Dont even get me started ;D ;D ;D I'll try to spare you with most of my opinions ,but bottom line is 3A coaching at a 4A level and a dip in talent. Both have to improve dramitically if BH is to become successful! The other programs are having success, so I can't beleive it is all talent.

Well at least u dont have the pressure of anyone predicting you to do anything other than get in the playoffs. Ive NEVER read or heard of you all being mistaken fo a championship caliber team. Well obviously you were not reading the message boards in 1972!!!! ahhh wait there were none :'( Not compairing BH, the topic is about WOS going to STATE ??? which happens to be the same topic every year at this time ;D ;D I know what the topic will be in 3 weeks ;D ;D Just jerking some chains ! Good Luck to the Mustangs on their quest to be a 3A state Champ!

It's going to be nice just to see a split this year as 20-4A has been putting a whoopin on us the last 2 that i know of ;D ,but we could see more!! 1.) Dayton should win ,both these teams meet last year with much of the same squad and Dayton won big. 2.) Lumberton should win, Crosby has some speed ,but didn't impress me almost losing to BH which did not do well this year. 3.) C.E King should Win, King really has something going this year and should win if they limit turnovers. Disclaimer: I thought that GP would take out a weaker Nederland team a couple of years ago and watched Ned tear GP a new one!!! 4.) North Forest should win, There will be a lot of talent on the field during this game and both teams seam pretty even, but I like what the coach has done a North Forest and I think he has the kids going in the right direction. this one should be close!!

Off to a good start! Eagles win season-opener The Barbers Hill Eagles girls’ basketball team won their first game of the year Tuesday beating Santa Fe 59-36. Carli Manchaca led the Eagles on the night with 25 points. Britney Gibs, Jordan Cobb and Chelsea Eppler each chipped in six points. Jullian Coon led the Eagles in assists picking up seven.

Alot of folks have predicted WOS in a State Championship since the drop to 3A and we know how those predictions ended! : Get out of the region before you tout a state championship ;D ;D ;D Last time WOS made it out of the region in 3A a beatdown occured :'(

I think it will be King in this one! Although the SETX district has some sort of Mojo over our district, so I think it will be a close game.

I agree that Coach Price has brought this program out of the gutter, but I'm not as impressed with the district record and undefeated seasons as some of you seem to be. Through all of those seasons we have not beaten a team worth a flip! 95% of the teams BH has played (If not more) have been very weak! I can not think of one team BH has beaten in the last 9 years that has done something in the playoffs. YES PLAYOFFS we can beat weak teams all day long ,but untill BH football can get to a level to beat teams in the playoffs then I cant be satisfied. these last two years have nothing to do with Prices coaching ability as the talent has been low, but there have been some very good players come through Prices program since 99' and most of them were lead undefeated into the playoffs to get pounded by the first team that had a winning record. Now these teams after beating BH didn't go win a state championship as all of them fell the next round by usually a hugh margin! Looking at other teams around the state like Liberty Hill, Celina, Wimberly, Cuero Ect. they do not seem to stock the heard of DIV 1 tallent that Price seems to need to be successfull to win, so why do they win? (Must be luck). My opinion is tha BH needs a coach from a 5 or 4 A program that knows how to win at these levels and BHISD needs to quite being the nice guy and send folks packing that are not performing. BH has a lot of talent coming up from the 9th grade down and I don't want to see it blow through and hear more excusses for why we can't win!

Well this game should decide if BH stays home for the second year in a row (4 th place ???) or if they get a berth into the playoffs!! Last year the Smiley now North Forest coach out foxed the BH staff with a last second hook and ladder to knock BH out of the playoffs! If BH wants in the playoffs the coaching has to be more aggressive (Tear Punt out of the play book) when ya cross the 50 you are in 4 down territory!!! The kids need to execute (Alot of dropped balls against Crosby). In other words pull the stops out and have fun, I know these kids can do it and the whole community is there to back you!! This should be another tight game luckily it is at home unluckily its Halloween and most with little ones will be out, but there still should be a good crowd to back the Eagles. BH 35 NF 28

Ohh Man what a game!! Just got back and Crosby made some very good catches in tight coverage to pull this game out. I have to tip my hat to the Crosby Coach, it brought a tear to my eye to see coaches coach :'( ;D Anywho there was a couple of bad and no calls ,but that is not what lost the game for the Eagles! BH gave it all they had and left it on the field!!!! Congrats to Crosby and I think BH still has a slim chance to make the playoffs if they beat North Forest next friday.

