  1. I'M FROM NORTH TEXAS AND WHEN I WAS A SENIOR OUR TEAM WAS SO BAD WE PLAYED IN 7 HOMECOMING GAMES. WE HAD OUR OWN AND WE HAD 6 ROAD GAMES THAT YEAR AND EVERYONE WAS A HOMECOMING GAME. MADE FOR A LONG SEASON.
  2. HAVE TO AGREE ART LAY IS ONE OF THE BEST AROUND.
  3. True, I see the point you are making, but that is not the case with the two player I mentioned in my first post. Very few runs given up by both those guys.
  4. And how many of those years did he win the Cy Young as pitcher of the year. If you will look I said the only thing that matters for PITCHER OF THE YEAR is W's and L's. There are alot of great pitchers in this area, but this thread is not Good Pitchers in the Area, it is Pitcher of the Year.
  5. The only thing that matters in pitcher of the year is W's and L's. It dosen't matter how good their stuff is or how many people they strike out or what level they play(2a, 3a, 4a, 5a). Just wins and losses. Look at those and then decide. A great pitcher just knows how to win. So all you Reagan and Muck skeptics might want to check out their records. Those kids just know how to win!!!
  6. Don't forget about Pryor at first. He might be the best defensive 1B around, and the Phillips kid (freshman I think) at 3B just makes plays.
  7. Jasper pitched Parsons the first time they played with Reagan coming in the last two innings to finish the game, and Stevenson pitched the last 3 against BC in the District championship game. So I guess you could say Jasper has 3 aces.
  8. Who pitched for HJ?
  9. Who's Pitching for HJ?
  10. Congrats on the win K-Ville.
  11. Don't know the situation over there, but I know Coach Willis and If he is given the time and control over the pitching program he will make them better.
  12. Great job Dawgs. Hard Fought Victory. Hats off to BC. They are a good Team. All three teams that come out of this District will be tough to beat in the Playoffs.
  13. The rule says that you don't have to slide at any base. If there is contact it can not be Malicious, and that is a judgement call by the umpire. Here is the Catch, If you don't slide at second on the double play ball and you get hit by the throw you and the batter are out. If the play is at home you can make contact, but only if it can't be avoided, and then that's when the Ump makes the call on the Malicious Contact.
  14. Good win for the guys in Warren! Congrats.
  15. I hear that Warren has a good pitching coach though, so they should be getting better on the mound.
  16. Pound for pound Tre'von Limbrick RB From Jasper. He is 5'5 and around 135lb's and he squats over 500lb's. Not sure on the bench.
  17. Rusty is a great guy and will be sucessfull anywhere he goes. Good Luck High Island!!!
  18. Jasper Does not have a JV Both of those were Freshman Teams. And an added note their three best freshman kids are all on varsity with all of the other young tallent that they have up there. Could be a long year for them but the future is brighter than you think.
  19. Gilmer 49 Jasper 47 2004 Championship Game. You know the story. Gilmer up big in first half. Jasper pulls within 2. Goes for two point conversion. Close play (he was in) ruled down. Gilmer Wins. Talk about heartbreaking.
  20. I watched the Jasper/Gilmer State Game two years ago. Gilmer 43 Jasper 41. But we all know the two point conversion was good.
  21. The Catch Sean Weatherspoon Had for Jasper last year in the first round against rusk beats them all. One handed agains three guys for a TD.
