Cleveland Wins and in two years wins it all!
-
Not to count that Dayton doubles Liberty in enrollment.
-
Liberty would not have a chance against the Bronco's! Maybe back in the day this was a game ,but now it would just be ugly 8)

give the guy a chance to do things on his own. Its obvious the kids like him, he loves Port Arthur, and hes a great guy. I for one hope he succeeds. Let me break this all down to you: He was with Colbert @TJ. He was with Colbert @PAM. He was with RTG for 3 years. That's at least 9 total. Remember when I posted on another thread about RTG not calling plays etc.? I didn't wanna put it out there at the time but Kenny called me here @work to tell me he wasn't the one calling plays despite RTG not wearing headsets, and KRH, the so-called OC, had the headsets on. He told me he only called 2 plays the whole season. Both came against the Woodlands(loss) which both were pass plays. One for a pick 6 by THW and one for a Titan TD. We talked for an hour and he want to make me understand, in no uncertain terms, he wasn't the one calling plays on offense.... Now let me further break this down: PAISD screwed up big time splitting the job of AD from the HC. So that's why the list was so thin. Quality coaches won't come here for the pay. Out of the 5 or so who made the final cut, KRH probably low balled the other 4 offering the district a pay rate of $5/hr. So naturally, they took Kenny cuz he works cheap. But you always get what you pay for. Another thing: Why didn't KRH, since he's so qualified and ambitious, apply for the Central, or Lee, or Jasper, or heck even LCM openings? I tell you why, because his resume` is waffer thin. You'd think, somebody that wants to be a head coach so badly would apply any and everywhere there's an opening. Can't do that when you only call 2 plays in an 9 game season...... See y'all in 2011..... The good news is that now you can devote more time to Barbers Hill Football ;D I'll go ahead and hook you up with some season passes this year, but you have to spring for your nachos :-*

Thanks for the updates!!!! I wonder why we are playing in a 3A Tour though ??? I guess its better than nothing and La Grange has a good program any state ranked teams in this one? -
I read this score and had to do a double take
-
Nope atleast not in the top 20! you would think with the beat down they gave Magnolia they must be good unless Magnolia had some players out or something.
-
Well lets here whatcha think! Manor beat a Magnolia team by 20 PTS! Magnolia played in #9 Wilis district and only lost by 3 points twice to the #9 team in the state. Don't know much about Manor ,but in the first round they had an impressive win indeed!

From the Baytown Sun the situation in District 19-4A, where Barbers Hill ended up in a three-way tie for the championship with Kingwood Park and C.E. King. Those three schools will stage a two-day playoff this weekend at Dayton High School to determine playoff seeding. C.E. King drew a bye in the three-team tournament, so Barbers Hill, 21-7, will play Kingwood Park at 6 p.m. Friday. The loser of that game will get the third-place seed and meet Beaumont Ozen in bidistrict next week. The winner advances to play C.E. King at 2 p.m. Saturday for the first-place seed, with the winner meeting 20-4A’s fourth-place team, Little Cypress-Mauriceville in bidistrict while the loser plays Livingston. “Obviously, you would have liked to have had this worked out in the regular season and not have to play the extra game,†Barbers Hill coach John Chancellor said. “It’s going to be an advantage to the Beaumont-area (20-4A) teams waiting for us to finish. “On the other hand, it gives you a shot to finish first for the district seeding.†After three months of regular season play, naturally, the Lady Eagles could have used a break before opening the playoffs early next week. “You want to play hard and you want to win,†Chancellor said, “but you’re really concerned about injuries and how it’ll affect you on Tuesday’s game.†-

BH 14 - BAY CITY 9 A lot of offense in this one BH had 5 long balls peterson 1 Lyday 1 and Henscey had 3 big night for the left fielder. The pitching looked good Peterson, Burdett, Rocha all had good nights the under classman struggled but it was the first game. The middle infield turrned 3 doubleplays overall at solid first outing A very solid start to the season. BH ended up winning the game 14 - 9. BH's top 3 pitchers, Peterson, Burditt, Rocha, (in no particular order) all looked good giving up 3 earned runs in 6 innings, each of them pitching 2 innings. Blaine McDonald, and Cole Young both pitched well in relief in their 2 innings of work. The hitting and fielding were both highlights of the game. The defense turned in 3 double plays with Carmona and Clifton up the middle looking very sharp. Colby Henscey had a diving catch on a ball in the left center gap. Jake Ponder had a very solid game behind the plate with no passed balls, several very good blocks on pitches in the dirt, and throwing a couple of runners out at 2nd on steal attempts. Matt Peterson and Alex Rocha both had solid games at 1st base with several good digs. At the plate Colby Henscey led the way going 3-4 with 3 HR in consecutive at bats (2-run, 3-run, and solo shot) and 7 RBI, all 3 homeruns were to the opposite field on outside pitches, 2 to straight away right field and 1 to the right center power alley. Tyler Lyday also hit a crushing 2-run HR to straight away center and Matt Peterson hit a HR to the right center power alley on an outside pitch. BH had several kids with at least 2 hits on the night. Correct me if I forget someone, Henscey, Lyday, Ponder, Carmona, Peterson. BH had at least 17 hits on the night. BH plays again Friday evening at home against Bridge City. Nice write up RIP! I don't remember Eagle07 giving such detail ;D ;D Thanks BHFAN. I did my best. Hopefully I didn't leave anything out. I went strictly from memory so I could have forgotten something. If I leave something out or get it wrong, hopefully someone will correct me. It was fun to watch, well worth the 2+ hour drive! Dang 2 hours! I'm only 5 minutes from the stadium and cant get up there LOL ;D I pretty much lived on Eagle07's updates last year due to trying to coach two little leage teams. Sounds like the Eagles are going to do well this year. -

well "coached"?? BH will be lucky if they can work past the "coaches" and make them a mute point... to be honest the "coaching" is what has led to the downfall of many of the better classes who have come through Wow! I don't think I have ever been put into a position to defend a coach ;D ;D (Ususally I'm riding them during football). I think the Baseball coaching though is good, BH's baseball program has been pretty dang good over the past several years and I don't think that happens on accident. Unlike football the baseball team compete's not only in our district, but in the playoffs as well. Last year was a huge dissapointment as we had the best pitching in the state IMHO! Don't know the particulars ,but last year had a lot to do with chemistry and just plain over pitching our stars for the hope of recognition! We can't bring back last year, so we must move on and hope that the coaching and players can bring back the chemistry!
-
Don't know but can't wait! The only thing that you can bet on is that they are well coached and will compete in this area. BH will still be the team to beat as they reload from last year!

Dan Hooks Inducted into Barbers Hill Hall of Honors
BHFAN replied to bh89-2's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Rumor was (Of course just a rumor) that Hooks did apply ,but BH picked another coach over him. Oh and the part about the Average Athletes can also be quoted about the coaches as well. I have seen some good talent go through BH that was wasted IMHO. Not going argue that at all...just wanted to make the point that the talent level has historically been tremendously higher at WOS. Hooks is really good, but the athletes he has had to work with have made him great Agreed ;D It takes a perfect balance and he seems to have that at WOS at least untill about 3 rounds in the playoffs ;D -
