!!

The sad thing is, I think I had a panic attack this morning.
