  1. incredible.... can we have a discussion thread without you bringing up fedor? seriously? after the ppv last night i went on numerous sites and it amazed me that YOU were the only one i found that was bringing up such garbage. dude, give it a break.... im a fan of fedor no doubt but im a much bigger fan of mma! youve got to love the sport more than you hate the fighter!!! ive said this numerous times about your threads that you use very biased opinions when you post and very, very little fact, but when you do throw a fact or two its only half of the story. ive tried and i cannot argue with you over an opinion, heck i dont think anyone on here can. you mention fights that will never happen, you call people out whom you will never meet, its like you get a hand full of crap and throw it at the wall and whatever sticks you use it to backup your opinion. example of you using only certain stats that back your position: you mention the fighters who fedor has fought recently, but you fail to mention what their rank was when he fought them only their recent losses and lindlands weight difference. in the same paragraph you mention the rank of rashad, tito(last time he was relevant?) and jardine but fail to mention their recent, devastating losses! again, you only use the stats that benefit your position. you need to understand, like baseball this is a stat based sport and opinion can only go so far. also, lindlands weight was 215-220 the night of the fedor fight!!!
  2. you are correct, im a fan of mma not a company, i couldnt give a crap less who was promoting it! i enjoy the fights the ufc puts on, but i dont like the fact that each ppv has only 1-2 fights that are worth watching and the other 5-6 fights are tuf dilluted who i think are mediocre at best! however, i dont think anywhere in my statement i mentioned the ufc at all. i mentioned an inconsistant, overrated reality show contestant who was involved in the most exciting fight (tuf1 finale with bonnar)in ufc history and after last night one of the most horrible matches in not only the ufc but mma history! he needs to focus more on mma and less on writing books! jmo i do think its funny though how you use only half of the facts to either state or validate your arguement. you fail to mention that forrest has gotten his a$$ handed to him by much lesser fighters and pulled off a controversial decision against rampage. any other fighters who've had this many recent horrible, lackluster performances would either be on the chopping block or you'd be dogging out on these boards.
  3. this is what happens when brazils best fights a reality show contestant. one of the worst fights in mma history! :-\ jmo
  4. i thought you were done 5 or 6 posts ago.... :-\ oh, wos by 28!
  5. COUTURE SILVA LEBEN MAIA VERA GONZAGA HERMAN RUSSOW HAGUE MUNOZ VEACH
  6. my bad guys, i didnt know we were keeping track. i will start giving my predictions promptly!
  7. if were talking p4p i think its between silva and gsp.
  8. im just glad he opted out of running the entire fight like he had in a few of his previous matches.
  9. youve got to give me a little notice... plus i gotta have some backup, can silent and ut#1 come? ;D i dont put a whole lot into that top 10 thing anymore... i mean look at it, half of the fighters dont belong on there. depending on which list you look at it it contains mir,couture,cro-cop, cain, arlovski, nog???? c'mon baseball.... mir, cain, and couture???????? baseball.... mir?????? c'mon!!! mir???? ;D
  10. opinions,opinions,opinions....what matters is the fights. some people will agree with you and some wont. thats why the games are played and the fights are fought. it doesnt matter what the talking heads say.... i agree with you about the only good fight for fedor in strikeforce is overeem, but the beauty of his contract is he can fight elsewhere besides strikeforce...so with the exception of the ufc hw's he will be able to fight ANYONE.
  11. you talk about mma experts.... fedor vs. overeem is a fight alot of those "experts" are looking forward to seeing. theres alot of very interesting fights out there for fedor and there was really only one in the ufc. the only real challenge in the ufc would be lesnar and i believe fedor would end that in the later part of the first round via sub. these are all opinions, and unless the ufc buys strikeforce we will never see. this cant be proven, yet, but i would put money on overeem wrecking ANYONE, including lesnar, in the ufc hw division!
  12. I see his point... how dare Strikeforce have the audacity to also promote mma! : He's butthurt that he miserably failed to sign the best P4P fighter in the world. Instead, poor Dana will put on Chris Tuscherer vs Justin Mc Cully & Cheikh Kongo vs Pat Barry...ya know the usual blockbuster hw fights. He sounds like a scorned woman who didnt get what she wanted and now shes pissed at the world and will bash anyone. Its over, Fedor didnt sign, move on so we can look forward to Lesnar/Mir 23... :-\
  13. ok.... since this thread has now resulted in a few matches being scheduled, if its ok with everyone silent and i will be the ringside commentators and i promise i wont mention how great fedor is.... :'(
  14. i heard he moved back to la...
