  5. The Hill knocks off Forest Brook By Michael Pineda Baytown Sun Published December 19, 2007 Barbers Hill’s girls dropped Forest Brook from the ranks of the District 21-4A unbeaten with a thud Tuesday night. The Lady Eagles gave the Lady Jaguars all they wanted in a 77-35 depth-building exercise to improve to 2-1 in district and 11-6 overall. “We played really hard with a lot of intensity,†Barbers Hill head coach John Chancellor said. “We’ve had to overcome some obstacles and we’re playing a little shorthanded, but the team has stepped up.†The Lady Eagles have lost leading scorer Paris Carter for the season with a torn ACL and has been playing without Cirby Manchaca, who is out with a bad back. Against Forest Brook, everyone on the Barbers Hill bench except for Chancellor made a contribution as nine players reached the scoring column. The home team jumped all over the Jaguars early taking a 19-6 lead as three starters took the scoring load on their shoulders. “Shannon Mudd and Jasmine Carter dominated on the inside in the first quarter and Keely Rivera put on a show,†Chancellor said. Mudd led the way in the opening stanza with eight points and Carter added six. Rivera finished the quarter with five points and put the team on her shoulders in the second quarter with 12 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field. The majority of the points came in transition, as Forest Brook was unable to put together any continuity on the offensive end of the floor. When the Lady Jaguars got the ball down the floor they often rushed shots or turned the ball over as the defense swarmed the ball. “Our defense allowed us to dictate the tempo,†Chancellor said. “We were able to force a lot of turnovers that resulted in a lot of easy points. I thought we took them out of their offense tonight. The biggest key was that we played defense.†Jill Coon added six points in the quarter as Barbers Hill took a 39-15 lead into the half. The Lady Eagles extended the lead to 59-22 after the third in what could be described as a tribute to their defense. Barbers Hill only made six shots from the field in the quarter but got off 23 attempts while forcing 10 turnovers. Britney Gibbs scored the first four points on the quarter for the Lady Eagles who forced five turnovers in the first two minutes. The Lady Eagles were a little sloppier with the ball in the final quarter turning it over seven times, but at that point the outcome was all but official. Toya Peters scored eight points in the quarter to give Barbers Hill a lift as it put Forest Brook away in a quiet ending. Rivera led the team with 20 points. Coon scored 12, Carter 11 and Peters 10. Barbers Hill will return to action on Friday when it travels to Crosby for a 4:30 p.m. tip-off. Other District Scores Varsity District Scores C.E. 18. Hey Purple , Dont Knoock BH we have had some good teams. This year was a rebuild year delux , BH will be back ask Dayton's 7th and 8th grade ;D It will take some time due to BH's size ,but mark my word with the growth of the school and the BH tradition BH will be a force in this area when it's all said and done with. I hope Dayton does come back to 21-4a because the competition is very week. I think with BH, Dayton and the new Baytown School we could actually develope this district into something other than ordinary 8) When BH was in 3A I thought that district was weak ,but this district just doesn't seem to have any heart! That has been evident in the last two year of playoffs. Whatever happens you can bet the UIL will make it crazy!
  19. Ok May I have the score pleeeeeeeaaaaaassssssssseeeeeee
  20. Lumberton you guys played your hearts out in a game that I thought you wouldn't have a chance to win! Congrates to the raiders and keep shutting us non believers up You guys have me convienced now congrats on the great year you have going and your fans are awesome!!!

  22. [Hidden Content] Congrats Ross!!!!
  23. PNG had LM in week 0. Week 12 LM is going to be a big difference. "PNG contained it just fine" PNG lost 19-0??? "Lumberton's LB's and secondary are really quick" PNG won 31-24???? I hope Lumberton wins as well 8) I'm ust looking at the facts and Friendswood who beat Dayton did not even make the playoffs in that district. LM down or not is still a powerhouse in this part of the world. I'll stop raining on the parade now ;D Goodluck Lumberton! Hope to see a upset!!
