  1. Oldfart you are the king stooge. I read but wasn't going to comment where you were questioning the Central coaches coaching ability. Isn't that what you PM me whining about all through football season? HYPOCRITE ???
  2. Come on BH fans lets not get crazy here! BH will have to play and execute to the top of their game to upset the Coogs! This is a district Champ we are talking about here. I hope BH wins as well ,but don't get on here acting like this unless you are going to come back and take the heat if your predictions don't pan out. BH one game at a time!
  3. Dang I see Dick done got our Central/BH posts locked!!! I don't know why people want to get all irate on here ;D ;D ;D Everyone should just be level headed, not a pot stirer and non bias like me ;D ;D ;D
  4. Whoever wins this one gets SMILEY next Smiley has already beat the Eagles by a score of 71-36 & 82-53 in district Everybody is talking about Ozen ,but this un ranked Smiley team may shock some people this year!! But first thing is first I like BH in this one ;D
  5. Somehow I don't think the post that you have had deleted was you calling someone an Idiot! During football season I'm called an Idiot at least 3 times a week ;D Just wear it like a badge of honor and move on 8) Some of the Mods are a little Bias, but overall they do a good job at not letting a thread get to personall. After a loss it is just better to move on and not try to qualify it with what everyone reads as sour grapes! Central has nothing to hang their head about , BH is a good team and the Jags took them to the wire!
  6. I havent seen anything yet 8)
  7. La Marque Cougars Current record: 21-9 (District: 12-2) Thanks. I found this on the Houston Chronicle as well. LaMarque Cougars Stats and Games These teams have played at least 3 like teams with like results! Should be another good one!!
  8. Dont have a clue about LaMarque but I'm sure they are talented! Does anyone have Lamarques record or some insight on the strength of their distirct? One thing is for sure and that is BH will be prepared and ready to compete with the mindset of going to round 3!! Good luck guys keep your dream alive!!
  9. Write up from the BH Sports Report also a great pick of Mr Ybarra for two of his 35!! Barbers Hill defeats Bmt. Central 73-71! With 9.47 seconds left in a tie game, there was no doubt who was going to get the ball for Barbers Hill. I thought I knew. The BH faithful knew. And Beaumont Central surely knew. But it didn't matter, Brooks Ybarra took the inbounds pass, looked for an opening and then drove to the hoop. There were Jaguars all around. They tried; arms flailing, swatting for the ball. Somehow Ybarra got a scooped shot off toward the backboard and the ball found the bottom of the net as the horn sounded. The buzzer beater made a winner of the Eagles as they advanced to face LaMarque in the next round of the state playoffs. Game Quarter Highlights 1st - Central grabs early lead getting out to an 11-7 score. Brooks Ybarra drives for 2 and coverts a freethrow; Central 11-10. Jaguars extend lead to 15-11 but Jake Miller scores under the bucket and hits a freethrow; Central 15-14. Ian Hamlin put Barbers Hill in the lead with driving lay-up; BH 16-15. Ybarra ends the scoring by driving down the lane; BH 18-15. 2nd - The teams began to exchange 3 point baskets. Central starts it off by hitting a long trey from the left side. The teams exchange baskets to remain tied at 22. Then the guards got back into the act as both teams hit back-to-back 3 point baskets which made the score 30-30 with the quarter winding down. Each team hit a pair of FTs and BH got one more three point play as Barbers Hill took a 35-32 lead into the dressing room. 3rd - In the third period, Jon Daniels found his shooting touch from the outside. Daniels connected on 3 consecutive as the Eagles tried to create some separation. After getting a 7 point lead on Central, the Jags got a bucket with a freethrow cutting the deficit to 4. Ybarra then connected for a 3 and the made a couple of FTs to extend the lead to 8, 52-42. The Jags got a couple of baskets to to trim the margin but BH responded and held a 55-48 lead at the end of 3 quarters. 