  15. i heard you guys lost caleb kellogg(sp?) is this true? wasnt he suppose to be a big part of the offense?
  16. After last week's negotiations with the UFC failed due to co-promoting demands, Fedor Emelianenko has instead signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC's biggest competitor, Strikeforce. The organization today announced it has signed Emelianenko (30-1) to a multi-fight deal that will have him fight under the Strikeforce banner in events co-promoted by M-1 Global. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. No specific date has been determined for his first Strikeforce fight, but Emelianenko will make his promotional debut this fall on Showtime, according to today's announcement. "I am looking forward to going back to work and fighting at the highest level," Emelianenko stated. "Strikeforce is a top fight promotion that houses some of the greatest fighters in the world. I am prepared to fight any of them." Emelianeko hit the open market last month when Affliction Entertainment canceled its Aug. 1 "Trilogy" event after Emelianenko's main-event opponent, Josh Barnett, was denied a license because of a failed drug test due to an anabolic steroid. Affliction then announced it had ceased all promotional operations and would return to the UFC as an official sponsor. UFC president Dana White last week suggested he gave his best effort to signing the Russian fighter, who had negotiated with the organization multiple times in the past, but that ultimately even offering Emelianenko "the most amazing deal" wasn't enough. As Emelianenko's manager, M-1 Global co-owner and president Vadim Finkelchtein, suggested during a July 29 press conference, the UFC's refusal to co-promote shows with M-1 was likely the negotiations' biggest hurdle. "How are they going to help us co-promote?" White said. "They're going to help us? That [expletive] might work in Russia (but) not here." Strikeforce, though, which has previously co-promoted with organizations such as EliteXC and BodogFIGHT, is willing to work with M-1. "We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with M-1 Global and Fedor," Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker stated. "Fedor has been the reigning king of MMA's heavyweight division for quite some time now so being able to work with M-1 and Fedor will substantially increase the level of competition amongst the athletes in this weight class." Strikeforce, one of the few financially successful promotions outside of the UFC, launched its MMA division in 2006 and has grown the company substantially with a highlights show on NBC and live events on Showtime and HDNet. The San Jose, Calif.-based organization is also believed to be close to signing a deal with CBS, the former home of the now-defunct EliteXC promotion, that would put its live shows on major U.S. network television for the first time. Emelianenko, a longtime PRIDE champion who's widely regarded as the sport's No. 1 ranked heavyweight, currently owns a 24-fight win streak. He becomes an immediate challenger in Strikeforce's heavyweight division, which currently boasts Alistair Overeem as its champion. However, Overeem hasn't fought since winning the title in November 2007 and was recently scratched from an Aug. 15 title with Fabricio Werdum because of a hand injury.
  17. my son just got home from practice and from what i understand we(wos) look good!!!!
  18. this guy must have missed practice today, because i asked my son and he didnt see anyone that fit that description.
  19. c'mon.... bc doesnt stand a farts chance in the wind against wos and silsbee. its great to be confident, but dont be stupid!
  20. you guys are playing for third place, first and second is taken...
  21. i dont know about him being a scared, no ball having punk, but i am disappointed they couldnt work something out. there has to be something underlying that only they know about otherwise i just cant see any reason he isnt fighting in the ufc. i still dont think its over yet, you never know...
  22. i dont think hes comparing the sport, i think hes comapring the situation.... its a pretty accurate analogy.
  23. yep, i have a feeling something will be worked out by tomorrows press conference. though, i wouldnt mind seeing him fight werdum, barnett, monson, rodgers, lashley,or overeem and all those fights are outside of the ufc.
  24. There are three kinds of Fedor "fans": 1. Ex Pride fans who KNOW he's the best fighter in the world in any weight class 2. UFC fans who also know this, but hate him for not fighting in the UFC for their entertainment 3. TUF noobs who have no business having an opinion on the matter Much like Dana, most fall into category 2. But with the recent collapse of Affliction you saw the dream before your eyes. The man you secretly love and admire was about to fight for "your" organization, and you could finally claim fanship. Your Fedor t-shirts were on order. And then SLAP CHOP! Fedor pulls the rug out from under you! To the #1 fans, it makes no difference. The #2 fans feel like they just let themselves be vulnverable only to be laughed at and mocked. "I was ready to love you Fedor... sniff sniff... how could you do this to me!?" #3... you don't really matter anyway. Fedor IS the best fighter in the world, and Dana can't get him, and neither can you. You have to play by Fedor's rules.
