*Dayton vs. Barbers Hill Updates*/DAYTON ROLLS!!!
BHFAN replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I would assume they would make the playoffs and challenge for the district title like they have every year under Jerry Stewart Maybe, but it can't last forever, ask BH ;D Dayton and BH expectations are totally different you are saying BH played good on defense they gave up 527 yards and 27 first downs. That is not my expectations, I like to see a defense bend but not break and that is what BH did! 527 yard was given up to two highly recruited DIV I players, your not going to stop that. Dugat and Green could of had a 1000 yards ,but Stewart has to let some of there team mates play sometimes ;D bend but not break they broke for 46 points seven touchdowns, there is not much bend in that Ok nevermind, I could explain it all day and night, but some will just not get it ??? We were totaly dominated and our Defense absoulutly stunk it up! Is that better? ;D All that I'm trying to say is those 527 yards did not come on 80 yard plays (Thus the bend but don't break) I think all of those yards were earned by Dayton and even though BH couldn't stop the Dugat/Green show they laid some hard hits and made them use their downs. Dang it I explained it again!!!!!!! last time I promise ;D ;D -

When I said "Impressed" is because Crosby and BH is usually pretty good. PNG has looked horrible this year, no blocking, no defense, decent WR's and decent QB. BH and Crosby are down this year and it looks like the Indians are as well!!! Believe me when i say I know what yall are going through and it stinks : One thing to count on though is that you will rebound to much tradition at PNG to have to long of a losing spell! Good luck to you guys! On another note I am happy to see teams like Vidor an Lumberton doing well as they have been through Decades of riding the bottom of the district!!! Congrats Pirates!!

I think so! To tell you the truth I was exspecting Dayton to score on big palys and never give out D a chance, but they really hung in there (I know it sound funny looking at a 46-13 score) ;D I hope this gets them fired up Crosby and North Forest ar the two BH has to get past if they hope to see the post season!! Oh and the atmoshpere at this game was fantastic why these teams haven't played in 20 years is beyond me! Glad to have the Dayton/BH game back and I hope it is here to stay!!!!!!!!!!! Dayton/CE King should be an intersting game, but the Broncos still roll through district!!! -

Just got back and as exspected Dayton came in tonight and rolled! Even with a loss of such a margin I really saw the Eagles grow tonight. They did give up 46 but besides one big run by Dugat they held the Bronco's as much as they posibly could making them earn their scores. Offense could move the ball if they went to the air, but the run was completly snuffed by the Broncos! With all of that said goodluck to the Broncos and have a great rest of the season! On another note I have no idea what Dayton is going to do when Green and Dugat go next year, these two are Men among boys and without them Dayton would not be near the team they are IMHO. -

Predictions Dayton Vs. Barbers Hill
BHFAN replied to Dallas2bowl's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Hey I see that Dayton has lost a district game ;D Reporters rock! I think Stewart is being a liitle modest in his qoutes, but we know what he really thinks ;D Dugat, Green Show plays at Barbers Hill By Nick Cioci The Baytown Sun Published October 17, 2008 A.J. Dugat and Cody Green accounted for all seven of the Broncos’ scores in Dayton’s 49-14 win over Crosby last week. The two are a big reason why the Broncos are 4-1 overall and 3-1 in District 19-4A as well. Dayton head coach Jerry Stewart said what makes them so good is how long they have worked at it. “They have paid the price,†he said. “They have worked over the summers and been in the weight rooms to get better. “The man upstairs gave them a lot of ability as well.†Against the Cougars last week, Dugat scored four touchdowns, two rushing and two receiving, while Green scored three rushing and two through the air. “They have been doing that a while, not just against Crosby,†Stewart said. “I’m not saying they can’t have a bad game but when they are on, it doesn’t matter who they are playing against.†Green has 1,117 passing yards on 92 of 147 passing attempts for 14 touchdowns while only throwing two interceptions. He also has 349 rushing yards on 42 carries and seven touchdowns for the Broncos this year. Dugat has 261 yards on 20 carries for four touchdowns and 39 receptions for 565 yards and seven touchdowns in the Broncos’ five games this year. The open field is where the two stand out. “Dugat is pretty dangerous if he gets in open space,†Stewart said, “but he is also physical and can hurt you with a move or two if you try play up on him. “On the other hand, if you drop too many guys into coverage, Cody is a pretty good load himself to bring down.†Having both players on his team makes his Stewart’s job a lot easier. “It’s a lot easier coaching a quarterback that is 6 foot, 4 inches with a laser arm than a 5-foot-7 kid that throws like me,†he said. “It’s the same with Dugat, too. It’s easier to coach him than someone that was like me in high school. “It’s a team concept, but you have to have great individuals within that concept to make it work.†The Broncos play Barbers Hill tonight and Stewart said the Eagles could be the team that stops them. “They have good kids,†Stewart said. “They might be able to clamp down (on Green and Dugat) and in that case, we need someone else to rise up. “We have to make sure we stay within ourselves because they want to do well for their hometown crowd.†The Eagles are led by senior quarterback Tony Carmona and junior cornerback Matthew Viverette. Carmona has 890 yards passing and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 321 yards and six touchdowns while Viverette has five interceptions in the past three games. The Broncos and Eagles play tonight at Eagle Stadium at 7 p.m. -

