I haven't seen Crosby this year, but they will have more team speed that Friendswood. During the FW game I though BH still looked a little slow on D and if Williams gets loose like someone posted it will be 6. BH's secondary however did well against some big FW receivers that were running good routes, so I feel better about not giving up the big play. BH's Offensive line against FW was really doing well giving the BH QB a lot of time to find the open receivers. One thing I have learned though is Crosby does not lay down for BH! They do for Dayton & Porter LOL, but not BH. I think the key to this game is to get on top quick and make Crosby catch up! If BH does what Jasper did and give them short field gifts then Crosby will run off with the game. IMO Crosby plays with a lot of emotion which is good, but if they are down it is bad (For Crosby Anyway). BH is fully capable of winning this game, but until they beat Crosby they cannot be the favorites. BH by 2 points

Pride , I gave up on that years ago trying to explain that you don't need DIV 1 recruits on your team to be successful. Don't get me wrong they are nice to have, but there are a lot of teams that have these so called athletes that cannot succeed because of there coaching. The kids at BH are very disciplined and have great community support..you get a good coach and things start clicking. Yall are well aware of that and we are just beginning to learn the value of what a good coach can bring to a team.

Still a long season ahead ,but this game could end up deciding the Div II, 1 and 2 seed going into the playoffs. Were you at 14.2 don't quite yapping because the Jasper fans are on ya.

Well lets get this one started. I'm sure there will be a lot of talk on this one and from week one's results this game just got more interesting. I think Crosby under played in week one and Jasper showed they were ready. BH played a tight game with Friendswood through the 1st half then pulled away proving they are going to be a team to reckon with in 21-5A! From an out siders view point they might just say BH is going to beat Crosby just from the week one results, but we all know this will be a different game. Friendswood had little time to prepare for BH and might have underestimated the Eagles which bit them in the butt (Similar to Crosby/Jasper). This should be a great game and of course I think my Eagles can win this one at home, but they cant give Crosby the short field and have to contain their speed. I'll save my predicted score for later in the week.

Yeah I agree. We missed that hard down hill running tonight, but good lord Cauthen blew up tonight!! He made some unbelievable throws and his decision making was just fantastic. Hats off to the receiving core tonight too..Great job guys.

Just back myself... WOW.. We have some Cougar fans that are going to be eating a little crow LOL...... I thought FW was going to just blow us out after they took the lead, but forgot that we have a coach now great adjustments by the Eagles... Clean up the penalties and get the specials teams working and they can have a great year... We had one of our better RB's on the sidelines not dressed out, so I hope he is ready to go soon.

Win or lose I'm ready for some football folks. The weather is awesome today and these boys get to take their minds off of all the tragedy that they have been directly or indirectly effected by. Lets tune up for Crosby next week and have an injury free game. Westerburg Season 2 coming up!!!

This game is a toss up. Dayton needs this win to start the season off on a positive note, but on paper Ned looks to be returning more. Defense will be the determining factor in this game.

I agree with Bronco on this one. From Dave Campbell's Mag here is the skinny. Friendswood 649 students larger than BH Last year they were 9-3 6A Div II Region Semifinalist. 24 letterman return with 45 graduating Returning 5 on O and 6 on D No returning QB (Graduated) 1 RB returning (5'10" 180 lbs 4.6 speed) that missed most of the season last year due to injury 6'3" receiver with 4.5 speed DE's , DT's and LB's return on Defense. This may be a defensive lower scoring game than I once thought, but you never know.

I think this will not be much of a game. Crosby will be too big, too fast and too deep for Jasper to contain. Coogs by 3 TD's if they want to be nice.

To be honest I have nothing to base how BH may or may not do in this game. BH has had one scrimmage against The Woodlands which I understand was more like a practice than a scrimmage. I had one report from the scrimmage which was not detailed which basically was our defense looked very good against the defending 6A DIV I state finalist , but our Offense needed some work. Friendswood should be a big test for BH which is being picked to place 4th in their 6A district. I'm pumped we traded up from a Santa Fe team which would not have been very useful when trying to prepare for Crosby. At least now we should not be shocked by Crosby's speed after playing two quality opponents. Hoping to see a good competitive game Friday! What do yall think?

Yes BH is up by 50 on The Woodlands!!!!! Just playing I wasn't able to go. Hope they get some good work today and NO Injuries.. If I hear anything I'll post.

Well Harvey looks to have upgraded our schedule this week instead of Vidor then Sante Fe we have traded up :).. BH will scrimmage the Woodlands Monday 9/4 @ 9:30 AM at Woodforest stadium, Then the Eagles will take on Friendswood this Friday 9/8 @ BH 7:00 PM.