That trimmed Barbers Hill’s lead in the series which began in 1931 and continued nearly every year to 1971 to 22-15-3. “A lot of the old-timers tell me it used to be a big rivalry,†said Crosby head coach Kevin Flanigan, in his fifth season as Cougars coach. “All I know is we played them twice and they were important games every time, with playoff implications.†Ditto for tonight’s game. Crosby hosts the Eagles at Cougar Stadium at 7 p.m. in a key District 19-4A game. With three games remaining in the regular season, both are battling for one of the league’s four playoff spots. Crosby, at 3-1 in district, is in third place behind co-leaders Dayton and C.E. King (4-0), while Barbers Hill is tied with Galena Park for fourth at 2-2. “We need to win it,†Barbers Hill coach Don Price said “It’s part of a three-game series and I know if we win them all, we make the playoffs. “That’s the best way (to be assured of reaching the playoffs),†but right now we’re just trying to win this game.†Barbers Hill is coming off a 46-13 loss to Dayton while Crosby took a close, 24-21, win over North Forest. Barbers Hill is a team that does a good job of not making mistakes. They just hang in there and let the other teams beat themselves.†Crosby and Barbers Hill rank third and fourth in 19-4A in total offense, averaging 357 and 328 yards per game, respectively. Crosby is fifth in the district in total defense (346 yards allowed per game) and Barbers Hill is seventh (386). Eagle quarterback Tony Carmona ranks second in the league in passing, with 1,030 yards and 10 touchdowns through the air. Add in his 341 yards and seven touchdowns rushing and Carmona’s has his hands in 17 scores overall for the 2-4 Eagles and 228 yards per game of total offense.

I think a win over GP next week would have them IN even with losses to dayton, BH, and King. Barbers hill needs this one worse than crosby seeing their record and the schedule that they have left. Correct ;D Crosby is sitting Pretty, but if they lose to BH and CE King and BH then loses to NF they would all be sitting at 3-3 then who goes ??? hopefully that won't happen! If Crosby wins then they are safe if they lose they will be rooting for BH next week to win again ;D if crosby loses to bh and king but beat GP they will be 4-3 and would be in the playoffs I forgot about that extra game then I guess they all could by 4-3? in my senario assuming all three win their last game.

For BH the 9th through 7th Grade look pretty solid with a promising group!! Even the peewee leauges beneath them are winning playing 5A areas and following the concepts of the Varsity play book!! BH started a leage about 3 years ago called "TIFI" that has kids from the 3rd grade to the 6th grade playing tougher competition using the varsity play book. This leage is getting better each year after getting killed by these bigger area's. This will only make BH stronger! this years 8th graders were the first to enter the program ,so I can't wait for the next couple of years to see what happens!!

Wow! Thats a bunch of insight from an LCM fan on Crosby Football ??? I didn't remember the guys name from last year, but you are right our secondary got killed last year and could not contain the speed Crosby had. Hopefully with some new faces and a year of the coaches trying to figure out WHAT HAPPENED we will do better. I don't think Crosby will get close to matching what Dayton did to BH, so your prediction lacks common sense. This game will be decided by a TD and will be tight through out IMHO 8) Either Team can take this one whoever plays with the most dicapline wins!

Now for the game! I'm not sure what is happening in Cougar land because i wathed the Coog's walk all over us last year!! With that and what the team returns I thought at the begining of the year that we would see a repeat of last year. Since the Coogs are not doing very well then I think BH has a good chance of taking this game!!!! BH can not let Crosby throw the long ball all night and score on big plays, if they can contain Mr. Casey and hold n to the rock BH Wins if not ................ ??? BH 28 Crosby 21