Predictions Dayton Vs. Barbers Hill
BHFAN replied to Dallas2bowl's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think that it is unfair to compair what these teams did in Junior High. Alot of things can happen like some kids develope later on in life, Move In's, Move Outs, Different Coaches and much more. Its something to look at ,but just because a 7th grade team put a whoopen on another team doesn't mean you get the same results 5 years later. With that said Dayton is the Favorite to win Big and i have no doubt they can accomplish that, but I hope BH plays with intensity and heart and makes it a game! BH like Dayton has TRADITION which a lot of our district lacks, so you can bet which ever team is down this year will be back!!! Thats why I think this game will become a great rivialry in the years to come. Can't wait till Friday should be a great atmosphere at Eagle Stadium. -

Predictions Dayton Vs. Barbers Hill
BHFAN replied to Dallas2bowl's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Hey leave Mrs. Price alone ....ahhhh.. I'm mean HillGuy ;D We better get the ball in the air some more against Dayton their Run D will be to strong to throw that week stuff at em!!!! I Hope Bradford gets some more touches as well, he is going to be quite a talent for BH down the road!!! You two crack me up. What EXACTLY would you guys do if you had the reins? You complain constantly about the coaching, but NEVER admit that we don't have the athletes this year to compete, nor do you offer anything more than "throw the ball more" or "this offense sucks" or "the coaches need to adjust". Give some specifics. I am an alumni and a former player, and one of our biggest fans, but I also understand that sometimes you just don't have the horsepower to get it done. An off year doesn't mean you throw out the playbook that has been successful (and, oh yeah, the offense that the majority of successful programs run). There are some things I don't like about our program: I think we should work harder on tackling/hitting in practice and I wonder whether the coaches get our "intensity" level up high enough before a game. I also believe that if we truly want to make a run at the playoffs, we need to have 3 or 4 players going both ways. Being an AD is not a popularity contest, its about producing winning programs, which Price has done consistently. It does not bother me in the least that we have not gone beyond the third round, in fact I'm pretty impressed we made it that far with the talent we have had. Honestly I don't really care what you guys post...its a free country, at least until the next election But cringe to think that those reading this forum think that your opinions are those of the majority of "Eagle Nation" which they are NOT. We can just continue to agree to disagree ;D Everyone knows the talent shifts, so when your talent shifts shouldn't you adjust??? or just have a set game plan and plug kids in and hope for the best? Winning games is about COACHING just as much as talent, there are programs all over this great state that win, win and win again and they deal with same talent shifts! Our Offensive scheme is fine ,but you have to have some imagination and develope better routes for your recievers and plays that complement your current talent. If you watch films from 99 to present you will see little (If Any) difference in our offensive scheme just differnet kids. I'm glad that you are happy with 10-0 and out, but I think some would like to see the Eagles have a good run in the playoffs. We have been in one weak district after another which explains alot of the success BH has had over the years. I would just like to see BH win one game that they are not supposed to (Dayton would be a good start ;D ) every team that i have seen BH beat it was because we were supposed too. Because God knows we have been beat by teams that we were supposed to beat! Ya know how we can get there? ya guessed it COACHING or we can hang our heads and say "Well the talent is just not here, maybe next year we will have talent" ;D -

