I think the board will do the right thing and go out and hire the best candidate! Maybe I'm in a dream world (No eye rolls from the readers please)  ;D ;D I'm not one to believe in conspiracy theories and inner circles and that someone is out to get Price and all that believe in him. The writing has been a on the wall for the last couple of years. This is not about this season it is about the last decade. Price has had a great record up until the move to 4A, but if you analyze the success it coincides with 1.) A good group of kids, 2.) Big school in 3A, 3.) One of the weakest districts in 3A. Now just about all three of those factors have turned. To me its one thing to win when you have the numbers then another when you don’t. Schools struggle with this all of the time, but there are coaches out there that can do well in any situation. I can’t help to look at PNG as an example and I’m sure there are hundreds of PNG like situations. I’m also sure that there are hundreds of schools that end up in a worse situations.  To me the board made a decision for BH to try and make BH football a better program. Now it’s up to them to make it happen. Before anyone jumps me just know that I do not like to see anyone lose there job, but knowing this is a coaching job it almost like working construction, at some point the job will be over. Coach Price will move on and be successful and I hope he lands something better than what he had.

Hey 82 when you find out let me know! Penny is not deserving of being ran through the mud IMHO. Does anyone have any prove or is this the Price "Inner Circle" passing rumors? Penny is an Icon of BH and is a big part of BH tradition. If you have some prove spill it if not shut it :-* I have heard a ton of rumors myself about Mr. Price that border on unethical, but that doesn't mean they are true! I wouldn't run his name in the dirt either because of hear say. Price is gone and a new chapter is coming to BH! It might be good and it might be bad ,but its coming :-\ My Opinion is that BH gave Coach Price 10 great years and he gave BH 10 great years can't we just leave it at that?

The Hill has a lot of mediocre athletes that mommy and daddy think are at least small D1 material and the honest truth is that I can think of maybe 5 since 1995 that would be D1 football players possibly. And thats not a hit on the kids at all. Cause they work their butts of and have for years to be better than teams that out-athlete them. But the truth is that they are not all that naturally talented and never really have been. And when you are playing in District you face teams that are good and bad. But when you get to the playoffs... everyone is good. So natural athletes start to play a much bigger role. And when a team like the Hill who is and has been very fundamentally sound and hard working but just mediocre athlete-wise and they get to the playoffs and play a team like we have in the past (Kirbyville, Central, PNG, etc.) who is also fundamentally sounds but has one or two big name players that are naturally great athletes it is the deciding factor. Barbers Hill in the last 10 years has not had the Athlete-pool do go any further than one or two rounds. That has nothing to do with coaching and it will remain that way with the next coach unless he brings some phenomenal athlete to town with him. As someone who has seen all the talent that is feeding up to Barbers Hill from Junior High (by watching them play at Dayton), there are two groups that do have talent, the current 9th graders and 7th graders are GOOD!, but... not good enough to beat Dayton, which is one of the best 4A football programs in the region. Forecast for Barbers Hill over the next half decade is they will have a team good enough to post winning records and maybe win a playoff game here or there, but a region III championship trophy (winning quarter finals) is probably not in the opting considering NONE of their teams beat Dayton this year (except for the last round of junior high games (8th A beat Dayton)). IMO... Coach Price was a good coach and got all he could out of what he was given. If the people in Barbers Hill think they can win the Kentucky derby riding a mule more power to them, but it is setting up the new coach for failure. [/quote] What Big time athlete's does PNG have this year? This always seems to be the case where folks talk down the talent at BH while hyping the coaches. There are plenty of programs that are successful in the state with out DIV1 talent. BH has been beaten in the playoff by teams with no big name athlete's. Now don't get me wrong I am aware that BH doesn't have DIV1 talent, but as a whole I think the kids at BH should be able to compete in our area. The coaches are a big part of the developement of the kids, but BH parents spend tons of money during the off season with special camps and coaching to make there kids better. I know some folks are upset due to coach Price leaving and some (BH34) would just love to see the next guy fail ,so he could flap his wings an say "I told you so". Me on the other hand could care less! Alot of folks have been wanting a change at BH and Price made several changes during the last 4-5 years to try and make BH better, Those attempts failed for what ever reason. The important thing here is the Kids at BH and the schools Tradition! Folks live in BH for a reason and its not the new Sonic ;D Bring on the new coach and lets see what the Eagles are capable of! 10 years is a lifetime for a Football Coach to be a t a school! I hope Coach Price goes to another school and wins 5 State Championships! This is not the end of the world for Price or BH both will be just fine!

I looked it up though and it was 24-7 and they didn't get beat the next week they beat Marlin13-7 then lost to Sealy 27-14 in the Semi's ;D Anywho that was 10 years ago. Being a coach is not your typical 9-5 job you are judged upon W's and L's as well as the other aspects of the job. When you have a job that is paid for by tax dollars then you are at the mercy of those who pay the taxes. Politics is a major part of this, but you just can't have a coach at a school for 40 years because he shows up on time! Now that being said Price did much more that just show up on time he pulled this program out of the gutter in 99' to go three rounds in the 3A playoffs barly losing to a Robinson team that I beleive went to state that year! Although I have been a major complainer when it comes to football over the years I wish Coach Price well and hope he lands a job that fits him and wish his family well. I have always thought Price was a good AD his management skills are fantastic, but at some point along the way the connection was lost with the kids. Again Thank You coach Price and may you and your family find success wherever you may go. Now the next concern will BH learn from PNG's success and go out State wide and pay top dollar for a proven AD? Or will the good ole boy hunt begin for a cousin/friend to take over the program? I hope we do this right and find someone to take this talent that is comming up and do something with it!!