4th - Just when it appeared as though the Eagles were ready to take control of the game, Central put a clamp on BH's outside game and began their rally. With BH ahead 59-50, Central was able to get within 3 at 61-58 with just over 5 minutes remaining. The teams traded baskets and freethrows as the game clock began to wind down. With BH ahead 64-61, Ybarra once again was able to allude his defender and drive down the lane for 2. After a quick stop, Daniels once again connected from the arc, BH 69 Central 61 with 2:17 on the clock. Central then began to take the ball inside scoring 8 unanswered points and tied the game with 51.75 second left in the game. After a BH timeout, Central converged on Ybarra on the inbounds pass. Brooks quickly found Miller standing alone by the hoop for an easy 2; 71-69. Central brings the ball down, passes it down low, draws a foul and with BH students waving calmly converts both FTs. 71-71, 36.82 seconds. Then both teams attempted to give it away by turning the ball over with getting a shot. Barbers Hill then brought the ball to midcourt and called timeout. Ybarra then hits the buzzer beater for Barbers Hill's first playoff victory in Class 4A competition. Bmt. Central 15 17 16 23 71 Barbers Hill 18 17 20 18 73 BH: Brooks Ybarra 35, Jon Daniels 14 BH 21-10

  17. From the Bh sports Report! Congrats BH on a great season and congrats to SUPERSOPH for the dumbest first post ;D BH Loses Heartbreaker to Bay City, 43-40 Rough game as evident by no call on Lauren Sadler Just a couple of day ago, Barbers Hill fell behind for most of the game against Dayton but rallied at the end to secure the victory. And for a while it appeared that BH was going to repeat that perfomance. But Bay City would have none of it as they held the Eagles scoreless for the final 1:48 of the contest to defeat BH by a score of 43-40. After starting out strong, Barbers Hill could only score 4 points in just over ten minutes from the second quarter through the middle of the third period. At one point in the 2nd quarter, the Eagles lead 21-13 by applying a suffocating pressing defense and converting turnovers into easy baskets. But the Lady Black Cats began to apply their own press and the Eagles began to turn over the ball. Bay City capitalized by taking the ball to the hoop. Most of the time, BC did not score off of the first shot but they pounded the boards and got mulltiple offensive rebounds and put backs. By the time the second quarter ended, Bay City had a 27-25 lead. BH scoring woes continued in the third period. But thanks to the Eagles defense, Barbers Hill managed to stay in the contest as Bay City could only tally 6 points as BH went scoreles for the the first 4:15 seconds of the third quarter. That drought ended when Cirby Manchaca nailed a trey to make the score 33-28 Bay City. Though the Eagles fought back taking a 34-33 lead, they just weren't able to hit the open shots down the stretch. The contest stayed close the rest of the way as both teams struggled to score. In the last 5:20 of the contest, the Lady Cats only scored 4 points but BH only put 2 in the same amount of time. So basically that was the ball game. Barber Hill manage to get within one at 41-40 with 1:48 on the clock. And despite the great defense being applied by the Eagles, the offense wasn't able to muster the points needed. Bay City hit two free throws making the final score 43-40.

  23. Chris Daniels BH QB Navy. Oh and Griff I get dumber everytime I read one of your post ,so please stop posting You asked me to go back read you post why in the world would i subject myself to a day of ingnorance ;D
  24. Oldman, you're debating someone who has an inflated opinion of how good BH really was over the last few years. BH had SOME success since '99, but they really were only a modestly good team over that span. They gave a great effort in the playoff loss to Beaumont Central, and many were surprised that BH took them to the wire, but talent eventually won that game. BH followers should have been impressed with what Price and his staff brought to that game. The Kirbyville losses (at least ONE of them) could have gone either way. BH has not established themselves as a program (at least not yet) that has the personnel to be at or near the top of their district EVERY year, but somehow in the minds of these two armchair QBs they just can't believe it. Keep in mind, BHFAN and bh89-2 did not play football, but they are the "experts" behind the keyboard. If Price is a finalist for the Lake Travis job, which is an attractive job that many have applied for, then that speaks a high compliment for the man. Griff I don't know where you get your info. , but again you are dead wrong Myself and BH-89 Have played football unlike yourself! Just keep preaching on the radio and leave the discussions to us ;D You speak of having an inflated opinion of your team while you think WOS is going to state every year when in reality they can't get out of the region and probably never will ;D You know NOTHING about BH all someone had to do is read your last post!
