The only reason that I can see that BH wouldn't schedule WOS would be because of Coach Hooks! Don't get me wrong I think the man is an excellent coach, but I remember a lot of jawing going on by hooks and the BH coachs during last years scrimmage where Coach Hooks was being phisically restrained from running accross the field!! The may be a case of Ego's not fear of playing IMHO.

Thank God we scheduled Lonview and not the -----------Self Proclaimed Scrimmage champion best team in the Universe untill they get knock out of the first round WOS ;D Seriously though LONGVIEW WOW I am blown away!! I admire the NUTS here, but I hope we don't get to many injuries in a game like this! The good thing is NO team in this area better say BH was scared of scheduling them ;D

Baytown will play at Stallworth Stadium the same place Lee and Sterling plays. And Yes BH does need to upgrade its visitor side now that they have moved up. You know I don't think that we have had a visitor fill the stands yet though! Huffman came close one year, but I know Dayton will bring the fans! Dayton needs to upgrade the parking some how then their stadium would be complete!! I don't think its possible though, too bad they didn't relocate the stadium to another area. Oh well

Looking forward to the BH/PNG game!! BH still has some question marks ,but should field a competitive team this year. Lines should be stoute QB returning just have to find someone to carry the rock! Yall's stadium is looking good are they putting turf down? Backs on the seats in the home stands?

Glad our AD is working on basketball schedules ??? Baytown Sun Holes remain in 19-4A schedule By Dave Rogers Published March 25, 2008 The Crosby Cougars have taken the early lead in the 2008 football race for District 19-4A. Just a week after the financially troubled North Forest school district did the expected and voted to combine Smiley and Forest Brook high schools, which were both members of 19-4A, Crosby coach Kevin Flanigan appeared to have filled the hole left in his schedule. The original nine-team schedule, put together after UIL realignment in early February, had one team per week drawing a bye in a nine-week string of games beginning the weekend of Sept. 11-13 (Week 2 in UIL parlance) and ending the weekend of Nov. 8-10 (week 10). Teams scheduled non-district games in Weeks 0 and 1 for a 10-game regular season schedule. An eight-team schedule requires only seven weeks to play, leaving each school with a pair of open dates and a nine-game regular season schedule. On a backup schedule created in late February just in case a North Forest school consolidation might occur, the coaches agreed it would be fairest to make it so every team had byes in Weeks 2 and 10. No coach was happy with the arrangement and all have been busy looking for a non-district opponent to give them 10 games. A check of area schools Monday showed that Goose Creek Memorial, Barbers Hill and Dayton were still looking and Flanigan was waiting for final approval to play Bay City in Week 10. Bay City’s District 23-4A suffered a similar scheduling collapse Feb. 21 when the UIL granted Spring Branch Stratford’s request to move up to a 5A district with other Spring Branch schools. “Everyone in both districts is scrambling a little bit,†Flanigan said. “I have a tentative OK with one of the Bay City coaches, but I’m waiting to hear back from them.†Finding anybody with schedule openings at this late date is a longshot, but a Week 10 game would be most rare and appreciated. “I just hate having a bye in Week 10,†Flanigan said. “If you make it to the playoffs, that’s kind of tough, having to sit out a week.†Dayton coach Jerry Stewart agreed. “The third week of the season is kind of early for an open date and if you’re open the 10th week, that’s a scary thing,†he said. “It’s fair for everybody else in our district, but the problem is when we jump in there against District 20-4A (in the first round of the playoffs), they’ll be a little more battle-tested. “High school kids have to keep an edge. It’s hard for them to keep focused when they’re not playing.†Barbers Hill coach Don Price said district athletic directors are still in the process of redoing their basketball schedules so they include only one school from the North Forest district, which is as yet unnamed. But football schedules, as the first major sport on the horizon for the next school year, are big. Because the eight-team schedule was a complete redraw from the nine-team 19-4A schedule, all the league games will be different. For example, where Goose Creek Memorial was originally to play at Barbers Hill Oct.17, now Barbers Hill will play Memorial at Stallworth Stadium and the game must come on a Thursday or Saturday night. That’s because Stallworth is hosting the 42nd edition of “The Game†between Lee and Sterling Oct. 10 (That is, assuming the District 21-5A executive committee approves the football schedule as proposed. The long-awaited meeting to organize the DEC and name a chair school, which is supposed to be hosted by Channelview, still hasn’t occurred.) Homecomings have had to be reset, too. The coaches are advertising on the Internet for games. Price said he’s open to playing a Louisiana team. “We’re trying to fill that (the extra open day) if we can,†Goose Creek schools athletic director Tom Ed Gooden said, speaking for Memorial. “One option is we could play a JV team from somebody with a strong program.†As a first-year school with no seniors, playing a JV team seems a good option for Goose Creek Memorial. But not for the others. And not many are inclined to travel far for that 10th game. “We’re trying to keep from having to travel 250 miles to get one. It’s not worth that,†Stewart said. “If we can’t find a game, we’ll all just go to the Dairy Queen that Friday night.â€

