  1. They certainly have the offense to win the SLC Tournament, but the big question is if the arms will hold up over the long weekend, and the tournament is at NSU this year, so the deck will not be in their favor.
  2. I can totally understand the mid-week idea and Wayne Graham does the same thing at Rice until he gets his mid-week starter set. I just wonder if the game plan is to stick with who is hot to win the game and gain "points" toward an at-large bid if they do not win the SLC. BTW - this weekend really hurt there chances of an at-large if they don't win the conference tournament.
  3. What did the Florida 4 decide, are they coming back?
  4. Sometimes I think the HC overmanages. Against UH the starter Cody Williams is crusing. Hey lets lift him with a 3-0 lead to get some other guys some work in the top of the 3rd. A four run Cougar 3rd ensued that changed the momentum of the game. Colin Delhomme can mash though. Great hitters in that group, but what wrong with Michael Ambort. BTW the Owls are in town next Tuesday. Can't wait.
  5. Owls win with walk-off single in the 9th 5-4. [Hidden Content]
  6. Thats 10 in a row for the Horns over the Owls. Its getting old real fast. >
  7. UH scored on a late touchdown pass and its defense stopped the Cards inside the UH 20 with under a minute left to beat Lamar 17-10 in Beaumont last night. Wait no.... ;D Seriously Colin Delhome hit two massive bombs but the pitching and costly errors did in Big Red in a great game last night at Vincent-Beck. [Hidden Content]
  8. Usually when Gilligan plays a big name school, he goes with his best pitcher with a chance to win, then has a short hook if they get in trouble. UH is down this year, but LU has to win this one and needs to upset Rice to have a legit shot at an at-large bid this year. I'm betting he pulls out all the stops tonight, but I don't think it will be enough. Coogs 8-6. PS - I'd throw J-Stutes.
  9. [Hidden Content] Should be a good game. Both teams on a bit of a role. Coop whats the weather look like. Will they get it in?
  10. I would agree it is a small step if not a lateral move. Nolan Richardson resurrected he Eddie Sutton "glory years" I think all that really matters is the $$$$$$, no matter where the program is.
  11. Whoa Pig Souey. Return to 40 mintues of hell?
  12. Durant should hang out in Austin for another season. He can bulk up and if possible develop more aspects of his game. With Oden making the final four he could come out if the Bucks win a championship, if not I could see him sticking around for a run at one next year. I remember UT commentators saying that Durant had asked Barnes if he had to address the media on his draft status and Barnes told him to let it go, so perhaps he like it at UT and may stick around for a year or two more.
  13. So I'm curious did they make it in the door? If so how much did they have to pay? It looked like there were a lot of empty seats last night.
  14. Cobb, were you there? The closest thing to EL Perfecto I have seen was Ohka from the Expos shutting down the Astros for 5 innings a few year back.
  15. Then they better start hitting better in the clutch and stop leaving small towns on base each game. Huge series this weekend @ USM.

  17. I thought I would start a new topic instead of expanding the Minnesota link. Although Billy G. at A&M is the "hot" coach right now he may not be in the "upper echelon" yet. He is a great coach, but still has more to build on before I would think UK came calling. However sometimes schools just want who's hot. From what I heard on the radio, top candidates are Tom Crean, Mark Few, Jay Wright. Also on the list are Tom Izzo, Rick Barnes, John Callipari, and Billy Gillespie. Also they said UK would probably make a push for Billy Donovan at UF. ESPN did mention that BG was a "Texas" guy so he probably isn't the first guy on the list anyway. I think I would want Izzo. That said who would you guys bring in.
  18. Any chance Donovan leaves Florida for another SEC school?
  19. The Big 10 is the most overated Conference in the nation in all sports. Credit OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin. After that the drop off is amazing in all sports. Now we get to delay college baseball season next year so they have a chance to play more games at home. Let's see how many quality Big 10 baseball programs are there? I guess Minnesota counts.
  20. Would it be a "downhill" fight because you were shoved down it by Greg Oden? ;D Seriously this guy is like 30 years old.
  21. What a rip. So much for the casual fans expirence of a game. I bet if you are at the Alamodome close to game time you can get a decent price from a "ticket broker" some where in the nose bleed section.
  22. According to ESPN Radio Steve Alford will be leaving Iowa to become the new head coach at New Mexico.
  23. Tubby Smith will be announced as new Minnesota Golden Gophers basketball coach tonight according to ESPN Radio. I will find a link to it.
