  3. Welcome 34sdad to the WOS I mean SETX sports board I tell you something else about last week game! It may be the only Saturday game that BH has ever won!! For as long as I can remember anyway 8) P.S. For anyone that is going to the game with me the Bus leaves my house at 4:30 P.M sharp!!!!!
  4. Lets meet at half time. never been there so tell us the best spot.
  5. Jody and I supported the schools and drank beer It was kinda funny you should have seen the people around us when we came back with beer, I thought everyone was going to kill their selves trying to get up to the food stands
  6. I'm routing for Huffman no doubt , but I think Wheatly takes this one, Huffman killed the worse team in their district last week Wheatly is supposed to be the best.
  7. I can't believe this thread has 6 pages!!!!! WOS by as much as Hooks wants
  8. Ok indians prove me wrong It's hard to judge PNG from their first game. Brenham was very good and could make a lot of teams look bad. I give the edge to Crosby because it is at their house and the Cougars are not the best team in the world ,but from what I've read they have a pretty good team this year.
  9. I think Crosby takes this one. I watched PNG last week and although they were playing the #1 team in the state they struggled early and often. Crosby just blew out a 5A team although they are in there first year. PNG QB which I think is a Sophmore will learn alot this year and should be a good one , but Crosby might be to much for PNG this early in the year. Just my opinion Crosby by 10
  10. No blow outs here folks!! Jasper just like BH hasn't been blown out in a game in a long time. This is Jaspers house and the coaches for BH will have to prepare for Jaspers speed and coaching. I think BH's Defenese is going to be the factor in this game, If Jasper doesn't come against BH with a balanced attack and allows the LB's to key on just the RB is will be tough for Jasper to move the ball. I,m glad I get to make the trip and witness a game at the Boneyard!! Final score.................... BH 17 Jasper 7
  11. Dang BH wins and goes from 8 to 12 :?: thank God we didn't lose IF we can Beat Jasper this week are we going to 15???
  12. Todd Patton for BH rushed for 128 yards and 2 TDs tonight.
  13. Here is the write up of the game. After a sluggish start, Barbers Hill got untracked and opened the season with a 23-6 victory over Wharton. The Eagles will travel to Jasper next week to take on the Bulldogs. Jasper lost to Livingston Friday night in their season opener. For the Eagles, Todd Patton put BH on top with 11 seconds in the first quarter on a 12 yard run. In the second period, Barbers Hill recovered a fumble deep into Tiger territory and capitalized when Nick Coggin kicked his first FG of the year from 24 yards. That would be all of the scoring in the first half. In the 3rd quarter, the Eagles recovered a Wharton fumble on the kickoff but was unable to move the ball. But after holding the Tigers, BH began a march and ended with Michael Davis making a nice catch, run and then diving into the endzone for a 22 yard touchdown pass. The PAT was no good due to a bad snap. But the Eagles weren't through for the 3rd period. Linebacker Joe Sexton grabbed a deflected pass to start Barbers Hill on their last scoring drive. BH took just 2:34 to march about 68 yards. Todd Patton once again for pay dirt this time from 2 yards out. Coggin once again connected on the PAT for a 23-0 BH lead. In the 4th, Wharton put together a nice drive. QB Joel Ansley mixed some short passes and good runs in marching down the field. Ansley eventually throw an 8 yard pass for the TD. The Tigers went for two but Todd Patton stepped inside the receiver to bat the ball away. The Eagle defense had a great game. Twice Wharton threatened to score but came away with nothing. In the first half, the Tigers drove to the BH 13 yard line but their drive ended when Jonathan Delgado stepped in front of an Ansley pass for an interception. Then in the fourth quarter, Wharton has a 2nd and goal at the BH 2 but failed to score. An Eagle defender stripped the ball away from the runner and Barbers Hill recovered the football in the endzone for a touchback. Offensive stat leaders for BH were the Patton brothers. Todd rushed for 128 yards and 2 TDs. Blake passed for 109 and 1 touchdown.
  14. Thanks Nederland!! You guys looked good last night #20 is a stud and the Dog D was impressive.
  15. Not that I know of, but I check around
  16. Thanks!! If you need some updates let us know.
  17. Gotta get this back to the top!! Game day for BH!!
  18. Nederland did well last night it was funny looking at the stats though. LM had around 26 first downs to NED 5!! Nederland had some big plays and #20 was awesome!!! Nederlands Defense was what impressed me the most. Nederland is going to be tough to beat with thier D and #20 on the field. LM on the other hand was very unimpressve their QB absoluty stinks!! LM also has a gaint O-line and NED controlled them.
  19. Congrats Mustangs! I heard you guys looked good in your first game. Dayton has a good team, so I know you beat a quality team tonight. Goodluck next week to the Stangs and Bronco's
  20. Man Brenhams QB was awesome!! If he had some better receivers the game could have been worse. Brenham's recievers dropped alot of passes ,but caught enough to score big. Brenham will have to work on that running game if that are to be State Champion, but they had a good showing. PNG stumbled early and often, but there were some good things they did in the second half to begin to move the ball. PNG had a big crowd as usualy goodluck to the Indians this season
  21. Cant' wait to go watch some football!!! I do agree that Nederland will lose though. Not because Nederland is bad ,but LM is very good every year LM 42 Ned 17
  22. WOS & Dayton . There's no comparison, this will be a good game! IF you want to get two for one come on out to Reliant!
  23. MAn I wish this game was friday!!!! Any Eagle fans going to watch any games on Friday? There's the double header at the Reliant,That where I'll be
  24. You aint kidding! I read that Wharton returns their QB and a stud WR from last year. Last year the QB's stats were split between throwing and running around 700 yards both ways. the receiver had around 900 yards 10 td's last year I think he is 6'1" 190 runs a 4.46. without Mason as the DB it will be tough to contain their WR.