Two Barbers Hill football players caught red handed

There were a lot of sophomores on the 07 team that played 10-15 games, so I wouldn't count on us going too far "down hill". Of course losing 2 of the top recruits in the state will hurt, but there will be a very good core group returning for 09. Dayton has a good overall program and will find a way to compete no matter where they go, and they've shown that. As far as overall UIL... you may be right and there are a lot of factors that play into that especially with the "club" sports. No disrespect I though thought I would get on and stir the pot a little ;D BH knows about Dayton the have a very good program over there and alway are competitive in Football. Beleive me when I say I enjoyed Daytons ROMP through the Southeast Texas district the last two years ;D ;D ;D ;D I think Dayton and BH will make a good rival atlthough BH is small in nubmers now they are growing at a crazy rate,so you can plan on BH being more and more competitive each year they are in 4A. So what have your team done vs. SE tx? ;D Last I heard, your an Eagle fan. Ride your own team's coat tail. Hmmmmm let see we took Central to the wire in our only meeting in football. Eliminated Central this year in Boys BasketBall.. Uhhhhhhh Kicked the Girls Central teams butt in the gulf coast classic last year (Basket Ball) uuuummm hmmmmmm Knocked off just about everyteam you got in Baseball and Softball I know there is more ,but I just cant think right now ;D ;D Jump on them coat tails :D -

Enjoy the butt kicking that the Broncos are sure to give BH next year in Football as BH will dismantle the Broncos in UIL competition combined ;D After the great season that you will have next year it will be down Hill (No Pun intended) after that ;D You will be wishing you were back in the Triangle :-* Good news is that you can still kick Crosby around forever ;D ;D ;D -
I'm not sure maybe someone can fill us in??

Barbers Hill to host baseball tourney By Michael Pineda Baytown Sun Published March 6, 2008 It’s not as if the Barbers Hill baseball team has enough questions surrounding it without worrying about the rain. Yet that is at the forefront of Eagle head coach Gil Stalbaum’s mind with the 21st Annual Barbers Hill Baseball Tournament set to kick off today. Weather permitting, the Eagles will take the field at 4 p.m. against Smiley. “There is a 70 percent chance of rain for Thursday and our fields are still wet from Sunday,†Stalbaum said. “We can’t take a whole lot more. If we have to, we would move it to Friday and Saturday and get rid of the last place games.†The Eagles need the weather to hold up as they try to plug holes brought about by injuries to Jake Ponder and Jay Burditt, the top two catchers in the system. Both players are expected to be out for six weeks. Tony Carmona will move from shortstop to catcher to start a chain reaction that will place second baseman Clay Garner at shortstop and slide Cody Clifton in as the starting second baseman. “We want to be sound defensively because our pitching is so good,†Stalbaum said. “Traditionally Barbers Hill has always swung the bats good.†The injuries have put more pressure on the offense as it looks to replace Burditt and Ponder’s production in the two and five hole. The tournament will kick off at 10 a.m. as C.E. King and Dayton face off. At 1 p.m., Coldspring and LaMarque will play, followed by Barbers Hill and Smiley. The last game of the day will feature Silsbee and Westbury, two contenders to face the Eagles in the championship game. There will be a two hour, forty-five minute limit on games with a two-hour limit possibility if Thursday’s games are washed out. The biggest thing for Barbers Hill will be to get games under its belt as district play looms around the corner. The team’s game against Port Neches-Groves was rained out on Monday. “I don’t like the thought of getting rained out,†Stalbaum said. “We’ve got guys that need to get out there and get some work in.â€