Districts 20-4A & 19-4A -- Playoff Four Predictions
BHFAN replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
King is undefeated in district and will remain that way until they face the Bronco's. Crosby has lost something from last year and will be lucky to beat BH or North Forest. I think Jake is right on this one... Crosby should be Barbers Hill, but North Forest will be close. Dayton and CE King are the top two. North Forest, Crosby, and Barbers Hill will obviously be fighting for the remaining two spots. 3 td's ??? oh yeah you also predict a 1 TD win over GCM ;D ;D you were only off 5 TD's keep studying ;D -

We have seen your predictions, so i feel pretty good about non of that happening ;D ;D Actually... In 19-4A I was correct 75% and for the year, I am close to 70% 20-4A is where the trouble is... Too many teams with same talent levels. The games could go either way. But.... With this one.... The Bronco stampede continues! Good luck to both sides Friday Just jerking your chain ;D you have done as well as any predicting the winner. I'm refering to the details ;D I enjoy reading your stuff however, so keep on pluging it gives us something to discuss Oh and enjoy the "Stampede" because you never know when it is going to turn into a "Trot" ;D You guys are having a great year and if it wasn't for the knuckle head move pulled by your X defensive players at the beginin of the year i think you would have cruised to a state title!! -
I am hoping Huffman breaks the CURSE this year. Liberty should be 16-1 after Friday ;D

You never know with message boards! I would think that the coaches would discourage players from getting on and talking smack! It could be someone with a dislike to #62 ;D Either or it's nice to see some fire from our side, They know they have a huge task ahead of them and I know they believe!!!! -

Yall just think that Dayton can smash on Barbers Hill i do not like Coach Price . but i think big Price will bring his a Game just like 2 years ago when Barbers Hill played Galena Park and they were key word WERE undefeated and barbers hill beat them . Also Dayton lost to friendswood and 1. who has beaten friendswood Barbers Hill i believe BH has beaten friendswood almost every time they have played excuse me if i may be wrong on that but Barbers Hill i know for a fact is practice is gonna be hard for barbers hill and Green and A.J Dugat for one 2. Cody Green is not all that great and 3. A.J Dugat Can be shut down ive played with him and sure he does hit hard and lowers his shoulders but who cares People can take his hits and i know for a fact on both sides can darn near keep up with him if they can play P-NG and almost beat them yeah im not gonna bring up PN-G and Dayton last year who cares dayton was a much better team last year . and if i may say its gonna be either a dog fight till the end or what cause i know for a fact Stewarts pretty scared of BH's Big Dogs and stewart wants to play his big dogs the whole game yall will see for a fact that BH has pretty good guys not just Carmona there line is pretty big about the size and speed of dayton the only thing is yall dont realize who BH has for recievers so watch the game and see how this plays out . i still say Dayton -38 B.H - 42 All I can say is WOW! Too much coffee. ;D We know BH will be up for this game and will be a good one, but dude you made some pretty silly statments in that post. But like you said we will have to see Friday night. 1. Here is your Friendswood vs BH History: Friendswood and Barber Hills have played 6 time since 1930. Year W/L BH - FRWD 1966 W 21 - 0 1967 L 6 - 18 1968 L 12 - 30 1969 L 7 - 14 1970 L 12 - 23 1971 W 23 - 9 2-4 overall against Friendswood, last game was in 1971 and I would venture to say Friendswood is a little better team thatn back then. 2. Cody Green is faster, stronger, and more accurate than any QB in this district for sure. Not to mention he is leading this district with over 1100 yards passing and 14 TD passes and 7 rushing TDs. 3. Well as far as A.J. goes we will see Friday night. ;D FYI 69 though 70 friendswood cheated so you cant count those ;D ;D and if the 1970 bronco's team shows up Friday night at Eagle Stadium BH will ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

The same thing was posted during the PNG game and they didn't fill them! The Visitor side is small compaired to the home side, up if you show up on time you should get a seat. If you are one of those fans that like showing up at the last minute a lawn chair would be a good idea! Please do not bring any Texas A&M chairs as you will be turned away at the gate (UT prefered) and if you have an OU Chair then donot enter the city ;D ;D
